Yes, I am not a common person.
I have been uniquely burdened
with aches, pains and torture.
I was born here to fight
In tears, for a sniff of life.
No wonder
my name means redemption, sacrifice.
Here is Gaza. Palestine.
Born in pain,
I live;
I love;
I laugh;
In pain
And with pain.
No wonder
I have a rich vein
Of tension
Of strain.
Always I say
The best is yet on its way.
Unaccustomed, I fake a smile.
A sign of defiance, or is it only a lifestyle?
Accustomed, for I am in a fight
For survival. For my right.
No wonder,
I am all smiles.
Yes, I don’t complain.
But I am not alright.
Screams, cries and tears
I always try to hide
Deep inside.
No wonder
I am made to fight.
And my home is
Palestine.

Fidaa, thank you for sharing your poem. What “fight” mean to you? Is it the inner Jihad to remove all your impurities and perfect yourself before Allah?
It is such hard work. And I am failing miserably. :-(
“Unaccustomed, I fake a smile.” I think we should say what we think and do what we say. And not fake smiles. The choice of being happy, peaceful and loving belongs entirely to us. We should choose to be happy all the time (despite however much others abuse and mistreat us.) From your words you have a big heart. You are no doubt doing better at this than I am. :-(

Unrelated, can I ask how many Gazans still commute to work inside Israel? This use to be very common the 1980s and 1990s, although much less so now. How bad is it?
Israel should immediately issue more work, tourist, business, student and daily commute visas to Palestinians. No one would benefit more from this than Israel. Imagine all those smart Palestinians creating new products and leading business inside Israel to greatness.
Why doesn’t Israel do this?
“Why doesn’t Israel do this?”
Gee, what do you think the reason is, “anan”? It is mysterious, given we know how much the Israelis love Palestinians, acknowledge their primacy on the land, and want to do everything they can to improve the lot of the Palestinians.
What do you think the answer is?
I vote to kick this slime off the site.
Yes, he’s that bad…..and this is the first time I have ever been for banning anyone.
“I vote to kick this slime off the site.”
I’m stunned that he’s still allowed to post. He was banned from the 3 sites where he used to operate. People got tired quickly of his insanity.
I second that. A truly repulsive creature. It is such a waste of time to have to wade through his crap and a few others like him. I feel bad for those who spend the effort to respond to people like him to prevent this site from getting overrun. For my part, I have a strict policy of not responding to any of them – however tempting. But, I still have to read their garbage!
Jeez!
“What “fight” mean to you? Is it the inner Jihad to remove all your impurities and perfect yourself before Allah?”
Lol…It’s the fight to recover the land and the country that was stolen from her people ya genius..
anan, ask yourself first: are you even having an internal struggle? Or are you just a concern troll using transparent stupidities and inanities to heap disrespect on the author’s experience?
I vote that you not get banned so that people can continue to be offended by you and know just what attitudes some Jews and Israelis have towards Palestinians and just how far they will go to deny what they have done and still do to Palestinians.
Sadistic personality disorder is:
A) A pervasive pattern of cruel, demeaning, and aggressive behavior, beginning by early adulthood, as indicated by the repeated occurrence of at least four of the following:
Has used physical cruelty or violence for the purpose of establishing dominance in a relationship (not merely to achieve some non-interpersonal goal, such as striking someone in order to rob him/her).
Humiliates or demeans people in the presence of others.
Has treated or disciplined someone under his/her control unusually harshly.
Is amused by, or takes pleasure in, the psychological or physical suffering of others (including animals).
Has lied for the purpose of harming or inflicting pain on others (not merely to achieve some other goal).
Gets other people to do what he/she wants by frightening them (through intimidation or even terror).
Restricts the autonomy of people with whom he or she has a close relationship,
Is fascinated by violence, weapons, injury, or torture.
Interestingly, sadistic behaviour is considered to be a feature of certain upbringing.
Anon, please tell us a little about your Mommy and Daddy?

