Can we try to turn this law on its head and go after AIPAC, ADL and their ilk for their support of one of the main terrorist regimes in the Middle East?
Quack quack :-)
Hopefully you realize how much you have and how lucky you really are :-)
Just another normal day in the Soviet Unio... err...
Disagree with you on this one, Mr. Weiss.
There is a conflict between Arabs and Israelis (really, Jews of the diaspora too - in the final analysis 95%+ of them support Israel, and are not ashamed to admit it).
The Arabs organize to protest and do propaganda - really, the only thing they can do. The organizations of Hezbollah and Hamas are really now defensive in nature (because of overwhelming Israeli military power) - they cannot undertake any offensive actions.
This is taking place all over the world.
The leftists and anarchists that join the Arabs raising hell in Europe (and perhaps other places) are just that - a fringe.
As a European raised boy, I have no love for the backward, incompatible with European culture and tradition Moslem peoples who in a great majority of cases do not assimilate.
As an American (and I say this ad nauseum), the only beef I have with Israel is how dual loyalty citizens have assumed control of this nation, to the detriment of its people and its greatness, up to involving this nation in a global war with the whole of Islam.
Realistically, USA should be on the side of the Arabs, as we want their oil.
Israel does not give nor provide anything for this country, except trouble.
Due to Israeli agents of influence, we are in a war in Iraq.
Due to Israeli agents of influence, the whole Arab world hates us.
Something must be done, we CANNOT allow this small (yet rich, powerful and close to centers of power) minority hijack this country indefinitely.
"It was written by Jay Marcus, who is listed as being from New York. That's funny, because when we looked into Jay while researching the Central Fund he lived in the West Bank settlement Efrat."
That... that is just funny.
Well, this won't be reported in the American MSM, and The Forward will write a nice article about an anti semitic man being destroyed in a debate by a god's chosen one.
"As a single person moving to Israel, my aliyah payment would be about $4,000 (families get about $14,000), and I’d receive the first installment upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport—in cash; free health care for a year; five months of free Hebrew classes; free tuition for a BA and/or masters degree; rent subsidy for five years (about $60/mo for a single, $105/mo for families); job counseling; a 70-90% reduced property tax; low mortgage rates; and more.
American taxpayers pay for this.
This is what has to get out."
THIS IS WHAT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH, however.
Personally, I have absolutely no problems with this.
Zero.
If you are an American citizen of Jewish heritage, but identify strongly with Israel to the point that you want to move there and become an Israeli - DO IT!
More power to you.
Then there are no questions of dual loyalty, or the tired old meme that "Israeli interests are the same as America's".
That is why I like the Israeli ambassador to America - who became an Israeli after being born here.
What I cannot stand is "americans" who sing Ha'tikvah in a synagogue, send their sons to fight in the IDF, to kibbutzes, support Israel over USA's interests and then call someone a bigot or an anti-semite when somene dares to bring up dual loyalty.
Those NBC anti semites! Why do they hate freedom and support terrorism?!
"Even though the IDF retracted its claim about Al Qaida operatives and was forced to concede that its “Auschwitz” audio clip was doctored, Israeli and American media outlets that reported the army’s claims have not corrected their stories. "
Double take, cartoon style.
Or, the Jon Stewart 'Whaaaaaaaaaaa?!'.
"John Mearsheimer makes a different argument, which I will call the Moral Hazard of the Israel Lobby. His logic, which I find helpful for understanding Israel’s strategic missteps, is that the promise of unquestioning U.S. support has, like the government bailout of the Savings and Loan industry, fostered a culture of risk-taking within the Israeli political elite (as it did among U.S. bankers) that leads them to ignore the costs and risks of the questionable strategic decisions they have made, particularly since 1967."
That is not a bad theory there, Mr. Mearsheimer .
Makes sense.
What about Americans serving in the IDF, and then coming back to USA?
Lets start with the trained in Israel, superb agent of influence Rahm Emanuel...
So many great comments, such a great post, I feel humbled.
I apologize in advance for my tidbit.
"That new glass ceiling, one that is evident in places like the east coast intelligensia, the media, the msm, law, academia, finance and economics, is becoming visible and is being resented far more than the jewish elite is willing to acknowledge".
This.
This is what irks me, on top of my tax money going to abet an oppressive, apartheid regime. I am a 2nd class citizen in my own (adopted) country.
Another thing, completely off topic - Phil, dig up vid (vids?) of Jon Stewart debating William Kristol.
I could spot a palpable behind the scenes combat going on, something that flew right over the head of 99% of the viewership of the show. They could sense it, but they did not know what it was.
What it was was twofold - it was a fight for the soul of America. Jews, in the ascendant, were fighting over the soul of America and the direction of it.
