Maybe some group will have the gumption to start building walls through the gardens of some of these "Israel Firsters", do unto them what US tax dollars are doing to Palestinians:
link to guardian.co.uk
Even papiermache walls would make the point.
PG
Did you ever wonder why the "UndieBomber" was allowed to fly? Why the Israeli security didn't consider a youth travelling with a one way ticket & no luggage suspicious?
Or did someone somewhere think that an "adverse" security event might cause all those wavering Americans/Westerners to hew back to the Israeli side? Thankfully the worst didn't happen, but if it had, or if in the future it does, the Palestinian cause would be the greatest loser, despite having no involvement at all.
Some of the questions have been asked, but the "event" itself backfired whoever was involved at whatever level.
"Cover" required by MSM to avoid otherwise certain accusations of anti-semitism.
The protesters in the picture appear to be extremely wary of the camera.
What consequences do they fear from "their" community for their actions in daring to speak out? Is being pro-justice for Palestine in New York akin to being pro-choice in the Bible belt??
They'll be snuggled up with the arms manufacturers trying to figure out how to stop this ever happening again! But it has, and it shouldn't have been hidden in an obscure corner of the guardian. Ought to be front page, big & loud.
Meanwhile in the UK, seven activists who trashed an arms factory successfully use the defence that they were trying to prevent Israeli war crimes in Gaza! All acquitted!

I've read quite a few such that romanticize Israel.
In a fairly recent Faye Kellerman (I think) she named a minor felon "Robert Fisk".
It's more sleight of hand. Don't look at the actions, the deeds. Look inwards at the character. Just as every Israeli lie about themselves as "just", or "victims" will be repeated ad nauseum, just as every refuted non-fact about the Palestinians will be restated in endless articles, to be refuted again.
They can't see the egg on their faces.
Yoke?
Methlamist? Methlamism?
Methlam?
If you're in Tunbridge, I'm somewhere north of you. Don't forget the increased attacks on mosques, will you.
Not the one in my town. Which has no mosque but probably at least three times as many moslems as jews!
Which one of these donor dependents would have DARED to ask such a question?! Donors are faaar more influential than voters!
In her case of apparent lack of courtroom experience, hero-worship of one with bloody hands, running his Harvard fan club. One imagines bedroom walls bedecked with posters of his judgements, interspersed with maps of Israel (State of, Land of, etc), maybe a few of the "great man's" face. Re previous post implying slightly juvenile attitude.

The "crime" is blind unquestioning loyalty to another country that is every day further outside the norms of basic decency. I knew (a long time ago) one of the men who has now become one of the UK's neo-Nazi MEPs. Charm, affability, warmth personified. That kind of politics (fascism of any kind) and that kind of character are in my opinion incredibly dangerous. Kagan seems to show that she conflates Judaism with Zionism, thus beyond private religious practice, thus potentially a conflict of loyalty. From previous comments, I think you might be on the same page as she is, but obviously not in the same sort of position.
Have you read Bijou's link?
I think you're in freefall down that cliff face!
Interesting, but needs to be accompanied by available stats on classmates/graduates elsewhere who have secured posts. With ethnic/religious/gender breakdown. Otherwise it's just innuendo! That won't do.

An Arab country "within" Israel?
I suppose if one takes the extensive "biblical" Israel, there are several.
If one takes the current situation, there is the very ugly illegal occupation of large parts of mandate Palestine. Few are proposing an Arab country "within" Israel.
Not quite sure how? That was a family holiday targetted by terrorists. Now they have become respected & properly represented within government. Though they still refuse to take up seats won in Westminster when that happens.
Perhaps I should ask my father about this "romantic" time. In 47/48 he was a 17 year old Royal Naval rating serving in that "arena". Suggestions - remembering he was just a kid himself at the time?
Debonnaire, are you "playing" with the incitement theme of the post header? Or are you just a deeply unpleasant individual?
Credibility? Zilch.
Wasn't BH-L dismayed at the persecution of a certain kiddie rapist film director who shall remain nameless?
What would be so wrong with a turquoise smudge, Witty?
Gaza IS a part of Palestine. Witty continues the semantic division of the two parts of the country, which will lead to all those resident but NOT Gazan losing forever their right to even visit their former homes, be they now obliterated in "Israel" or the West Bank. That's a lot of people.
If he's trying to turn down the heat on world scrutiny, means he's worried about it! But if the eye turns away from Gaza, there's all the appalling activity, continuous expansion in the rest of Occupied Palestine to focus on, build more heat, no?
Just heard - NYahoo's ending ban on arbitrary items, gonna be just a list of goods that may be used as or in the making of weapons. No exact quote, snippet from bbc R4.
Urgh!
Japanese knotweed? :D
Complete drivel. Doesn't prevent the country or its businesses trying to find alternative suppliers. The "essential tools for Jews to defend themselves in Israel" are almost invariably used for offensive purposes, and almost never in Israel.
You must be mistaken! That wonderful Caroline Glick said in JPost just after the "hate boat"/flotilla murders that Israel is "not an expansionist state"!!!
yes
People are being indoctrinated with pure nazi evil. Just days ago read a comment on HuffPo by a "MorryFeldman" wishing the world had turned its face away so ALL the "animals" could have been turned into "fertilizer" during 08/09.
His prancing murderer is probably still being feted wherever he goes.

