Adelson-owned newspaper denies Rubio endorsement came from Adelson

Yet another sign that the Adelson primary is over, and the man who floated the last Republican presidential campaign is going for FL Sen. Marco Rubio. NBC News:

Sheldon Adelson-Owned Las Vegas Newspaper Endorses Rubio

The Las Vegas Review-Journal endorsed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio for the Republican nomination Friday, saying their reasons for the endorsement are “many.”

Washington Post reporter Ed O’Keefe sees the writing on the wall:

The Review-Journal denies that it’s tipping Adelson’s hand.

The RJ met with Sen. Rubio on Oct. 9, two months before the announcement of the newspaper’s sale to the family of Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson. The Adelsons have detached themselves from our endorsement process, and our endorsement of Sen. Rubio does not represent the support of the family.

Donald Trump didn’t do an audition:

When we began this process, we made it clear to candidates that they had to meet with us to gain consideration for our endorsement. We made many attempts to meet with businessman and Republican front-runner Donald Trump, but he could not work an interview into his schedule.

I thought Miriam liked Cruz. Well, she and Sheldon probably have their own beds by now.

That’s why Rubio has been acting so smug lately. He’s got that look like big cash just rolled in and he’s going to be propelled to the front of the line. His wife must be measuring the drapes already; that’s how sure of himself he’s been looking lately. YUCK.

Does Adelson have an Israeli security escort? Sure looks like it in that picture.

America… Zionist rig.

In the 2012 election, Adelson gave $5M to Newt Gingrich early on, and tons more to Mitt Romney later on, for a total that year of $100M.

This year, let’s guess who will be the beneficiary of Adelson’s campaign donation.

Give up?

May I have the envelope please!!!…I predict…Marco Rubio!

Surprised?

Me neither.

Wasn’t there news floating around that Adelson had given Cruz 5 million, either to his super pac or his campaign? Maybe just a test balloon in case Rubio collapsed in NH(while it now looks like there will be a three-way race in the GOP).

Anyway, this is very predictable. Rubio is the establishment puppy, just like Clinton. It won’t help, because the GOP can’t win elections anymore, but in a sense I hope he gets the nomination. It would seriously plunge the party into deep crisis when he (inevitably) loses, thereby making sure we get endless Trumps and Cruzes, and as a result permanent WH control and possibly even permanent congressional control after the 2020 gerrymandering.

MY COMMENT: I couldn’t help but notice that the very same Adelson-owned newspaper (The Las Vegas Review-Journal) has had nearly a dozen articles in the last week or so about its “massa’s”* plans for seeking $780 million in public financing in order to build a $1.2 billion domed stadium on 42 acres near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas that would house the school’s football team — and . . . [a very pregnant pause] . . . , God willing, a National Football League franchise! ! !

[EXCERPT] Las Vegas desperately needs a new stadium. For that to happen, the city desperately needs a plan for a new stadium. Last week, we got one. And it’s the most viable project pitch the region has seen since aging Sam Boyd Stadium was conceived nearly 50 years ago. . .

“Public funding would cover two-thirds of UNLV stadium costs” | By Howard Stutz | Las Vegas Review-Journal | January 30, 2016
[EXCERPT] A domed stadium proposed for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas football team has a price tag of $1.2 billion, and developers would seek $780 million in public financing, according to a document provided by Las Vegas Sands Corp., which is leading a consortium behind the project.
Private investors would contribute $420 million toward the planned 65,000-seat stadium, with various tourist-driven tax sources — commercial conveyance on taxicabs, rental car taxes or hotel room taxes — providing the bulk of the funding. . .

“At $780 million, potential subsidy for Las Vegas stadium at front of the pack
| By Alan Snel | Las Vegas Review-Journal | February 3, 2016
[EXCERPT] Early figures show Las Vegas Sands’s ask for tourism-based taxes for its joint project with UNLV would be among the biggest ever for an NFL-ready stadium. The size of Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s stadium subsidy ask bucks current trends in the funding of football stadium construction, sports economists say.
Private developers and teams are paying more toward the cost of NFL stadiums than ever before, based on private/public cost splits for recent projects involving the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers and the recently relocated Los Angeles Rams. . . .
