Geyer says ‘many Americans’ are displeased with special relationship

This is bracing. In a piece on the Obama trip and America’s growing impatience with the special relationship, columnist and author Georgie Anne Geyer is frank about the sources of the Israel lobby’s power in the U.S., Jewish donors to the political process. I happen to agree with her– follow the money; and most Jews are Zionists– but agree or not, it’s the willingness to address the donor issue frankly that distinguishes her from Chris Matthews.

It’s a difficult relationship, that’s for sure, as Israel persists in the belief that the two countries, despite their mismatched size, have exactly the same strategic interests, and thus will never be called to honesty about their natural disparities. What that really means is that the U.S. must always be ready to supply Israel, whatever the threat and whatever its needs.

Many Americans have not been pleased with this imbalance between the two powers, and over the years these critics have tried to create an American/Israeli relationship that is more reasonable, that does not use Jewish campaign contributions to the party in power to ensure Israel’s every wish, and that would build a relationship that is fairer to both parties. But each time, these efforts have been derailed.

Maybe one day the Americans will hold Muslims nations to account for acts of war they have instigated, instad of awarding them financial and military aid.

This is true.
I know a lot of anti zionist Jews don’t want to believe Zionism( active support for Israel) is as wide spread among the Jewish community as it is because it raises the disloyal or higher loyalty to Israel issue.
But this exactly why it should be at least addressed. Perhaps it would do no good, not influence Jews on the insanity of the nation within a nation practice, or do no good because the big zionist money carries more weight regardless of what the majority of Jews are for or against.
I don’t know….its a real can of worms. I don’t honestly see any solution to the Israeli fetish in the US among Jews or any others like the Christo Zios that doesn’t come from some really bad event that shakes it all up, or at the mildest, some awakening as the Zionist behave even more aggressively against Americans welfare.

You know what we aren’t seeing in the slight media breakthru on Israel?….we aren’t seeing Chris Hayes or anyone giving the public the skinny on what Israel has cost Americans in $$$$….the foreign aid, the financial favoritism toward Jewish groups even domestically in the US.
They won’t do that—because that is ‘the dynamite’ for the Jewish Lobby…..which means dynamite for the Jews….it would be called ‘incitement’ and anti semitism.
I don’t know if this cost to Americans will come out in some kind of ending to the zionist grip on the US or not, and I have no real idea how it will end, I just don’t see how it can continue forever. It may end in a blow up or it may peter out quietly if we ever get a WH who puts a lid on the Israel lobbies and orgs —I see little hope of that though, not as long as big donor money controls elections.

most Jews are Zionists-

so i have ask are you a zionists phil

Follow the money.
