And what’s that region called again? Oh yeah: the Arab region.
great comment when neither of the countries in the headline are Arab countries.
Balance of power? Egypt has a much stronger military than Iran does. A few nukes, with unreliable delivery systems, hardly illustrates a balance of power.
Sourced or not, if the storming was live, it means that the state controlled media was tipped off. Live video recordings, especially by the state runned media, are only authorized by Khamenei.
Shmuel, well tell me when it turned into cattle?
‘goyim’ means ‘cattle’ as i understand
Goy (Hebrew: גוי, regular plural goyim גוים or גויים) is a Hebrew biblical term for "nation".
Unbelievable.
Things are getting interesting. Katyusha's from Lebanon, Western Embassies sacked in Tehran, economic sanctions against Syria. I see a substantial attack on Israel anytime now.
A civil war in Egypt would look a lot different than a civil war in Libya.
that is so funny, you act like the IDF is composed of all white ppl.
so they are gaining money by not delivering this gas? are they selling it to someone else? is no money better than a poorly negotiated amount? what about the money Jordan proposed to pay, which they agreed to increase?
Leviathan. Israel is set, the Lebanese and Turks can do nothing about it. Attacks against it would be attacks against Americans, I am not sure the Lebanese or Turks will take that gamble.
link to en.wikipedia.org
Egypt will soon be cutting Israel and Jordan 8 billion dollar checks each. Nothing like getting their new democracy off to a good start!
Why yes, didn’t you know, it’s a double mitzvah on shabbos.
wow, talk about an anti-Jewish comment. MW is an antisemitic rag, the new moderators are making sure of that.
Congrats Racists!
neither the occupation or the settlements can be made to look good Mooser. they are both disasters which, if Israel ever fails, will be the main reason for that failure.
are there polls to back this? there is a difference between the settlements and the occupation, it seems like you are using them interchangeably.
It is easy to advocate for war from thousands of miles away.
Hezbollah's main concern is Syria and the coup they will need to perpetrate once Assad loses power. Negotiations with Hezbollah are worthless anyways, look at UN 1701.
half the country wants gender segregation in public places
is there a link to that?
I say, let’s have the schism now, why wait? That is because unlike Shmuel, many Jews, like Phil Weiss, use their Judaism as a tool to advance their political views and not because they really identify as Jews. Phil identifies as a Jew to fight neoconservatives and Zionism, not because he feels part of the Jewish community or cares for it. Why should the Jewish community not put an end to this charade?
Wow you nailed it there EEE.
Woody,
Kind of questions the whole who owned what land prior to 1948 also. If Palestinians are willing to invest more in Israel, than in the WB, is it a stretch to say they were also will to sell HUGE amounts of land before and during the British Mandate period?
Palestinians invest twice as much in Israel as they do in the West Bank

What about the Palestinians and/or Arabs in the %1?
New York is a center of power for the lobby (as it is for finance; the line between Wall Street and the lobby is blurry)
LOL, I am sure it has NOTHING to do with the 2 million + Jews in NYC. Excellent journalism here Alex!
A democratic state w/ a 20% Arab minority.
Turns out his son's name was Israel, not his boyfriend.
They described him as a devoted father. He had his son's name -- Israel -- tattooed on his neck.

JP, Israel is a pretty popular Hispanic name, I doubt it had anything to do with the state of Israel. Good try though. It does sound like he came from the OWS camp in D.C. though.
Just as Zionists liked Hitler, he gave them masses of Jewish refugees to colonize Palestine with.
You are a sick individual. the disgusting comment section is getting a little nauseating.
So Clooney was responsible for South Sudan becoming independent and you are obviously against South Sudanese independence, Crazy!
They’re so untrustworthy them goy hollywood types. And they’re always looking/shopping for a ’cause’ like they do an accessory.
Rob Morrow is Jewish and apparently Patricia Arquette is too.
I’ve met quite a few people in hollywood who support the Palestinians but not in front of their jewish producers or agents.
we really need the ability to tweet comments.
I tried to watch this one, but couldn't. Barak's accent is one of the most painful I have ever heard.
no, did you see they were Israelis? are you trying to equate Judaism with Zionism?
