Don’t mean to threadjack, but has this been reported on yet?

Phil comes in #1 on the ADL blacklist. He has been congratulated by Max B and Ali A. Let me third that! -N49.

ps – Request to moderators — could we please have an daily open thread post? I have often found myself wanted to say something but without a place to say it. I don’t want to be rude and barge in on another conversation. I thought a daily open thread might help provide a grab-bag forum helpful to all. ?? -N49.

The news round-up posts function a bit like an open thread.

With regard to the link, I am reminded that Paul Newman considered it one of his greatest achievements to be high up (#17?) on Nixon’s enemies list. No wonder Max B and Ali A have tendered their congratulations.

Jewish Philly. Look at who’s in. They talk about “the reality of the State of Israel” . Do they understand what Likud is doing ? That the State of Israel no longer exists? That is has been replaced by Erez Israel ?

“BDS does not stand up to the rigors of academic inquiry.” Why does the whole community get involved in an academic discussion? Does this ever happen in the physics department?

Thanks N49. There are 5 people on the ADL’s sh**list. And six comments–all praise Phil for his work. I added to that praise. Takes a minute. Join me?

    That is powerful stuff.
Compassion and justice for a people who are suffering. The Palestinians have put up with enough Zionist crap.

Kudos to Archbishop Tutu, and kudos to PennBDS for securing his support. Tutu is arguably the most important and revered ally the BDS community has.

Congrats to Phil and Adam — and, in a smaller way, all of us.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s commitment to human rights and social justice issues knows no bounds. He is consistently fair minded and has taken many serious risk in his lifetime. What an inspiration he has and continues to be. If folks do not know about the Elders site. Most amazing group of individuals doing remarkable work

For those aware of how different the campus atmosphere was towards the anti apartheid in South Africa movement in the 70’s (some involved in the 60’s) and 80’s know how different and difficult it has been for those who for decades have been trying to encourage and push for more awareness about the I/P on campuses as Archbishop Tutu, Norman Finkelstein, Art Gish and others have been doing. All need to be celebrated. The last five or so years there has been a real shift on college campuses, on blogs(mostly due to Weiss and team, although David Corn did try to have an open dialogue at his blog seven or so years ago that site was really attacked) and a bit in the MSM. The wall is coming down. Hampshire college students efforts need to be recognized and celebrated.
