Blogroll

What a bunch of moronic armchair comedians. My message was tone down the hate. Punishing all Zionists with the Nazi label is no better than the IDF's philosophy of collective punishment of the Palestinians.
I have a vested interest in the safety of that flotilla, my youngest sister is on board. Whilst you sit here bashing away your opinions that are, ultimately, worthless, she is physically making her opinion known whilst the rest of her family is desperately trying to find out if she is at least ok.
As for the "IDF plant" guy... you know nothing about me.
Can we please stop with the ZioNazi talk and general Jew bashing please. I understand that a lot of people are angry and horrified. I myself woke up this morning, anxious to learn of the flotilla's safety.
We should all remember that many, many Jews and Zionists are actively engaged in our cause for Palestinian freedom. And don't forget that Israeli activists were also on board the flotilla. Noam's blogged that Israeli demonstrators are on their way now to the ports. Please don't alienate them.
Erm, I was joking. Jesus (AS), can't you people take a joke?
As for Mecca, well King Saud did not offer a vote on that policy to "we Muslims" so you'll have to take it up with him.
She didn't put PBUH after Muhammad's name. She could've at least done that for us.
Dog's are not known to wag other dogs. Jeez, Phil couldn't you come up with something better, you're a journalist. How about:
"Presumably the US MSM, which defers always to conventional conservative pro-Israel opinion whenever a story reflects badly on the dog-pats-the-owner state, will now accept that it is a story."
Your link is dead. Maybe the Israelis are planning on building the Museum of [In]Tolerance website over it?
Whatever happened to the appeal at the UN against this museum?
So, the idea of Jews stealing land by forcefully removing 'the people of the land' is just and fair to you? Is this the example God's 'chosen people' would like to set for the rest of us? Because it sounds more like the reasoning of the devil to me.
Wo, Wo, Wo. Hold on a minute. The US voted against the Palestinians’ right to self-determination, at the UN Human Rights Council the other day?
The US voted NO to: the inalienable, permanent and unqualified right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including their right to live in freedom [NO], justice [NO] and dignity [NO] and to establish their sovereign, independent, democratic and viable contiguous State [NO]; also reaffirms its support for the solution of two States, Palestine and Israel, living side by side in peace and security...[NO, NO and Hell NO].
So what is the purpose of the US's plan for indirect negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians if the US clearly does not want a Palestinian state? It doesn't make sense. But, if you turn this vote on its head, could it be that the US is threatening Israel with a ONE state alternative in order to force them in to capitulating to Obama's demands (unlikely, I know)? Or should we all just pack up and go home?
"Once Petraeus said that perceptions of American one-sidedness put American lives in Afghanistan and Iraq at risk, the game was essentially over." And the irony is that it was the lobby that pushed for the Iraq war! I guess love really is blind - in this case the lobby's love of Israel no matter who's at the helm.
Obama's professed his undying love for Israel many times - so many times in fact that I'm convinced he'd sacrifice his babies for the zionist state. How many more times must this adminisration say they love Israel to the point of cumming? I thought it was customary to roll over and sleep after sex. Obviously not. Israel is a bit like that b*tch that wants to talk all night but you just want to sleep.
"Any US Congressperson or Senator who actually explicitly withdrew or withheld support for health care reform because of loyalty first to Israel and its needs would invite serious questions about his or her patriotism and oath to the US Constitution and American people." Ennit. Me wonders how many poor ordinary Americans that need this healthcare thing won't get it coz Obama won't suck Israeli dick to a suitable standard. That Schenker should be ashamed...corrupt Mo-Fo.
Pardon me French peeps.
"The Jewish state has many conditions under which it would be prepared to give more rather than less."
How many? Name one.
Rosenberg writes today: "AIPAC is coming to Washington on Sunday for its three day pressure-fest (see video) and it will task its membership to go to the Hill and tell Senators and House members to stand with Netanyahu on settlements."
General Petraeus (in his Senate Armed Services testimony) said that the "perception" that the United states supports settlements "would only harm US interests in the Muslim world starting with US troops."
With Israeli settlements on the one hand and the safety and security of US troops on the other, it will be interesting to see just how American your Congress/Senate is.
Whilst Israel has a demographic problem, that ain't going to happen.
Rachel Corrie got what she deserved.
Rachel Corrie got what she deserved.
How low would some members of the God's "chosen" club go to defend the theft of homes and land and dignity from a defenseless people? One fat American or Candian sounding man would go so far as to declare, twice, "Rachel Corrie got what she deserved." Well, fat man, if Rachel Corrie deserved to be crushed to death under an Israeli bulldozer, then all of us deserve the same. Your fat ass especially.
