Izz Tamimi in Nabi Saleh, Friday March 23, 2012. (Photo: JC/ActiveStills)
Today during the weekly Friday demonstrations in Nabi Saleh, family members of political prisoner Bassam Tamimi were wounded with rubber bullets by the Israeli military. 14-year-old Izz al-Abdul Hazfith Tamimi was shot in the face and Usama Bilal Tamimi was shot in the leg. Today’s protest against the wall was also in dedication to Bassam Tamimi, who was arrested one year ago, and hunger striker Hana Shalabi.

According to the linked-to Maan News Agency article, Izz al-Abdul Hazfith Tamimi is 15 years old, which makes him just that much more dangerous to the Jewish state, which, in turn, makes the Occupation Forces of the Jewish state just that much braver for having shot him in the face.
Well 10 years is too old in some cases. Abir Aramin was killed after being shot in the head during a school break when she was buying snacks with her sister and two friends in the West Bank town of Anata. Witnesses gave statements that identified Israeli border guards who fired from a passing jeep. At the time the police insisted that she probably died from a thrown rock from other Palestinians, but an autopsy showed that she was killed by the police with a rubber bullet to the head. It’s his own fault for having a face.
@ RoHa,
I have to admit that, in a cynical way, it did make me chuckle. Turd wrapped in silk? Still a turd [bullet + rubber]
It’s antisemitism, terrorism, antisemitism and antisemitism for a Nonjewish child to throw it’s face into the trajectory of the most moral bullets of the world. An IDF investigation will also show that someone was using the child as a human shield. And the shooter’s going to be promoted because of all the problems the incidence caused him.
14 years old. Scarred for life.
So what’s the protocol for rubber bullets? It’s only rubber, so they shoot it at a Palestinian’s face?
I guess, if Israeli soldiers shoot tear gas canisters at a Palestinian’s face – this is them being the ‘most moral army in the world’.

No, they’re rubber-jacketed steel ammo as quite a few commenters pointed-out in response to an earlier article. link to mondoweiss.net
Ah, the light among the nations…
Unfortunately, since the term “demonstration” covers everything from marching and chanting without any sort of attack to rocks, Molotov cocktails, and attempts by large mobs to attack small groups soldiers and overwhelm them by force of numbers, we have no way of knowing whether this was in self defense or not.
We only have to look at very similar demonstration behavior by haredi gangs or settler gangs to see the vast difference in how they are policed when the demonstrators – who ALSO throw rocks – just so happen to be Jewish of one variety or another. No tear gas canisters or rubber bullets in evidence at those.

I would tell you to read the article clearly for the word, ‘weekly’ for the context but you’re a fanatical racist so your mind was made up.

The article explains each of those violations, and you can read it yourself.

But the more important issue is whether Palestinians have the same right to self-defense. When Palestinians are being occupied and and their land colonized for 45 years (with no end in sight) – what kind of self-defense is acceptable according to your Zionist etiquette?
Let me answer that for you: you are a hypocrite and think Palestinians are sub-human. Hence, the only way you’d even think of using the term ‘self-defense’ is when an Israeli does something bad to a Palestinian. If a Palestinian is being evicted off of his land due to some Zionist bureaucratic b.s. or sent to jail for some trumped up charge of ‘incitement’ or all the other injustices they face daily – you aren’t going to bring up their right to ‘self-defense’.
Anyways, the Israeli soldiers aren’t defending themselves. They are shooting people in the face with rubber bullets (or tear-gas canisters).
@ Fredblogs,
C’mon, we all know the IDF only acts out of elf-defense.
What?
No. No typo. The IDF defends elves and according to the brothers Grimm, when defending elves, all options are on the table [or in your face], thus the life of one elf saved ensures this bloody fairytale continues at least one more day.
“whether this was in self defense or not.”
Yes, the heroes of the most army in the world are incapable of “defending” themselves against a 16 year old child without using the most moral bullets of the world and aiming for his face.
This makes me wince just looking at it (but I’m glad you posted it anyway because it needs to be seen).
Violence as the norm is truly a cancer on those perpetrating it.
Unarmed children against a heavily armed gang of land thieves and kidnappers.
Wear the scars of your courageous resistance with pride.
The original article says Izz Tamimi is 15
Wow ‘skhan’, it’s truly perverse that you are quibbling over his age when the kid has a giant hole in his face (not his mouth, Zionists).
When I wrote that comment there were no other comments had appeared in this section. I guess it takes forever to approve. I am not quibbling. I was simply pointing out the accuracy of what is being posted. Of course his age should not matter, and it is a terrible thing. But information should be accurate.

No shit.
If my first comment in the thread about the Jewish children murdered in France, was about their correct age (being whatever versus whatever, because either way – they’re still kids) – then it would be as perverse as your first comment in this thread.
I can’t even look at the kid’s face. It doesn’t even have to be a Palestinian or anything to do w/ this conflict. It’s just plain shocking. Apparently, though you are deeply concerned that he is being reported as younger than he is (by a year LOL)

Thanks Annie.
These kids truly are amazing, standing up to the armed thugs as they do.
Wow. A grown up adult just walks out of the court he is presiding over because of a 16 year old kid calling him ‘Mafia’? LOL
That kid is the truth.
Amen. Words fail me with regard to this mammon nightmare. But thank God for proof of what they do and thank God for sites like MW.
You’d prefer maybe if he staid there and presided angry? If a judge gets emotional, he should go out and cool down.

No. If the guy is qualified to serve on the bench, I’d prefer that he go home to Israel, sit on a bench there, and leave the Palestinians alone.
Quotation alert: words are important and I mark the most important ones with quote-marks.
The Israelis are perhaps the ideological fathers of the Florida self-defense gun law (deadly force may be used by anyone (“shooter”) who feels he is being or is about to be attacked by his “shootee” — feeling need not be rational, nor need it be investigated by police, to allow the shooter to escape prosecution — if “shooter” is white and “shootee” is black. [Words having situational meaning?]
The Israeli military are the ones who decided that kids throwing stones “at” (meaning “toward”, not necessarily within a distance to actually “hit” or actually “injure” a soldier) were a “threat” which justified the shooting-to-kill of the rock-thrower, sometimes even by a more distant “sniper” whose job is little distinguishable from “mob hit-man” or “murderer” in that he kills on purpose and not as a proportional act of war.

This kid won’t be ‘OK’ without plastic surgery, and perhaps not even then. I met a man in the West Bank who had been shot in the face like this, also just to the right of his lips, and he had had plastic surgery twice and still had a bad scar. With typical Palestinian resilience and humor, he said he was thinking of asking the Israelis to do it again so the two sides of his face would match.