Kenya is no dictatorship, but the alleged killing of civilians in Somalia and ongoing investigations into post-election ethnic violence that Kenyan leaders allegedly fomented make clear that Israel has not changed its attitude towards countries that commit human rights abuses
that is classic, look around the ME and African, you make it sound like non-Muslim countries are the only ones who can commit human rights violationss.
like the Israelis who stuck with old S African regime to the near bitter end–they were even nuclear bomb buddies.
some lies never die, do they?
Jonah, a single line from the Hamas charter from the 1980s reflects reality far less than actual facts on the ground today.
A single line? have you read it lately?
First, I was against the Iraq 2003 war.
Second, you were against the first Iraq war? evidently you only care about an occupation when they are Palestinians
Lastly, bomb Arabs? isn't this about Iran, just so you know, they aren't Arabs. Also I am against any military action against Iran.
The Osikar attack was not only a waste of time, but it’s what convinced Saddam he needed nukes.
What! that is the most backwards thing I have ever heard you write Shingo. Israel blows up their nuclear reactor, they never build another one, but it was the catalyst for them to pursue nukes.
Mondothink!
Last time I checked, DBG, it was clowns like you who blamed the US for the attack on the USS Liberty and it was clowns like you who believed there were nukes in Iraq.
Can you prove that Chaos?
6. Thousands of injured US veterans whom the government refuses to treat so they call me every day asking for donations after they lost limbs fighting in Uncle Sam’s wars.
Such a nag having a Veteran of a country you hate asking you for charity huh Avi?
Charon, where do you seriously come up with some of this stuff? it never ceases to amaze me. Seriously do you have a source you go to? i'd be interested in reading it.
good work Alec
firefox 5? yikes.....
we need the ability to spread individual comments also,
that one will never get old huh Mooser? or do you forget you say it?
maybe they can take the winter to evolve the movement a bit. it is kind of in disarray right now.
Shingo, why do you omit the reason permits are needed?
I don't get how your kids are Palestinian? are they Israeli Palestinian? how do they go to school with lots of Jewish kids?
Chaos, that is why they aren't allowed on buses w/ out a permit. Ignoring history isn't going to make it go away. As for Jews and farms, can you be anymore racist? does that mean no Jews can have farms in the US either?
Freedom Riders would be 'exactly' correct if there were suicide bombings on buses going on in the 1960s, but there weren't. It is an entirely different situation.
Hebrew is the language of apartheid.
if that isn't antisemitism, what is?
Richard, don’t you think it would be so much better if the Palestinians just turned their affairs over to you?
They'd probably have a state of their own if they did.
why are you so threatened by the idea that MLK had Zionist leanings? Trying to re-write history might put your mind at ease annie, but it doesn't really help the Palestinians at all. When real heroes of OUR civil rights movement see you trying to use MLK as a propaganda piece, they will be sickened. It is the same w/ these freedom rides you guys are using part of American history as methods of propaganda. This will backfire (if anyone actually hears about it outside of the fringe anti-Israel movement)
And those nice Jewish boys that were surrounded by hezbollah- that was beastly was it not ?
never happened. if there was ever a time when Hezbollah had nice Jewish boys surrounded, they'd be slaughtered.
And didn’t an Israeli ship sink too?
you are joking right?
except that most israelis thought that the war was not a success.
Hezbollah has been afraid to attack Israel again, that sounds pretty successful to me. Their 'failure' in Lebanon in 2006 has stopped any Hezbollah actions on the border for the last 5.5 years.
Any medium to long range missiles would be destroyed long before they even lifted off. Those that did leave Iran (or Lebanon) would be shot out of the air.
link to haaretz.com
Israeli settlers in Lebanon? WTF? do you know anything about this conflict? BTW Lebanon started 2006, Nasrallah said it best, if he knew what Israel's reaction was going to be, he wouldn't have STARTED the conflict.
what time of SAMs we talking Walid? you honestly think Hezbollah is going to 'invade' Israel, that is so laughable. Usually an invasion requires air support or at least artillery support. If Hezbollah tried to lay down artillery support they'd no doubt kill more militants than Israelis. WWII technology isn't good with pinpoint accuracy.
That’s precisel;y what did NOT happen. Israel dumped everythnig they had on Lebanon in 72 hours (so much so they needed supplies from Washington) and barely laid a scracth on Hezbollah.
Focus Shingo, we are talking about rockets which could hit Tel Aviv.