It's one thing defending Israel's security needs. And it's another defending thuggery and utter lawlessness. Israel is a lawless state where even the supreme court is just another monument for tourists to gawp at as their hasbara planned tour takes them through God's promised land - where, it would seem, his jurisdiction ends.
See the repulsive fat man 1.20 in to this video:

I will not be surprised if this group is squashed within a week or two.
The call sounds:
a) Anti-semitic; and
b) Like "Delegitimizing Israel and its right to defend itself" talk.
Ennit. Couldn't have put it better myself.
Techy.
What's wrong with balance? There's two sides to every coin you know.
If Phil has something to write isn't he free to write it? If we want to read it, aren't we free to? If we want to read what you want to read, we need only pick up the New York Times. Balance. If you can't handle it try eating fish, it's good for the brain.
Ha Ha! Good one. But it's not all good news I'm afraid. The news report Buycott links to also states "...investment in [Israeli] fixed [i.e. Tangible] assets fell 9.4 percent." A nine percent fall in fixed asset investment is a pretty big deal considering it usually refers to investment in land and buildings, motor vehicles, furniture, office equipment, computers, fixtures and fittings, plant and machinery etc. So maybe the BDS campaign is doing better than you'd like to give it credit for?
Pretty clever though: "Buycott."
Sounds more and more like a cult every day. Does the average Joe American know/care about this?
"I am convinced in my heart and in my mind that if the United States fails to stand with Israel, that is the end of the United States." Israel is America's Achilles' heel? How so? Has anybody studied the scenario Bachmann puts forward? Politicians are always convinced in their hearts and minds but the end result is always in their own self interest and rarely the country's. There are some good guys amongst them but they are always vilified by the majority.
We are about three months away from an election in the UK and the public is so pissed off (pardon my French) that none of the three major parties has a clue what the result will be. Not because each party has an equal share of the polls, but because the public has no confidence in any of them. Things are so bad that it has been proposed to introduce (probably for the first time in British history) live, televised, US style debates.
Isn't it obvious Yonira suffers from AD(possibly with a bit of H)D. Engaging in dialogue with him is what it must be like for Mahmoud Abbas engaging in dialogue with Israel.
Yonira,
The ABC blog site Phil has linked to has a comments section, you'd better get there quick - there are only 2 comments so far and they don't look favourable to Israel. Perhaps, if you get there quick enough you can make a jackass of yourself there too. Hurry along now...
I was saying that if Jews have the right of return then Palestinians do too. Contrary to what you may be thinking, there is NOTHING special about Jews that elevates them above Palestinians.
The difference between a Jew returning to "Israel" and a Palestinian returning is that the latter can testify "I lived here, in this exact spot." Whereas, the former can only say "I will settle here."
The answer to your question: Do the children of refugees have the right of return to the lands of their ancestors was answered in the 19th century - I believe it's referred to as Zionism.
Surely Jews that were exiled from Israel were no less refugees than the Palestinians who endured the same in 1948. Jews were driven out - i.e exiled. Wikipedia states that Palestinians fled or were expelled in 1948 - i.e. they too were exiled.
The dictionary definition of exile is "expulsion from one's native land by authoritative decree." The definition of expel is "to drive or force out or away; discharge or eject." Exiled / expelled. Tomayto / tomahto. They are both the same thing.
Using Google as an example, the search term 'Palestinians AND exile' returns 554,000 results. The term 'Jews AND exile' returns around 3,760,000 results - that's almost 7 times more references (remarkably similar to the bias in the media coverage of Palestinians and Israelis). We don't often we see the word 'exile' used alongside 'Palestinians' because the term is most often reserved to describe Jewish suffering. As though Jews have a monopoly over suffering.
How could we possibly get the Palestinians a state with your lot wondering about their lands like Gypsies? Arrogant, racist and abusive Gypsies no less. No offence to any Gypsies out there, but at least they move on, after a while.
The more you pontificate about how I hate everything Israel, the more I actually hate Israel. Grow up.
I'd love to flood NBN with applications. If anything, it'd keep their arrogance in check.
I think Mondo should start a campaign of inundating NBN with applications (fake, of course). Everybody, think of a Jewish name and apply. Tell your family members to apply. Tell your friends to apply. Tell everyone you know to apply. NBN'll be bogged down with so many applications it'll grind their admin to a halt. How will they differentiate between fake applicants and genuine ones?
If Mark Thomas can do this sort of thing, so can we. Let's do it!
Look at them. They're all fat, old and out of touch. What would they know about starvation and collective punishment?
Mind you, the guy in the center on the right (beige jacket) looks very intimidating. He could probably stare me in to retracting my name off my own birth certificate.
I wouldn't call them stars...rather Jews of Conscience.
Gee, it must be so depressing and tough to be Israeli. Still the victims I see.