Reply much appreciated.
How utterly typical. A response to the only non-question. Haven't you done well!
So what word would you apply to the loathing, fear, paranoia of Arabs that is so commonplace not just among Israeli Jews, but among diaspora? You do seem to like altering language - you refer to "Gazans" as opposed to Palestinians, presumably in an effort to make people forget that huge numbers are "Gazan" by force, or to create a "mental" division in peoples minds from the Palestinians of the West Bank, y'know, Occupied Palestine. Is this some way of manipulating people, under the guise of an "interested participant" in discussions? What's your end-game? Israel deports as many Palestinians from the West Bank to Gaza as possible, then extends sovereignty over "Judea & Samaria"? With perhaps a meagre bribe to encourage emigration for those who find that unacceptable? Gaza gets a divorce?
I had a former neighbor who was one of many royal refugees from Ethiopia, and was told that the Christian royal family defined themselves as black semites. That of course, ties in with the lineage they claim.
The Israeli Hall of Mirrors?
The Hasbara cult - these people need deprogramming!
If Turkey's "ethnic and religious chauvinism" is supposedly "antithetical" to NATO membership, why isn't that of Israel, which is considerably more virulent and murderous? Or is this Israel and its apologists using that gigantic blind-spot again?!
Craig Murray posted about the rumblings of discontent towards the US that he was hearing from within NATO on June 2. Would mooted expulsion of Turkey in exchange for Israel endanger its very future?
On your own website, that is.
You? A "Settler" fascist who happily posts blogs calling the neighbors "pestilinians"? What's your preferred "solution"? Never quite prepared to say what that is, eh?
Or even, out and proud.
And in the same issue, take just a peek at the comments thread under the piece by Anshel Pfeffer about Mordechai Eliayahu. Ziofascism out loud.
What would the FBI response be if they were informed of numerous individuals & groups knowingly donating large sums of money to groups that are not only extremist, practise violence, ethnic cleansing and flout the US moratorium on settlement building, continuing to establish yet more? And not only that, but also produce books that are widely disseminated advocating every excuse possible for killing "non-jews" including children and babies?
Has anybody tried reporting that sort of thing? Or had a response?
I'll spot you one from the Guardian:
link to guardian.co.uk
Ideas to end the blockade to be put forward to the EU on Monday, since most of the countries want tougher action.
Less than $30m is specifically earmarked for Gaza. The rest could go on more of those West Bank roads just for Palestinians - or else it's already been spent ($200m so far), and will now be counted.
How much non-tax money is "expatriated" to help fund expansionism & extremism annually? Might there be a figure for the amount granted tax-relief?
Loved your "Israel and its american colony"!
Maybe throw that out to the "masses" as Israel now being the taxing power, see if that can change the dynamic. Every little helps! Netanyahoo as George III!
The story of this gentleman, on the Neturei Karta site, makes mention of the panthers:
link to nkusa.org
His whole story is fascinating.
Have you been to his website? So many articles that will just, well, read some:
http://www.jkcook.net