Hezbollah had the capability in 2006, but it was all destroyed in less than an hour. Rockets capable of hitting Tel Aviv are much harder to hide amongst civilian population centers.
Hezbollah won't risk another war with Israel, it would be a death sentence for their movement in Lebanon.
Syria and Iran have a mutual defense policy.
They did a heck of a job defending each other following Israel's destruction of the covert nuclear weapons program. Proof they are both scared to death of Israel's capabilities.
The statement by Danilenko’s son actually proves the diplomate a liar.
Wow, what? that statement you made above proves that Danilenko is their nuclear weapons expert. I love getting you guys in a corner, you'll say the most ridiculous things :)
Parchin is a facility for both military and industrial applications. It makes perfect sense that a detonation take place there.
yeah and so is Dimona Shingo. why don't you prove it?
Walid, what kind of SAMs do they they have? if their technology is anything like their rockets, it will be WWII technology. Israel was able to fly over both Lebanon and Syria to destroy their covert nuclear weapons program in 2007. There isn't much to worry about in terms of defense there.
Also how are these 100,000 fighters going to cross the border? it is heavily mined and well defended. (I think the number is 30,000, but multiplying a number by three is kind of the standard operation procedure for your propaganda wing.)
Shingo,
On Danilenko, another diplomat who is familiar with the IAEA's Iran probe said the scientist told the agency that he did not work on such a chamber. That, said the diplomat, directly contradicts a statement by his son-in-law, who said the container was built under Danilenko's direct supervision.
The device, which was supposedly used for 'nanodiamonds' was at the Parchin military complex.
link to thedailystar.net
So Hizbullah is a Iranian/Syrian puppet. Good to know. If there is such a regional war, Israel will not show the restraint it did in 2006.
another thing, Danilenko said he didn't work on the chamber at all, doesn't this kind of contradict his 'nanodiamond' expertise? You guys gotta work on your story!
This AP story does a pretty good job of debunking all of the moonofalabama's 'claims'
link to taiwannews.com.tw
it really hasn't been debunked. Why would they be doing this 'nanodiamond' research @ a military facility Annie? If it was for use in microchips, why the need to militarize it?
Given the last 63 years, I would say the Palestinians are the powerless ones.
Media who reported it is a Zionist propaganda machine ~ Check
Americans are too dumb to understand what the real issue is ~ Check
you nailed it Charon.
These DePaul students are definitely in the minority in the US, not only amongst Jews, but amongst the general public, Democrats and Republicans alike:
Poll: American voters' support for Israel rising
link to jpost.com
This type of disruption isn't going to sway the majority of Americans regarding their opinions.
Why can't they behave like any other group who has an opinion something? Why is it only YOUR movement that feels to need to disrupt?
I get that if you held your own rallies, no more than 20 people would show up, but isn't this a start? It would offer more legitimacy than simply crashing other people's events.
annie, I think those kids were writers for the paper.
OMG! Ahmadinejad is Jewish!
what does that matter mollistan? JVP is trying to paint themselves as the majority in the Jewish community where in reality they struggle to get 10 buffoons together to disrupt an event with 100s of ppl there. JVP is definitely the %1 when it comes to the Jewish community.
So let me get this straight, Iraq invades Kuwait and threatens Saudi Arabia, and that was also a war for Israel?
Oh yeah, and Jeffrey, your story is total hogwash.
if the future of a country is dictated by their adherence to international law, the whole Arab world is fucked also.
I didn't think there was any archeological evidence of 'ancient synagogues'
So the 99% thing is BS. unless you are saying the left is the 99% and everything else is the 1%. Palestinian solidarity is one thing, trying to hijack a domestic movement (and the way you make it sound anything important to the left) is another.
what exactly is desperate poverty.
If you were a Palestinian, why would you want to live amongst the ppl that just 'brutally' occupied you for the last several decades?
it really never ends with you ppl does it? was the death of Bibi's brother part of this plot? or was that an accident?
I am really disappointed the Israel government didn't get an arrest warrant before the raid on Entebbe. I know the terrorist who kidnapped them went through all of the legal red tape to ensure the rights of the Jews weren't being infringed upon.
yes, that 3 billion/year, 75-80%which is being spent on American weapons systems, is bankrupting our nation.
LOL, 6 years ago they were elected. Israel's recent deal w/ Hamas freed an Israeli soldier who was prisoner for 5+ years, it was worth everything penny.
