informative.. thanks…

modern day gestapo tactics… interesting…

The only relevant questions are whether the blockade is legal and if they were detained legally or kidnapped.

The tactics used by Israel here are not different than any other immigration of coast guard. The filming, sniffing, checking bags is their heightened security. Absolutely a product of fortress Israel but no, not gestapo, which as you know (an assuming words mean something) is a force abusing its own citizens not people intentionally provoking them.

The issue again is the legality of the blockade and the right (or not) of Israel to forcefully redirect ships in international waters.

As an accredited journalist for Democracy Now, she was told she, unlike colleagues from other stations (Press TV, AlJazeera) was considered an activist.
She was only permitted to call a family member/friend in her home country, and ordered to only say nice things (ie, not permitted to tell the truth of what had been happening since the kidnap).
Her belongings were not inventoried or signed for, nor were they returned.
The US officials claimed to get the ‘runaround’ from the Israeli side, and that they were impotent, could do nothing, unlike the Irish officials – who, apparently, have refused to pay for the air tickets home of their nationals, deeming it to be the responsibility of the Israelis.
And let’s not forget the usual demand to sign a statement ‘admitting’ illegal entry to Israel.
tokyobk, that doesn’t sound like “any other country”, it sounds like a fascist country to me.

What a criminal state Israel is. I wonder what will happen when it all collapses. Will the violence just get worse?