'Why Zionists believe there is nothing wrong with the occupation and those that criticise it are Jew-haters.' I would attend that conference any day. I would fly abroad to attend that conference.
I cannot, for the life of me, understand why Jews would allow Israel to continue on its current path. There are probably more Jews that have never visited or lived in Israel than actually have. If that is true, then zionism really is racism and a perversion of Judaism. Something tells me it won't last much longer. Another 15 to 20 years and Israel will have defeated itself and zionism's use by date will have expired because the generation that is growing up in multi-racial societies with unprecedented and instant access to information from both sides of the conflict will be running the show.
This is just too funny.
Will the conference be covering Israeli racism also, or just racism against semites? The most decisive victory against the BDS campaign would come from ending the occupation. Will the BDS group be discussing that?
Any chance of Mondoweiss sending along a mole to infiltrate the conference and report back to us?
Tzipi Livni. Proud, but petrified.
At least she would not have been subjected to the same ordeals one can only imagine Palestinians go through upon arrest. Israeli officials should be barred from visiting all countries that treat their citizens equally.
Phil, I can't help but notice there is a lot of whining about your congressmen and women of late. Am I naïve in suggesting that you gather your forces and eject these foul (and very old) beasts from their seats and replace them with fresh, free and independent (as in lobby-free) new blood? The J Street conference would have been a good place to start rallying your forces.
In Britain, we may be heading that way thanks to the excessive greed and corruption of our MPs (google 'expenses scandal'). I can't wait. I'm sick of seeing the same old c*nts pandering for my vote every four years.
So J Street is, in a nutshell, AIPAC-lite? How predictable was that.
OMG! Lighten up! I was highlighting the point that although Goldstein finds Carter a "a repulsive human being" it is not without a sense of envy.
And it would be quite shallow for anybody to regret sympathising with or even supporting the Palestinian cause because of the ramblings of one individual who's only connection/affiliation with the Palestinian cause is reading this blog every day.
Jimmy Carter is married and has three sons and a daughter so I would say he has the last laff.
I showed this graph to my mother. She pays no attention to politics and never watches the news - she's always fixated with Pakistani and Indian soap operas and sitcoms. But, she did have this to say: "If this were to happen to the Yahudis, would every man on earth know about it."
It's not at all tough for me to answer the Darfur question you posed, but why should I? Your response to my original post was to simply ask the question: "Is Darfur a Muslim issue then?" - did you respond to my points?
BTW, so generous of you to accept that the occupation sucks. But I believe it does more than suck - it has and continues to cost lives, livelihoods and everything that makes a person a human being. Did the holocaust suck?
Why is Darfur an issue for you, do you not have enough on your Arab-hating plate as it is, hypocrite?
"Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, probably the most famous and popular leader in the Islamic world."
A latently Islamaphobic ad. After this, how is it OK to bash Muslims and not Jews? "Probably the most famous and popular leader in the Islamic world" - the wording of that reveals that it was precisely crafted to imply that the majority of Muslims hold Amin al-Husseini, an allegedly "enthusiastic supporter of the Nazis," with the highest regard. In actuality, the most famous and popular Islamic leader would be Muhammad (pbuh). I've asked around - family, Muslim friends, Muslim colleagues - and nobody that I know of has ever heard of Amin al-Husseini.
It's ironic how propaganda like this can come from the same human rights preaching Jews that are responsible for every human rights abuse in Palestine and for every angry Muslim out there in the world.
Islamaphobia is the perfect tool for hasbara because you can take it as far as you like without consequence. It is perfect for keeping people afraid, because most people are ignorant. And, it keeps Palestinians oppressed - why lift the seige in Gaza, they're just terrorists. Who's going to care about a bunch of angry Muslims being offended? But call a spade a spade: the Jewish occupation of Palestine is apartheid - and watch as world Jewry seethes with rage at your "anti-semitism." Well f**k you.
Yes, the occupation of Palestine is a Jewish one (not just Israeli). Israel demands recognition as a Jewish state. Zionism's claim to Palestine is a Jewish one and based on Jewish scripture. Israel was "promised" to Jews. Israel's raison d'être is for Jews. In Israel, you're only accorded full rights if you're a Jew. I'm sick of "progressive" Jews pinning the blame on the "right-wing." It has nothing to do with being on the left or on the right, it has everything to do with being a Jew.
Reading that B’nai Brith poster upsets me. But, I can gladly say that I am still proud to be a Muslim. I would rather be a Muslim than a vicious and self-hating B’nai Brith Canadian Jew. You would have to hate yourself to hate others that much.
Watch the full Dispatches episode here.
Typical Israeli you are.
A reporter to an Israeli official: "Is it true that 1.5 million Israeli-Arabs are disenfranchised by Israel's system of democracy?"