Kristol was grinning ear to ear and laughing, saying with his eyes and his double entendres "Why are you doing what you are doing? Look at these schleps, these goyim, they are not worth it - just use them, wring them out for yours and mine benefit and be done with them".
While Jon represented that other side of Jews - "We might be perhaps smarter and perhaps more fortunate than most in America now, our peer support network is tremendous, but we should use that to not just enrich ourselves and our tribe, but help all others here - and in the world around us - also".
That is what I saw.
Waxing a bit poetic here.
Two tremendous forces in America in combat - wonder which side will win?
Apologies for my post, now back to the intelligent comments on the site.
An occupation dehumanizes both the victims and the occupiers.
Read up on police battalion 101 - a unit of ordinary German policemen, and what happens when they are ordered to "protect their country" during WW2.
Hi everybody.
1) The Holocaust was a terrifying reality. If any of you have any doubts about Germans organized mass murder of Jews (and many other "undesirables") please come to Poland and see Auschwitz for yourself.
2) The original AEI article seems to be gone (sorry) but my quote from it is extensive.
""From an historical point of view, all of this has a great and strange irony behind it. Where, in fact, does this eleven million number come from? Yes, it came from Simon Wiesenthal, the Nazi hunter. But where did he get it? Yehuda Bauer, the Holocaust historian, was puzzled by this question. As he has written, “The total number of non-Jewish concentration camp victims is about half a million--which is half a million too many, but it is not five million. On the other hand, the total number of dead in World War II has been estimated at thirty-five million. Deduct the nearly six million Jews, and you have many more than Wiesenthal’s five million. Yet there was no premeditated plan to murder all these people--all the members of any group. If you were a Polish peasant or city-dweller and you avoided resistance and other types of opposition, you would have suffered, no doubt, but you would not have been targeted for murder. To call what happened to the non-Jewish victims ‘the Holocaust’ is ‘simply’ false.” So where did Wiesenthal get the number eleven million, including five million non-Jews? In a private conversation, Bauer asked him that very question. And Wiesenthal told Bauer where he had gotten it. He told him that he had “invented” it. That’s right, he had made it up! And why had he invented it? He had invented it, Bauer wrote in 1989, “in order to make the non-Jews feel like they are part of us.”"
Did you catch that?
He INVENTED the number of non-Jewish victims of the camps.
I was flabbergasted.
Again, this is NOT a denial of the Holocaust - this is a question of the numbers.
This is fascinating stuff for an (very) amateur historian like myself.
And just in case some doofus correlates Axis history forum with anti-semitist hangout, that site is perhaps the best historical site out there.
May I also recommend Zegota and possible polish revisionism:

This is a late comment, probably no one will read it, but what the heck, I needed to throw it out there about Elie.
Elliot, I assume Jews have cars, yes? :)
Funnily enough, I also live on the Chicago, er, riviera...
"Hannah Rosenthal, Obama’s aide in charge of fighting anti-Semitism"
Uhhhh... WHAT?!
"I wondered how the facts of what’s going on in the Middle East could be so different from what I’ve seen in the American media my entire life."
GREAT.
Now feel free to apply this "my eyes are opened" to all kinds of topics and how American mainstream media covers them (or doesn't cover), not just AIPAC.
The power of the Israel lobby is very significant also because it shows how ludicrous the political system is in the USA, when a foreign power holds the major say in American foreign policy.
Now look at the healthcare insurance lobby, the private prison lobby... the list is endless.
The Israeli Lobby is just the most ludicrous example of a wider problem.
Israel’s security is "synonymous with our own"
Agreed.
The more Israel makes it clear that Jews everywhere else have dual loyalty and are more loyal to it than their countries of birth the more resentment there is, and the goyim take their blinders off.
Israel is now a danger to the Jews not living in it, because this resentment and feelings of being a second class citizen in your own country to a religious/ethnic(?) minority is galling for many and affects their feelings towards the "chosen" people.
It looks like the old guard of Israel and AIPAC (the elders of Zion, one may jokingly call them) are seeing cracks in the monolithic support of Israel, especially from young humanist Jews horrified by things like Lebanon war, Sabra and Shatilla massacres, etc.
This is too funny for words! :-)
Thank You for this - made my day.
"Hence, instead of engaging in “Hasbara,” Israel needs to engage in a comprehensive “war of perception” that is coordinated on all fronts – the media, the legal arena, and the diplomatic stage."
Sue more plus more effective propaganda techniques. Lovely plan.
"We should also enlist the help of the best Jewish minds in the world for this cause."
Cough, dual loyalty, cough...
"For example, willingness to show diplomatic flexibility and agree to freeze settlement construction for a year – something Obama is almost begging for – would boost his status in the region and indirectly boost our own status as well. "
A tactical stop, to be reneged on later. A sorta "ceasefire" with the understanding that war will restart in the very near future.
