Sullivan says that Washington Post columnist has become ‘spokesman’ for Netanyahu ‘propaganda’

This morning Max Blumenthal pointed out that not one of the Washington Post’s “supposedly liberal” columnists can say one word in favor of Palestinian rights. Now here is Andrew Sullivan saying that Post columnist Jackson Diehl is a “spokesman” for Netanyahu and that his column is simply “Israeli government propaganda.”

The Washington Post as a whole has become nothing but a propaganda organ for the most extreme right-wing regime in Israeli history. It’s amazing that this once respectable newspaper fell so far so fast. It has migrated from the center-left to the extreme right because of its determination to defend Israel at all costs.

The New York Times has followed a similar trajectory, thanks to the passionate (fanatical) attachment of some highly placed people at the paper to Israel right or wrong.

Then there’s Charles Krauthammer, whose column appears regularly in the Washington Post. His views are so off the wall that he makes Diehl seem moderate.

Diehl revealed in a recent column that he was the Washington Post‘s Jerusalem correspondent for a while some 20 years ago.

Some pro-Israel militants at the Washington Post (including oped writers):

1. Al Kamen 2. Charles Krauthammer 3. Dan Senor 4. Daniel Pipes 5. Douglas Feith 6. Fred Hiatt 7. Frederick Kagan 8. George Will 9. Jackson Diehl 10. Jennifer Rubin 11. Ken Adelman 12. Meyrav Wurmser 13. Michael Abramowitz 14. Michael Gerson 15. Michael Getler 16. Paul Wolfowitz 17. Peter Rodman 18. Richard Perle 19. Robert Kagan 20. William Kristol

I’ve probably forgotten at least a dozen names. Pro-Israel neocons at the Washington Post played a leading role in stampeding Americans into the Iraq War.

Didn’t Dana Milbank at the Washington Post try to slyly smear Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer as Nazis because they dared to take a close look at the Israel lobby?

Useful exercise: identify all the organizational interlocks between the Washington Post and neoconservative organizations. Identify the lead financial controllers of the entire network. These are the people who currently own and run America.
