There were over 130 Israeli settler attacks on Palestinians during the first week of October

Although settler violence has been getting more media attention since the firebombing that killed three Palestinians this summer, the true scale of the violence is still under-reported. In fact, there have been more than 130 Israeli settler attacks on Palestinians in the last week, according to the PLO’s Negotiations Affairs Department.

Here is a timeline of those attacks (documentation here). This violence coincides with the murder of an Israeli settler couple on October 1 and tension over the al-Aqsa compound in Jerusalem.

To put this spike in violence in perspective, here is a chart produced by the PLO’s Negotiations Affairs Department showing Israeli settler attacks by month.

US cable TV news infotainment shows only say a Jewish woman was stabbed.

Each serious phase in the Israel-Palestine conflict has its own particular characteristics, which is the nature of the Palestinian attempt and that of the Israeli response. Just about anything was already tried by the Palestinians (or Arab countries around) – wars with armies, terror, economic embargo, missiles, kidnapping and so on – but then there is always a new way that give rise to with a new hope in the Palestinian side.
The present one is the low-tech level of stabbing or stones/Molotov-cocktail throwing done in an unorganized way. It means that all the heavy weaponry that Israel possesses, the sophisticated surveillance of Palestinian organized groups and the control of arms are of no use – whence the new hope. However, a new way gives rise to a new mode of response. And that`s exactly what is being reported here – namely, the settlers now respond directly. While until now it was always (apart from marginal exceptions) Israeli forces countering threats (and people) now it is people reacting on their own against people from the other side.
If the troubles persist – which is not clear because the Palestinian leadership sees the dangers and is also aware of what goes on in the region (so don`t want to rock a relatively calm boat) – this will be the first time when the conflict will get reshaped into this new mode: people vs. people – a more symmetric kind of warfare.

MY COMMENT: The cycle of violence* goes round and round! ! !

Barbara Erickson , in her TimesWarp post today decrying the NYT ‘s one sided focus on Israeli casualties, included the below astounding and awful figures (taken from a UN report ):

“Nowhere [in a NYT report] do we learn that the major victims of violence in this turbulent conflict are Palestinians, not Israelis, as revealed in a recent United Nations report: In one week, ending Oct. 5, Israeli security forces injured 794 Palestinians, while Palestinians injured a total of seven Israelis. (As of Oct. 5, 30 Palestinians had been killed in 2015 compared with eight Israelis.)”

This is what genocide looks like.

oh my…the hysterical ‘:genocide” chestnut. again. growing population. growing influence. more monies coming in (at least to the so-called ‘leaders’-billionaires/millionaires Abbas and PA, PLO and Hamas officials. Palestinians all over the world legally (and mostly in Israel) attending schools, working, protesting. this is really what the author, MW and their true-believing flock believe is the face of “genocide”.

last week there were at least 122 ‘attacks’ by Palestinians against Jewish Israelis with rocks, slings, cinder blocks, knives, guns and more. It was probably more like 144 but why quibble when only one side matters here and everything is cut and dry-as if it were actual.

either the author is outright and baldfaced lying, is using the most horrendously bigoted, twisted and ignorant definition of ‘genocide’ , is deluded past the point of rationality -or- the Israelis are the absolute worst practitioners of ‘genocide’ in all history.
