  • London's Palestine Expo defies smear campaign attracting more than 15,000
    • This highly anticipated which was touch and go at one point was a resounding success and attended by people of all religions. My one criticism was that many of the speakers overlapped on Saturday which led us to missing them. John Pilger was riveting, Ronnie Barkan the same. Inas Abbad showed the pain and anger of being subjected to a occupation where the children were taught on the ring fenced concrete playground and their journey's to and from school being arduous. Miko Pelod was his excellent self not mincing his words.
We thought we'd be running the gauntlet of Zionist groups but there numbers didn't pass 20. The usual suspects of Hoffman and Collier were politely escorted out after after trying to provoke well known Jewish activists. One Jason Rich entered with a bodycam wanting a fight but he was removed from the scene.

  • Where do we go from here? Our thoughts & yours on the US election
    • The outcome of the election has given America the President it deserves. A bold statement indeed, but the country which professes to be the model of democracy is nothing more than a sham when an oligarch determine the candidates and the agenda. The said agenda is always detrimental to the well being of the citizens. It's foreign policy agenda is malign and has been so for decades when this purported democracy supports terrorism and tyrannical countries.

With a morally corrupt DNC, Clinton’s agenda was pro war and favoured Israel without any thought of the suffering of the oppressed Palestinian population. Her backers were pro Israel and didn't give a damn about the extremist shift driven by Netanyahu and his cabal.

Trump’s win has shown us once again to ignore the polls and mainstream news. His victory and its aftermath of hate parallel Brexit. As far as Israel and Palestine are concerned, his statements are contradictory. However, with the both House members bought by AIPAC, he has little leeway to push for any resolution. Israel has already made clear that peace is off the table, annexation of more land is planned along with further repressive measures.

No President in recent times has stood steadfast against Israel when they could have easily severed all funds and military hardware and until this happens and a US move of sanctions at the UN, the situation will worsen.

  • Clinton to Palestine: Drop dead
    • What surprises me is everyones reaction. HRC set out her stall long ago and much was revealed with her 2012 email about destroying Syria as a favour to Israel.
You Americans have her but she poses a threat to the wider world. Who will she target first, Syria or Iran and who after that - Russia?? Clinton is integral to the military industrial complex and the American/Israeli axis poses the greatest threat to world peace.

  • On first campaign stop in West Bank, Netanyahu warns that 'radical elements' want to take over Israel
  • Banksy goes to Gaza
    • My respect and admiration to Banksy who through his art has shown us the suffering of the Palestinian people.

  • 'Go to Auschwitz!: Extremist settler confronts injured ISM volunteer in Hebron
    • Ally Cohen I was sickened by your account. As you state, you are a white Jew and not a Palestinian. While the settlers continue to occupy illegally taken territory, the suffering of the Palestinians will continue.

  • 'Israel is becoming an isolated ghetto,' says Amos Oz
    • Read the NYT article which refused almost all the comments criticising Israel, many of us had trouble accessing the comments section which is no surprise as this is Murdoch owned.

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know that Israel long ago became a pariah state and now forges itself down the path of apartheid. With its "Jewish State" and segregated buses, it's been this summer's slaughter in a Gaza that has revealed its genocidal mentality.

If I have the choice of reading comments by Gideon Levy or Amos Oz, Gideon Levy shows Israel warts and all while Mr. Oz pretends to be a liberal Zionist. Liberal Zionists are a figment of the imagination.

  • Collective punishment of 1.8 million human shields in a prison -- Newsweek dares publish the truth of Gaza
    • A last a commentator from an American media outlet. Reporting the horrific details of what the Palestinians in Gaza have to endure. Her graphic account is one of the few that has been the light of day in the West. She is right that Gaza is nothing more than an open air prison camp. That us why Sharon let the Palestinians have Gaza.

Israeli denials and hasbara are no longer convincing the world that they are the victims. The shock and awe display over Gaza this summer has shocked the world and turned many pro Israeli Jews against the barbarity perpetrated. Israeli scored an own goal but blames the world for any criticism levelled against it using the old routine of self hater or anti Semitic slur.

It is time for the US administration to bring Israel to book through the withholding of financial aid and military equipment. Unless America follows this line, the US will be seen to be culpable to the ongoing oppression of the Palestinian people.

America cannot invoke sanctions against Russia without invoking sanctions against Israel.

  • For the first time Israel's high court wrestles with legality of punitive home demolitions
    • Demolition is self defeating and ruthless: this smacks of a society on the edge of human behaviour.

What so called democratic society has one group of civilians ruled by judicial laws and the the rest under military rule. Nobody gives a damn about non Jewish civilians, however, the settlers are allowed to run amok in the occupied territories killing, running down children, etc with impunity.

Israel is on the edge of the abyss.