Undoubtedly a spiritual brother to the author of the book in this piece, which is updated:
Nov 16 "The racist lore, as taught by the rabbis of Hebron and Bet El is everywhere."
Nov 19 the Rabbis Yeshiva is funded by the Israeli government
Dec 15 Haaretz uncovers US federal tax exemptions for American charities funding the rabbis
What's the betting none of the above has changed?
Just the attitudes and beliefs of young men and women in possession of weapons, whether or not in the army, determined to rain more death and terror on their despised neighbors.
No, no, no! Calculated to cause maximum diversion from Israeli behaviour against the flotilla! Her fate was quite incidental.
Rejig
"Government of the People, by AIPAC stooges, for the Zionists"
At least it gets rid of that repetitive word "people".
They take the money, then they don't indigestion. But three Amerisraelican "minders"?
Meanwhile all this becomes obfuscation as the army acts as an arm of the Settler movement, making its own rules in defiance of the "supposed" moratorium on building in Palestinian territory:
link to imemc.org
link to imemc.org
Given the items in Sehams yesterday, at this rate, the Palestinians need to set up Displaced Persons camps to echo those of post-WWII. But I suppose those would just be bulldozed, the occupants imprisoned. The eyes of the world will be missing as usual, as some trivial Helen Thomas type incident can make Israel the victim again.
Where there's ill-will there's a way.
It's all very well knowing so much hasbara has been comprehensively debunked, but come the next incident, it will all be trotted out again as if it was Gaaahd's own troof, along with the next bunch of lies. And the mainstream media will go along with the "official" version, with their quotes, with their references, ignoring proof of lies. And so it will go time and again. And the numbers shouting out against it, busily debunking the new lies will still be too small, too powerless to make a significant difference.
It will only be if, sooner or later, Israel elects a government even further to the right, that commits an even more blatant atrocity, that will finally repel the rose-tinted glasses type of the Israel-right-or-wrong brigade and mark a real turning point.
A piece in Ha'aretz today was rattling on about division of potential profits from an oil or gas field off "Haifa". Which is in reality 80% off Lebanon. So there's bound to be endless fireworks, while Israel ensures its "security", or sole possession of the resources.
"Royal Court Spokespeople!?
I'd go with Court Jesters - the difference being these are intellectual dwarves.
Amongst much unbelievable guff you missed this gem: "Israel is a non-expansionist state"
Sorry, the article you link is by her.
That nice Caroline Glick from the Gaza Choir rendition of "We con the World"?
It is somewhere on this site, and she's labelled at the end.
Someone's trying:
link to gilad.co.uk
In fact, it's worth looking at all gilad's post 31/5 writings:

I'd rejig that last headline to
"Terror Commando brazenly admits mass murder of 6 humanitarian activists".
NOOoo...
I'm going to bury my head for a few hours, and when I wake up it'll all be a horrible bad dream.........
In response to this sort of thing, Egypt has decided to introduce a law stripping citizenship from men who are married to Israelis. This covers some 30,000 couples. Next!
Does size justify occupation by the Reich on the Med?
Genocide Watch. Do they have any credibility? I looked at their Jan 2010 "crisis watch" report. Under Western Europe/Mediterannean, the only countries mentioned are
Basque country
Cyprus
Northern Ireland
Turkey
Is there one missing?
They'll have a damn hard job to shout over the AmerIsraelican crowd. The last 10 years have seen occupied Palestine become "Judea & Samaria", an integral part of Israel, to a whole generation who believe "their" land to be occupied by the people they are usurping.
I'm just me. One more "cell" in the body of humanity, indistinguishable at any distance from any of the other 6 billion plus.
Well you were feeling a bit blue, yes?
MRW & PG
I don't do the language of any faith, either. My background is so scrambled my sibs & I weren't raised with one (it's carried on so now my extended family, if gathered together would look a somewhat like Phil's preferred demonstration crowd - though some among the cousins & their kids have the varied faiths!). What you write I find trouble with. Whilst Jewish people are, well, grossly overrepresented in the echelons of power according to their percentage of the population, those people are still only a tiny fraction of Jewish people. It is they, the neocons & Zionists who control the discourse & have done for around 30 years, but they are not the only "elite" who are & have somehow "ring fenced" power for themselves. You don't have to look very far to see that politics, law, finance (and therefore power) etc are family businesses for many generations in what used to be called WASP families. Don't hear that term so much nowadays. In the UK, the old school tie still rules, and Eton has taken over the government again. Most civil wars & revolutions have been about getting rid of a self-perpetuating few & opening up rule to more people. I'm having difficulty expressing what I mean here! I think it's - please don't point the finger in just one direction! Our self appointed "elites" have subverted democracy to the $, as well as allowing Israel to be treated as the 51st but most important state. The economic destruction seemed to me to be the result of a form of these "elites" keeping up with the new Russian billionaires, envying the lack of a social contract (which they would dearly love to destroy) there and in other eastern countries - but again, these "elites" have their own diversity, each their own form of self-perpetuation. It may have been Amy Chua's "World on Fire" that described different elites in different countries, & the fate of some of them. Unfortunately I can't find my copy to check.
Follow this trajectory though, you get some final trigger moment, everybody takes flight to the "Homeland", the US gets a Palinesque Christian "end-times" etc takeover, who eventually try to make their "Rapturous" dreams come true! Horror!
Jewishness isn't the problem. Zionism & dual loyalty is a huge problem. It disowns dissent & defends the indefensible. I still want to know who picked the CFR gang, and what were the criteria! I guess it'll have something to do with whoever fund the CFR.
Jewish identities have been overwritten/suppressed by the pro-Zionist whatever, whenever, however crowd. So many people can't quite believe that someone can be Jewish and opposed to occupation and siege and continuous land grabbing.
Did he address the matter of whether it's remotely appropriate that the CFR should appoint a Jewish & neocon group to investigate this incident?
Who appointed them, and how they were chosen are perhaps bigger questions that need answers?
Could be interesting. Weren't the goods to be handed over to UN representatives first? That's the Hamas argument down the tubes.
If there were to be prosecutions, the legality of occupation and siege not sanctioned by the UN could indeed be brought into play. And the governments failure to act over numerous incidents. What the hell is it doing giving $3bn + to a criminal state anyway?
Avi, one of the men was a firefighter. Perhaps he was the one described by the al-Jazeera reporter in a previous article as hosing the Israelis when he was shot. Would they claim he was attempting to drown them in their defense?
No, I'm a dummy, it was a link from the Lawrence of Cyberia link.
I followed a link at the top of the piece, but google translate didn't do a particularly good job. ;-)
More on how these people died:

There are apparently 6 people still unaccounted for. Where are they (or their bodies)?

Increasing disquiet among non-American members that NATO has simply become a tool of US foreign policy.
Which seems to be an extension of Zionist FP.

More sentimental Settlers:

It contains translation of an article that appeared in Maariv.
A hyper sensitivity that has stifled - and continues to stifle - legitimate criticism of Israel, AIPAC, & others to the detriment of US politics and Israeli politics. And hence to the detriment of peace.
The comment threads made me think.
What if these fora had been available during the fight against apartheid in South Africa? Would the only deleted comments there make loathsome remarks about the poor beleaguered Boers? Or during the fight for Civil Rights - would the only moderated comments be those denouncing white supremacists in terms too strong for their weak stomachs?
Certainly a vast amount of vile bile seems to get thru that's anti-arab, anti Islam, anti Palestinian in the most stomach turning way.
Some examples of the "Mad Dogs" pups playing with their prey:

That was John Snow (not "mark"). Probably the best - he's tore Regev a few new ones during Cast Lead. No wonder his voice got wobbles! But how come Regev hadn't heard what everyone else has heard on the ordinary news outlets?
I suspect he's hiding somewhere now, given what happened in north west of England today. One Derrick Bird killed 12, injured 25 then topped himself. Ok, it wasn't a mall, but....timing = poor!
Rabbi Shmuley's piece on HuffPo should be GuffPo! Is he only allowed to take his news & views from orthodox or Israeli approved providers?
It's our western governments that are the Israeli rights greatest enablers. We need to put severe pressure on our representatives in order to begin to change that. And as was suggested, social pressure on the Israel uber alles types of our acquaintance, or personal boycotts on businesses we may know to be funding the lobbyists or the "Settler" movement. If the outrage can be sustained in face of the incommunicado kidnap victims not being released until Israel thinks it's all "blown over" and the media loses interest.
"Passengers"? I mean kidnap victims, held incommunicado.
The legality? Ship carrying Turkish flag in international waters = Turkish legal jusisdiction, therefore either extradite Israeli commandos for trial in Turkey, or treat as act of war by Israel against Turkey, a nato member, in which case all other nato members should come to that nations defence.
Instead, Israel plans to charge with assault those passengers it considers attacked its "commando" pirates (high seas and all), according to spokesperson Shahar Arieli quoted in the Guardian.
UK's Guardian website cites Israeli spokesman Shahar Arieli implying that they will try those of the activists they accuse of assaulting them. In international waters. In response to their invasion of the ships. Wow. Justice?