I wish the US would care as much about our soldiers who are held captive as Israel cares about theirs.
oh darn, I really thought this one was gonna make it through.
what is your obsession w/ this lady?
I agree Israel should be an international city.
lets see, so if I make a similar comment about whether Shia Muslims worship their mosques or the bombs in them more, will it get censored?
or is racism against Ashkenazi Jews only tolerated here?
Kathleen, you should check the date on that article, it is 2008. Russia has long since decided not to sell them the S-300. anyways the S-300 isn't top of the line anymore.
Ben White is the hack to end all hacks. You guys know how to pick em here :) LOL!
annie, not this report specifically, but all reports regarding the this 'attack' on Iran come from 'diplomats' or 'anonymous' sources. You just chose to pick this one because the report isn't to your liking.
and there was no evidence supplied that concluded Israel purposely targeted civilians.
How about the Palestinian's crimes? We all know that ever projectile fired from Gaza is consider a war crime. How about the years and years of terrorism? How will that be judged?
The majority of Israel’s citizens spoke German and Arabic in the early years. But those are the languages of Nazis and ‘terrorists’ so Hebrew was revived
Hebrew was revived prior to both Naziism and (the majority of) Arab terror against the Jews of Palestine.
Seriously Annie? Tell me about the Nazi regime in prior to WWI. I am done playing your games. you don't care about truth all you care about is propaganda. How does that help your cause?
Wow, can you be any more ill-informed:
Ever heard of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, who died in 1922?

you mean the one missiles were being fired from? Do you know what summarily executed means? It was what happened to Qaddafi. the fogel family was a summary execution.
Not the smarted tools in the shed, huh America?
I think they meant that lying about the IDF 'summarily executing' hundred of children is a lie used for propaganda.
Turkey would have voted yes regardless of the latest diplomatic strife between the two nations. Turkey has never 'lobbied' Arab/Muslim countries to vote on the side of Israel in the UN.
where has any pro-Israel poster on Mondoweiss called a Palestinian, an Arab, or a Muslim a pig, and was not banned?
“pigs, not human beings”. Sounds about right
Wow what?
Farmer, why don't you go out and do independent research on the matter and come to your own conclusion. From what I have learned, they were purchased by and Israeli and housed @ a Jordanian museum until it was captured by the Israelis following the 6 day war.
Hang in there Jon we are all thinking about you. Praying for you and your family.
Easy on the facts America
I don't think there was a 3-4 day delay. They hit back the following day.
Walid, I linked to this on 10/26.
link to mondoweiss.net
I don't get why they start firing rockets in the first place. What is the point? is it an internal power play? are these rogue elements within Islamic Jihad?
I think the main difference here is it was a crown prince who set the bounty, in Israel it was just some nutzoid.
That dude with the beer is an "occupation" tourist.
Not Jewish?
Looks EXACTLY like the Warsaw Ghetto.
Abbas: Arab world was wrong to reject 1947 Partition Plan

Kate, right under the picture they claimed it was the girl. Of course their intent was to deceive. Maan was the same 'news organization' who immediately after the Itamar murder, claimed it was foreign workers. You guys are still trying to use that as a smoke screen to divert from Palestinian terror. This is how you do it. The sad part is it works for the hard core Israel haters, but people outside of your delusion see it for what it is. bupkis
Where is your outrage for these children:

you are right Norman, 70% of Jews in Israel are Sabras. and the majority came from Arab countries following their 'population transfer' from Arab countries.
60 years ago, now 70 percent of Israelis have been born in Israel, like it or not it is THEIR homeland.
eee, myself and members of my family have fought for a good base for Reform Judaism in Israel for a long time. We are succeeding.
The growth of Judaism is in Israel, and to survive, Reform Judaism needs to find roots in Israel.
EEE outside of Israel, Reform Judaism is the most dominant form of Judaism. How are you any better than the anti-Israel ilk who questions Israel's ability to survive?
Turns out the US deal DIDN'T include F-16s for the Israeli 'spy'
link to jpost.com
yeah, it is just an assumption the grads came from Gaza. it amazes me how detached you ppl are. Where else do you think it came from? the moon. Do you think it was one of those super grads which was fired from Iran?