"The siege we imposed on Gaza has already caused us damage on the global front that is greater than any security damage to be caused by the release of several hundred murders to the West Bank. "
Translation: Lets release some of these 13 year old stone throwing kids and their mothers; those kind of "murderers"...
I am so sorry.
She came across as a genuine good person, one of those people who come in and light up the room with their inner light.
She has a good soul.
She will be missed on this world.
One of the true "good guys".
“The problem of minority men is well-known,” said the chief of the youth department, Moshe Spektor. “Our attempts to deal with this problem are real and sincere"...
Read this again, in a loud voice.
Let it sink in...
Let me guess.
Let me guess...
The agenda is: Iran is a grave danger to, uh, um, er, America, yeah, that's the ticket, and we, I mean, America, needs to bomb those, um, savages, so that Israeli security, er, um, American security improves.
Also, rise of new global anti-semitism - everywhere! Film at 11.
I think everyone here is overanalyzing this movie.
This is a snuff movie.
The guy who plays the sadistic, inhuman, unfeeling baseball bashing head guy is Eli Roth - he played the same sadistic, gimp in Hostel.
I have not seen Hostel - I simply do not believe that a movie that shows torture for over an hour - we are talking continous, hard core torture, with guts, blood, things cut out - is entertainment.
Debasement, vile, trash - yes, entertainment - no.
Tarantino's movie (haven't seen it, er, in its completeness) is snuff entertainment a la Hostel.
That it is set during WW2 or involves American soldiers or Jews is incidental.
Hostel could have been set in Latin America, or Deep South USA, or Africa.
Same here.
"Celebrating history’s "First War of National Liberation," [against the Pharaoh] "
You.... they.... cannot be serious.
This is parody.
"The author argues that the government’s case against the AIPAC lobbyists, now dropped, reflected anti-Semitism"
GRRRRRR!
So I guess what Sibel Edmonds has talked about, UNDER OATH, about Turkish intelligence coercion, bribery and entrapment of our Congresspeople, is all motivated by her anti-turkishness!
"To be an assimilated American, a Jew would need to be neither Zionist nor socialist."
I take umbrage at that.
There is nothing that prevents an American patriot from being a socialist.
And jeez Eva, I already knew that Jews in their shtetls were a complete separate nation within a nation, united with Poland only by business interests (lots of Jews were businessmen, both small and big time).
This just rams it home.
And now for something positive.
Me and my mom were shopping in a local super store.
She spotted an Orthodox Jew, and said (in polish) something along the lines of "I didn't know this neighborhood had Orthodox Jews".
As we chatted in polish the Jewish guy acted as if he listened in, and then finally spoke to us in very passable (heavy accent) polish.
After the "Dzien dobry", we learned that he lived in Lvov before the war, and he reminisced with us about pre war Poland. We spent 10 minutes or so talking to each other; it looked like "grandpa" wanted to speak a bit in polish. Perhaps he did not get much chance to do so.
Funny how the world works, two polish (now) Americans talking to a kindly Orthodox Jewish guy in polish, in a midwest boonies.
"Our tour guide, a truly lovely elderly Jewish woman, whisked us by the displays showing the execution of Poles and Polish priests at the hands of the German Nazis, while slowing down by the other ‘regular’ displays long enough to tell us that Poles were just as murderous of Jews as the Germans, and that the Nazis were Christian. I was numb."
Speechless, yet not surprised.
I have learned in America that the Poles were at least complicit in the holocaust, even though there were no polish concentration camp guards (ukrainians, yes, poles, no), no polish SS, no polish waffen-ss, and the people who informed the occupation forces on where jews were hidden for financial reward were ruthlessly executed by the Home Army.
But never mind all that, the Israeli myth uber alles, no matter the facts.
It seems that the international, poignant "Never again!", which I learned in communist Poland while learning about WW2 and Jewish Holocaust, to the proponents of Israeli myth became (sadly):
"Never again, us"...
...someone else's turn to suffer for our, jewish benefit, now we are the bullies!
Why do they have tax exempt status, again?
If I want to donate to Darfur, is that tax exempt?
Or any other country?
I watched Borat for the first time in my life a few weeks ago (it was on USA, so what the hey).
The impression I got is that Sacha's movie is about two themes:
Message one: eastern Europe is s**t, and is populated by nasty, brutish, beyond neanderthal people who hate Jews.
Message two: Americans are yokels who are easily led by any conman who comes along.
The "Jak sie masz" is polish for 'How are you".
The majority of the jokes were in Yiddish, so I felt that I didn't get 40% or more of the jokes... if they were jokes at all.
For the record, disclaimer - I never got Seinfeld either, but I adore Mel Brooks (perhaps because he is so pro polish, it twangs my immigrant heart after all, eh)... but I think it is because I find his humor more human, with actual humanity in it, and not a hint of condescension nor sneering.
