Students at settler university are not invited to Obama’s inspirational address

Big news in Ynet: The US gov’t is taking a “unilateral stance,” in not inviting students from a settler university to Obama’s speech next week. Important signal, thanks to Max Blumenthal:

The American Embassy invited student representatives from all universities to the president’s speech at Jerusalem’s International Convention Center, save those from the Ariel University.

Habayit Hayehudi already responded on Tuesday night, calling it discrimination and demanding clarifications from the embassy regarding the exclusion of students from this institution, which received official recognition as a university just two months ago

Oh the crust of these folks.

Oh, how indirect the Obamas can be. Oh, this is not BDS, oh no!, merely a non-invitation. cannot have everybody, can we.

However: Did he invite students from Palestinian universities?

Yes, I like this, as apparently does Max. Obamaesque subtle coldness. But if one is committed to looking past the apparently delusional 2ss, should one care?

Yes, how does Obama articulate the who’s in who’s out. I expect he’ll cave and invite them.

” Did he invite students from Palestinian universities?”

Did he? Anybody know?

I doubt it, but….

A whispered protest if I ever heard one (the quiet non-invitation). And those Ariel folks would be very wise to STFU, because they are still effectively getting more support than they could reasonably hope for given, well, reality, and this tiny snub pretty much means nothing. And yet there they are, b**ching and demanding satisfaction. I’ve never seen the like.
