  • My friends say I'm being too nice to Hamas
  • What I said to the couple holding a banner with a swastika on it
    • Using the "N word" to express hatred for Obama would be as bad as using some racist word for Jews to express hatred for Jewish collaborators with the (original) Nazis. I think, BTW, that it is acceptable to follow Malcolm X and call somebody like Obama a "house Negro", although it isn't quite fair to the real "house Negroes" under slavery who quite often aided the "field Negroes" against the slave-masters.

    • Not even if it makes certain people uncomfortable, but, in part, because it does! Making supporters, including critical supporters, of Israel uncomfortable should be one of our aims.

    • George Washington a "freedom fighter"??? Tell that to his slaves and to the indigenous peoples he slaughtered and whose stolen lands made him extremely wealthy! He was a far more appropriate model for the Zionists than for those rebelling against them.

    • Those kibbutzim were built, usually with full knowledge, if not active complicity, of their originators, on land from which Palestinians had just been driven by Zionist terror. If those South American Jews want to live in peace, they should go back to their own countries. And if they are Sephardic Jews, they can now go back to Spain with full citizenship rights.

    • Carrying a sign with just a swastika on it is wrong if you are trying to affirm that the Israeli state is Nazi-like. Rather, one should carry a sign with two horizontal blue lines and a swastika in the middle. Nobody will interpret that as a support for either the German or the Israeli version of Naziism. (Well, almost nobody, anyway.)

  • Elie Wiesel plays the Holocaust trump card in Gaza
    • So, if a colonized and brutalized people resist that colonization with some (unfortunately insufficient) violence, the colonizers have an excuse to continue killing the children of the colonized?

The "blood libel" isn't a libel any more, because it's true!

  • The deafening silence around the Hamas proposal for a 10-year truce
  • Mr. Modi-- do not court apartheid Israel in my name
    • When people refer here to “the international community” as being critical of Israel, they are presumably referring to human beings, not governments and purchased politicians. If the latter are quite willing, and all-too-often able, to cajole and terrorize their populations into not resisting attacks on their own living conditions at the behest of the international bankers, is it surprising that those populations don't actively resist their governments when they also go along with global capital in supporting racist, European-supremacist Israel?

  • US Jews occupy Israeli army support office in NY in civil disobedience action
    • Friends of the IDF is clearly an organization that, applying the standards that the U.S. applies to Muslim groups, gives material support to terrorism. Fortunately for them, so is the U.S. Congress, so there's not much chance that they have to worry about being prosecuted.

  • Gaza onslaught is p.r. problem for Israel's 'moral authority' -- Albright
  • The fascists wanted to murder us: An eyewitness account of Haifa's anti-war protest
    • Are the "Palestinian community leaders" you claim to be channeling, presuming they exist at all, leaders of Palestinian resistance to Zionist oppression or leaders of the Palestinian equivalent of the Judenräte in occupied Europe? Please provide citations!

  • About Mondoweiss
    • Excuse the change of subject, but could you folks post somewhere on the site instructions on how to change one's login password for this site? I can't remember the arbitrary string of characters that was emailed to me as my password when I signed up, and I assume others might have the same problem.

If I'm just being dense and missing the obvious, the moderators should feel free to delete this and send me a private email instead.

  • After Islamophobic hate crime in New York City, mayor wants public to 'keep death in perspective'
    • One indication of just how ignorant and/or stupid most extreme racists are is this killer's lumping together of Muslims and Hindus. Perhaps she doesn't know that, going back at least to the end of WWII, the greatest amount of anti-Muslim violence in the world has been committed by Hindus, often with overt or covert state sanction, in India and Indian-occupied Kashmir, and that Hindu-dominated India has very good relations with those other Islamophobic countries, Israel and the U.S..

I don't mean here to denounce the totality of Hindus. It is the politically dominant portions of the Hindu-identified population of India that are the problem, not only for Muslims but for Dalits, most of whom are nominally Hindu, but treated as pariahs, 'untouchables', within Hinduism.

  • Assange's first guest on RT world premier: Nasrallah says US & Israel seek civil war in Syria
    • It's been quite normal for a long time for the U.S. and "Al Qaeda" to be on the same side while continuing to denounce, and even attack, each other. Before Syria there was Libya, before that, Kosovo, and, before that, Bosnia. And those are just the cases that come to mind.

  • Red flags over Gaza: Palestinian leftists rally for Hana Shalabi
    • I don't know if it's 'Heartwarming', but it's certainly proper for the left -- without subordinating itself politically to them -- to join with non-leftist, even rightist, sectors of the colonized population in defense against the imperialist-backed colonizers.

OTOH, it's pretty bad when leftists join with 'jihadists' and other rightists in an alliance with the imperialists, as many did and are doing in Libya and Syria.

  • An angry Obama warns the lobby that the 'world is moving too fast' (to preserve a Jewish state)
    • The Zionists are a small but clever criminal enterprise that has managed to 'persuade' the members of a much larger and more powerful criminal enterprise -- the one known as the United States of America -- that the interests of the two crime syndicates, which certainly overlap in membership, are totally identical. If, as is often claimed, this myth weakens the latter, more powerful, criminal entity, I see no reason why those who care about the great majority of the human and other beings on the planet that are victims of this larger, 'American', syndicate should want to convince the leaders and supporters of the latter of their error. Rather, let's hope that the U.S. criminals continue to act stupidly, so that they will be weakened and, consequently, all the lesser criminals that depend on them will be weakened or eliminated as well.

  • Kushner's 'It was a mistake' quote, and its context
    • Does the political-economic-military entity known as "United States of America" have a "right to exist"?

      No! A thousand times, 'No'!

While the nearly 500 years of crimes against humanity and Planet Earth that have led to the existence of the 'United States' as it is presently constituted cannot, for the most part, be reversed, the European-'Americans' who regard themselves as the rightful masters of that entity have no more right to the land they occupy (and its resources) than anybody else on the planet has to that same land. And they certainly have no right to defend that entity or its borders, especially since they have never let any borders restrain their own lust for the land and resources of others.

The right of European-'Americans' and those 'Americans' from non-European continents who identify with them to continue living on the land they occupy should be contingent on their sharing it with others and on their NOT using it as a base for the continued looting of the resources and labor of the rest of the world.

The same applies, mutatis mutandis, to 'Israel' and the land of Palestine.