Cliff, you were chastising other posters because they respond to me. Why do you, out of the blue, try to 'call me out' and mock my interfaith group in the process? Talk about a troll.
As for the stray bullet, if it happened it is absolutely horrible.
. Israeli military officials confirmed the attacks, claiming that the air assaults were in response to “a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip late Wednesday,” a claim not yet verified by any official source in Gaza.
Wow, that is pretty priceless.
Not exactly:
The Damascus affair occurred in 1840, when an Italian monk and his servant disappeared in Damascus. Immediately following, a charge of ritual murder was brought against a large number of Jews in the city. All were found guilty. The consuls of England, France and Germany as well as Ottoman authorities, Christians, Muslims and Jews all played a great role in this affair.[14] Following the Damascus affair, Pogroms spread through the Middle East and North Africa. Pogroms occurred in: Aleppo (1850, 1875), Damascus (1840, 1848, 1890), Beirut (1862, 1874), Dayr al-Qamar (1847), Jerusalem (1847), Cairo (1844, 1890, 1901–02), Mansura (1877), Alexandria (1870, 1882, 1901–07), Port Said (1903, 1908), Damanhur (1871, 1873, 1877, 1891), Istanbul (1870, 1874), Buyukdere (1864), Kuzguncuk (1866), Eyub (1868), Edirne (1872), Izmir (1872, 1874).[15] There was a massacre of Jews in Baghdad in 1828.[12] There was another massacre in Barfurush in 1867.[12]
link to en.wikipedia.org
did you the read the article? your claim that it was an IDF using her for target practices is an outright lie. Until I see proof she was shot by the IDF, or they admit they were shooting their guns when she was shot, the jury is still out on who actually shot her. It wouldn't be the first time Israel was blamed for a Palestinian 'accident'.
that cartoon is right on. Traditional Jew haters are now replacing the word Jew with Zionist, legitimizing Jew hatred for another generation.
source?
wasp-Americans annie?
Many Jews are Zionists, but "to be a Jew is to be a Zionist" is absurd. Ellen, I am just telling you what I've been seeing on this blog and throughout the anti-Israel/Jewish intranets. You can ignore it if you want, but it is becoming common for anti-semites to replace the word Jew with Zionist.
LOL, I agree that was moronic :)
ignoring you is a prefect idea Mooser.
you need to take off your ideological blinders annie. you are so entrenched in Palestine that you don't see what is going on in America or the world as a whole. I respect your passion, the Palestinians need more ppl like you. Unfortunately your passion for Palestinians has caused you to turn a blind on on the rights of all other people in this world.
I know annie and Zionist isn't limited to Jews either. but more and more it is being used to replace the word Jew. Something I like to call the new-antisemitism.
is neocon the new catch phrase now? when will we be able to replace neocon with Jew, like you've people done w/ the word Zionist.
Sorry to do this to you eljay and Donald, but +2 for me.

we are all immigrants Mooser, get used to it.
well Hostage, I am glad you admit that the Turkish government was responsible for the Mavi Marmara, that is progress. I was referring to an escort by warships though.
Hostage, relevance? and where did u get that from? I googled it and all I found was you using the same quote in september.
Turkey isn't going to risk it, especially with their on going war against the Kurds.
Hostage, Turkey denies all of this:

who is the 'we' you are talking about Annie?
I've heard this before, I/P is the only obstacle to world peace. Are you ppl for real?
how many Dan? favorite song?
Have you been to a Phish show Chu?
Sounds like a fifth column to me. These Palestinian supporters are trying to piggyback on Occupy Wall Street because they know this is the ONLY way they can get visibility.
The More OWS continues, the more I respect it. I was speculative at the beginning because it looked like a Phish show or something, but as it continues I can see it is important and will hopefully do something great for this country. The main issue most people continue to talk about is lack of focus, this co-opting of OWS to further the cause of a foreign body does not disprove this at all.

Well Woody your mentality and people with similar ideas are dooming another 2 or 3 generations of Palestinians.
so what should they do Woody? continue an armed struggle which has failed for 60 years? sit back and let Israel colonize the entire WB? trust that their supporters in the international community will get them a deal? trust that BDS will bring Israel to it's knees?
why should the Palestinians talk?
because they want a state and w/ out talks there will be no change.
Mig, you honestly think the Shia/Sunni divide has nothing to do with it?
