Steve Israel, the Long Island congressman, is visiting the country that bears his name on a trip paid for by AIPAC, the Israel lobby. As we’ve noted, Israel (the man not the country) has been stung by criticisms.
Well, on Wednesday Israel met with Netanyahu:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked US lawmakers Wednesday to help fend off Palestinian claims that his country engaged in “war crimes” while defending itself against attacks from Gaza, one top lawmaker told The [New York] Post…
“The prime minister asked us to work together to ensure that this strategy of going to the ICC does not succeed,” Rep. Israel told The Post by phone from Tel Aviv.
But you can’t find the Netanyahu meeting anywhere on Steve Israel’s twitter feed. Mikey Weiss is there:

Jake Tapper and Shimon Peres and WCBS radio make it. Not the prime minister. I wonder if Israel is afraid about how that would go over with his base. Also nothing on this press release about Netanyahu, though he talks up “America’s greatest ally.”

Maybe he stuck his finger in the wind to test the waters and found Netanyahu’s star was waning? (what a mash up!) In Israel as it is back home? I wonder how soon there’ll be elections, and who’ll be the next Israeli PM. I suspect he’s too arrogant to consider his constituents opinions. Just like his namesake the country.