“Israel should immediately issue more work, tourist, business, student and daily commute visas to Palestinians.”
Far simpler to end the occupation. 64 years is a long time especially considering Israel has never legally annexed any territory it has illegally acquired by war. Apart from having to be truthful to Israeli citizens and the world community and the enormous expenses which would be incurred by Israel finally adhering to the law and UN Charter, why doesn’t Israel do this?
“No one would benefit more from this than Israel. Imagine all those smart Palestinians creating new products and leading business inside Israel to greatness”
How revealing ……
In reference to “anan” et al, am I the only one here who thinks too many trolls are being allowed to post on this forum these days? I’m tired of having to weed through all this drivel to read the real comments here.
cb, i would strongly urge you, and everyone else who feels the same way, to write phil and adam and express your frustration.
i find it especially infuriating so many of our contributors have to endure first thread comments by trolls whose banality often highjacks the threads. please complain!
“I’m tired of having to weed through all this drivel to read the real comments here.”
Always happens when Phil goes away. Happened to another Jewish guy who had a blog, too. That’s where the expression “While Katz’s away…” comes from.
I think Blankfort was right that some who pull strings here and whisper to Phil, had him banned. And when Phil is away perhaps the worst among them let more BS through… Maybe Phil will clean house some day.
“am I the only one here who thinks too many trolls are being allowed to post on this forum these days? I’m tired of having to weed through all this drivel to read the real comments here.”
I don’t like this. It seems authoritarian to me. I understand the frustration of everyone here, but shutting people out is not the answer in my opinion. I vote against the stifling of anyone’s speech. A quick reminder to everyone: you don’t have to respond to them. What’s the point of disallowing someone from saying something, if we can just ignore them and carry on? In my view, you should be more upset with the people who pile onto the trolls, posting 10 replies to 1 comment. Its amazing how clean threads stay when people just let Dimster and Easy-E’s say their peace and crawl back under their respective rocks.
The “Ima Gonna Bash Me Some Ziobots Today” Crowd is just as responsible, if not more so.
Most folks here didn’t like the banning of Blankfort; myself included. My view is, everyone should have been just as upset over the banning of Witty. Let’s leave the shunning, excommunicating and blacklisting for others.
Dan,
I am one of the most fervent supporters of free speech, and I usually do not respond to trolls. However, there comes a point when the signal-to-noise ratio of a site becomes so unbearable that it starts to shed valuable contributors, resulting in a death spiral.
I don’t know that this site is anywhere near that threshold, but the noise level has been rising a lot recently.
“In my view, you should be more upset with the people who pile onto the trolls, posting 10 replies to 1 comment. Its amazing how clean threads stay when people just let Dimster and Easy-E’s say their peace and crawl back under their respective rocks.” (Crowther)
Yes. I completely agree.
@Dan, I agree, it would be ideal if everyone just ignored these people but I’m not sure if it’s possible to get everyone to do that, unless the moderators delete every post responding to the trolls. I generally try to ignore them but as Annie said when the first response to a thread like this is something so outrageous and idiotic it’s hard to just let it stand. I’m not saying ban all of them, just the most prolific ones.
@Annie, thanks, but doesn’t Phil or another moderator read the comments on here?
phil has been traveling in israel/palestine for the last few weeks. the chance he’s even intercepted 2 of anan’s dozens and dozens of
commentsspam over that period is practically nil. perhaps you missed the ‘lull’ thread, but i think some people have either been on holiday or attending to family matters. i had a guest visiting from gaza for ten days and often get get a chance to visit the site til the middle of the night.anyway, my opinion is it really matters when you write in to make complaints, especially when multiple people do. i got pissed recently when anan entered a 2 week old syria thread and started spamming it with outrageous allegations. i wrote them but they hear from me all the time. it helps when there’s support from the readers. really. so write them.
@Annie I will do that. IMO it’s nice to keep a couple of them here for comic relief, but not 9 or 10 bots. Personally I don’t come here to be bombarded with stale hasbara talking points, or to get in debates with these apologists. I’ve had a lifetimes worth of that from the MSM and other websites already, thank you very much.
it’s not fair when ziobots rule the threads and post insatiably.
annie- It may not be fun or interesting or elucidating, but it certainly is fair.
oh please! it’s not like we’ve got billionaires funding our presence here.
So long as things don’t return to a Richard Witty level of distraction and noise.
fidaa, thank you once again for gracing MW with another of your always excellent (and often surprising) contributions. this time..a fighting poem! one of these days we will get your archives sorted out so all of your writing here is organized.
Yes, thank you fidaa.
I like that fighting poem.
For the sake of honest folk anan and kind ought be allowed to post ….. just enough for it to be shown how low they will stoop, how far away they are from the basic tenets of Judaism, how empty their arguments are and what ghastly people are attracted to support the Zionist colonization project.
They’re a microcosm of Israeli leadership, Israeli’s occupation tactics and the psychology behind striving for a Greater Israel
“how far away they are from the basic tenets of Judaism”
Talknic. Just an aside info. Anan is an Indian who lives in the US.
