‘When I go into the class, I am preparing tomorrow’s citizens for the next war’

This poster is at Facebook. It is at the Tzahal site, the Israeli army, and is an official Israel Defense Forces poster. Ofer Neiman supplies the translation:

“When I go into the classroom, I know I am preparing tomorrow’s citizens for the next war”.

(Can you imagine a bleaker vision for a society? And when you see this exalting of the military, do you understand why some critics speak of fascist currents in Israeli society?)

A home front soldier (Orange means home front) in an Arab school explaining to kids what to do in case of missile attacks.
Definitely a fascist current …

Oh there it is.

The Home Front Command prepares schools and businesses across the country from all of Israel’s communities for emergency situations

Cpl. Nestia Golubovsky finds herself in a different part of Israel every week. This Civil Emergency Instructor travels around the country to teach schoolchildren how to prepare for an emergency, and how to stay safe if they find themselves in an emergency situation. Today, she’s at a local elementary school in Kfar Qara, an Israeli Arab village in the north.

Israel is a militarized society. Of course it has these currents. The majority of the world, yourself included, want to end Israel. Israelis live in a world just a fraction removed from kill or die. But overtime as they win their wars the need for that level of militarism will pass. But that vision is not for this generation. To quote an American from a similar time in our history:

I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain.

Sounds plausible Oleg and you may be right. But unfortunately for the Israelis that may not be the way it will be perceived. In many peoples minds nowadays Israel is perceived as an overly aggressive actor. Looks more like the IDF’s PR dept unwittingly scored an own goal.

Nice to know the Israeli tank is made to save IDF lives as 1st priority. In the goy West, we don’t much care about our goy enlisted soldiers. They are easily moron expendable. We’re so proud of that!
