Ads Against Apartheid hits LA with Mandela campaign

LA is inundated with billboards! Ads Against Apartheid‘s (AAA) National ad campaign for Palestinian human rights launched earlier this month in Los Angeles and is in full swing with more than 30 billboards at various locales across the city. Included in the campaign are trucks driving through metropolitan streets and neighborhoods during crammed holiday traffic showcasing Nelson Mandela’s famous quote: “Our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.”

Take a look just a few of the many locations:

Bringing the Debate to You

National ad campaign:

Ads Against Apartheid (AAA) just launched its first campaign in Los Angeles, California! It will run on more than 30 small billboards and trucks across the city over a period of two months. The ads, which highlight South African liberation leader Nelson Mandela’s powerful statement of solidarity with the Palestinian people, represent AAA’s first effort on the West Coast.

This new campaign comes at a critical time in the region. Palestinians, particularly those in Jerusalem, are facing some of the worst repression in years. Excessive use of force by the Israeli police, rapidly increasing settler violence, and restrictions on access to the Haram Al-Sharif have lead Palestinian communities all over Israel/Palestine to protest, and in a few tragic instances, to commit acts of violence.

“It is important for Americans to understand where Palestinians’ frustration comes from,” Ads Against Apartheid board member Richard Colbath-Hess explained. “Israel is applying increasingly brutal force as it seeks to maintain the horribly unjust status quo, but there is no security-based solution to what is, at it’s core, a civil and human rights problem.”

Check out Ads Against Apartheid’s website for more information how Israeli apartheid today compares to 1940’s American and South African apartheid.

Annie

Thank you for connecting us to the struggle, near and far…..like food for the soul…

Annie, those trucks are brilliant, and unmissable, and bound to start people asking questions.

Great news Annie, this is indeed a breakthrough for those who keep fighting for the rights of the Palestinians and apartheid policies by Israel.

This must make them feel the wrath of the world too, especially at a time when the Palestinians are in the process of bidding for statehood:

“UN to Israel: Pay Lebanon $850 million for 2006 oil spill
The United Nations General Assembly approves a resolution calling for Israel to compensate Lebanon for damages caused by an IAF strike during the S

The UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly approved a resolution asking Israel to pay Lebanon over $850 million in damages for an oil spill caused by an Israeli air force attack on oil storage tanks during its war with Hezbollah in July 2006.

The assembly voted 170-6 in favor of the nonbinding resolution, with three abstentions. Israel, the United States, Canada, Australia, Micronesia and Marshall Islands voted “no.”

The resolution says “the environmental disaster” caused by the destruction of the tanks resulted in an oil slick that covered the entire Lebanese coastline and extended to the Syrian coastline, causing extensive pollution.

The assembly acknowledged the conclusions in a report by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that studies show the value of damage to Lebanon amounted to $856.4 million in 2014.” Haaretz

Finally, the world is holding Israel accountable!

In Los Angeles, I have noted billboards that read: Hamas Wants To Destroy Israel. Those knowledgeable about the I/P situation know how disingenuous that is, but for the Fox News crowd, it inspires irrational fears of Goliath threatening David. The roving billboard is an effective message delivery tool.

It,s getting so a peace loving most moral zionist cannot walk/drive around the city of angels without seeing these blood libels and antisemitic attacks on the most moral nation ever to hit this corner of the universe.

Pamela , where are you.Are you going to let them destroy the only nation state of the Jewish people and light unto the nations.