The Israeli official: "Actually that figure is closer to 1.4 million. Any more questions?"
What about the rest of the f***ing question?!
Scientists at the University of Oxford Institute for International Studies recently conducted a $145 million research project in to the most definitive yet peaceful solution for the Israel / Palestine conflict. The scientists began by building the second largest supercomputer in the world that would allow them to process trillions upon trillions of instructions per second. The scientists, led by Dr George Hammerduke, then fed every detail in the history of the conflict - from the King-Crane Commission of 1919, the 1929 Palestine riots, the 1948 war, Camp David accords etc. to the more recent second intifada, Gaza conflict of 2008-2009, Obama's speech in Cairo, the demand for a settlement freeze, the Goldstone report, Fatah and Hamas reconcilliation talks, Netanyahu's economic peace etc. - in to the computer and awaited the computer's analysis and conclusion for a just and peaceful resolution for everyone.
The task was considerably more difficult than Dr Hammerduke had first predicted. During its analysis cycle, the computer underwent several overhaul procedures - the fitting of 112 additional central processing units, multiple memory expansions running in to the terrabytes and the construction of a liquid cooling tank housed outside of the laborotary. However, Dr Hammerduke and his team are now pleased to announce that, despite the initial setbacks, the computer's analysis of the Israel / Palestine conflict is now complete and that the computer has calculated a definitive conclusion devoid of all human politics and loyalties. The computer's conclusion was translated from computer bytes in to pixels and output on to a 1800mhz visual display unit - the latest in computer display technology. The computer's conclusion was: "OMG WTF!"
Dr Hammerduke and his team are now working with several of the world's best language and cryptographic experts to decifer the computer's simple, eloquent and just solution. The University has already begun promoting the computer's solution to world governments and NGOs: "OMG WTF!" t-shirts are available to purchase from the University's website.
"We are saying to the Palestinians that if you want a normal life and are trying to embark on a new way, you must stop your incitement."
When Israelis do it it's called "demanding justice." When the Palestinians do it it's called "incitement."
God bless Libya. Seems like they have the balls Abbas is missing. I'm sorry to say, that if the Palestinians drop the matter again - for the sake of more minutes on their mobiles - then I will no longer support their cause.
Here's the link for the video:

Why are my comments moderated?
I don't believe Palestinians have screwed themselves with suicide bombing. Going back to my last comment on this site, the IRA perpetrated some vicious bombing attacks in the UK but look where we are today.
It does, as others here have mentioned, all boil down to how interested the Western media is in bringing non-violent Palestinian protest to the attention of all of us. But, it's not all doom and gloom as we see with this Fox News report of the weekly Bil'in protest. The link will take you to CAMERA's site (unfortunately) where you can have a good laugh at their take on the report - there are three videos on the page and they all play simultaneously so you'll have to pause two of them. The video was originally posted on YouTube and Adam Horowitz wrote about it here, but YouTube have since taken the video down (I've tried lots of different search terms but can't find it).
So what you're saying is that if a Palestinian strapped a bomb to his waist, walked up to his nearest security checkpoint and blew himself up you would not regard him as a terrorist? Or, if a Palestinian strapped a bomb to his waist, called up his nearest security checkpoint to tell them of his plan, went along and blew himself up you would not regard him as a terrorist?
In Ireland recently the Real IRA shot two British soldiers outside their barracks. Would you agree this was a terrorist incident or not (bearing in mind that the motive behind the attack was political and that the UK and US have designated the Real IRA as a terrorist organisation)? The same could be said for Irgun - the group that was behind the King David Hotel bombing and was designated a terrorist group by the Israeli government of '48.
Interestingly, Netanyahu considers the King David Hotel bombing a legitimate act against a military target because of the advance warning given by the terrorists. He said, "Imagine that Hamas or Hizbullah would call the military headquarters in Tel Aviv and say, 'We have placed a bomb and we are asking you to evacuate the area.' They don't do that. That is the difference." The IRA used to give advance warnings when they planted bombs on the UK mainland - still, they were considered terrorists. Any attack by a group of terrorists is a terrorist attack because the motive behind it is political.
The fact is, it gets Israeli Jews', AIPAC's and other pro-Israelis' goats when they have to admit to past mistakes. In today's world, a terrorist is a man with a beard who wears a white hat and shouts "Allahu Akbar." God forbid Jews are viewed in the same light too, even if it was for past misdeeds long since buried. Talk about superiority complex.
Peace be upon you all.

Oh my God, that was hilarious. The audience was just superb! I love the bit when the Doc's eyes nearly pop out when the audience cheers Ahmadinejad.
According to the Doc, Israel demolishes Palestinian homes in response to acts of Palestinian terror - it has nothing to do with land grabbing. This blatant liar works with your children people. He works with your children.
