    • Israel started the six day war when Israel launched surprise attacks against Egyptian air-fields on 5 June 1967. If you want to describe Israel's invasion as naked genocidal aggression, go ahead. The facts about the six day war can easily be verified from multiple sources (Palestinian, Israeli and western).

That's right, "life is not black and white" and "the situation is a little more complicated". During World War II, France was occupied, but its population wasn't ethnically cleansed and it wasn't wiped off the map. On the other hand, Palestine was ethnically cleansed (750,000 Palestinians) and 78% of its land conquered between 1947-1949, with the remaining 22% occupied in 1967 amidst further ethnic cleansing (another 320,000 Palestinians). Whereas France was occupied for 4 years, Palestine continues to be occupied to this day. Both occupations are barbaric and immoral, but for completely different reasons.

Resistance to foreign invaders is instinctive, legal and universal. Occupied people don't need the permission of their occupiers in order to resist.

    • In the fight against Apartheid, even Nelson Mandela refused to renounce armed resistance (including in exchange for his own freedom).

In February 1985, South African President P.W. Botha offered Mandela a release from prison on condition that he "unconditionally rejected violence as a political weapon". Mandela spurned the offer, releasing a statement through his daughter Zindzi stating "What freedom am I being offered while the organisation of the people [ANC] remains banned? Only free men can negotiate. A prisoner cannot enter into contracts".

    • 15 May 2014: Two Palestinian teenagers are murdered in cold blood in the West Bank by suspected Israeli snipers.
      - No arrests or charges in spite of security camera and news footage implicating Israeli forces.

12 June 2014: Three Israeli teenagers are kidnapped in the West Bank by suspected Palestinian militants.
      - Israel starts a massive collective punishment rampage against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and bombing raids on the besieged Gaza Strip.
      - On 30 June, the 3 missing Israeli teenagers are found dead, and 2 days later a Palestinian teenager is burned alive by Jewish Israelis.
      - On 8 July, after 26 days of non-stop collective punishment, Israel launches a full scale invasion of Gaza (the third in 5 years).

Q: If Israel can arrest 3 alleged Jewish Israeli terrorists WITHOUT demolishing their family homes, killing over 1600+ other Israelis, wounding 8600 others, detaining hundreds more, ransacking 1000+ and bombing 9000+ Jewish settler homes while relentlessly bombing settlement blocs from the air, land and sea, ...then why can't it arrest 2 alleged Palestinian terrorists the same way?

A: Israeli apartheid demands collective punishment.
Israeli fascism demands "death to the Arabs".
Israeli supremacism demands "a thousand non-Jewish lives" for "a Jew's fingernail".

Evidence of Israeli fascism will be ignored in the west until Israeli fascists start lynching Jewish Israelis who support Palestinians.

Israel abolished the death penalty in 1954 and put a Nazi war criminal on trial. But Israel routinely uses warplanes or death squads to summarily execute thousands of Palestinians (including women and children) WITHOUT charge or trial.

A recent mass summary execution occurred on 20 July 2014 at around 7:00pm (during iftar meal) when Israel obliterated 25 Palestinians from one family, the Abu Jame' (Jami) family (plus one other) in their four-storey home, in a densely populated residential neighbourhood in Khan Yunis:

Why did Israel obliterate 26 human beings? Because Ahmad Suliman Sahmoud, a "Hamas operative" was visiting a member of the Abu Jame' family.

And what crime was Ahmad Suliman Sahmoud convicted of?
And why did this particular "Hamas operative" have to be summarily executed at that particular instant while 25 other people were having dinner?
And how does the position of "Hamas operative" compare to "leader/founder of al-Qaeda" who was summarily executed without executing his family who lived in the same compound?
And how does the position of "Hamas operative" compare to Nazi war criminal who had the benefit of a trial BEFORE being executed?

And what were the crimes of the NINETEEN (19) CHILDREN (remembered below), five women (3 of whom were pregnant) and one other man who were summarily executed at the same time?

  • 'Heartbreaking' is U.S. government's talking point for Gaza massacre
    • "The loss of lives and the humanitarian impact is really heartbreaking" ~ John Kerry

It’s not heartbreaking ...heartbreaking is an emotional reaction to massive devastation caused by a sudden or cataclysmic event such as a mass shooting or natural disaster.

This is not a horrific but fleeting tragedy.
This is not a natural disaster ...not an earthquake, a hurricane, a flood, nor a tsunami.
This is an institutionalized regime of systematic oppression and domination (punctuated by bloody massacres every few years) that has been brutally imposed upon Palestinians, using overwhelming militarily force, for 66 consecutive years.
Palestine is an Israeli-made UNNATURAL disaster (aka. crime against humanity).

If a christian who volunteers dies in battle, he is not buried in the soldier’s cemetary because it is for jews only. However, this apparently was changed as of July 2013 because it got out and some people were upset and it was embarassing…………….

Correct, fallen non-Jewish Israeli soldiers (Druze, Christian, Muslim) are not buried in military cemeteries.

Here's a summary of the 2013 changes to the regulation governing fallen Israeli soldiers:
      link to jpost.com

The only change applies to "fallen soldiers of Jewish descent but who are nevertheless not Jewish according to Jewish law".
Previously, "fallen soldiers of Jewish descent" had been buried in the same section of military cemeteries but not in the same plot as their fallen Jewish comrades.
After the change, "fallen soldiers of Jewish descent" will be buried in the same plot within military cemeteries although not in the same row.

So "fallen soldiers of Jewish descent" have been promoted:
      - from same section but separate plot
      - to same plot but separate row

One burial policy for fallen Jewish Israeli soldiers (but with separate burial rows for soldiers "of Jewish descent but who are nevertheless not Jewish according to Jewish law"), a different burial policy for fallen non-Jewish Israeli soldiers = Israeli apartheid

The young man seen shot dead by a sniper in the video above has been identified as 20-year-old Salem Shamaly from the eastern Gaza City neighborhood of Shujaiya, where Israel committed a massacre early on Sunday morning. He survived the massacre but was then murdered in cold blood.

      - The Palestinian youth was accompanied by International volunteers on a search and rescue mission during a 3-hour ceasefire.
      - The search and rescue was conducted during broad daylight. All participants were unarmed.
      - The Palestinian was shot by a sniper and lay wounded (not captured on video, but at 2:18 he was "calling out to his loved ones" and then a shot is heard).
      - The wounded Palestinian (while laying on his back) was then shot dead in cold blood by a sniper.

The media makes out like this is an intractable conflict between two equal warring parties, but it is not. Palestinian extremists' attacks on innocent civilians must be condemned and ended but the root of the conflict lies elsewhere -- in the dispossession of the Palestinian people. Israel currently occupies, colonises, bombs, raids, and controls the water, trade and the borders of a legally free nation that has been recognised by the United Nations. In Gaza, Israel has created the largest open-air prison in the world, and then blockaded it. Now as bombs fall, the families, literally have no way to get out.
      ...
Our community has worked to bring peace, hope, and change to some of the world’s toughest conflicts, and often that means taking difficult positions to address the root cause. For years our community has looked for a political solution to this nightmare, but with this new round of horror unfolding in Gaza, the time has come to turn to sanctions and disinvestment to finally help end the horror for Israelis and Palestinians.

Furthermore, Hamas won a majority in the last Palestinian parliamentary election in 2006, and formed a unity government with Fatah. In 2007, Fatah (with US and Israeli backing) launched a military coup to try to topple Hamas from Gaza, but failed to do so. Hence the two current Palestinian governing entities.

I'm sorry but I mis-spoke. I'm an 'A-hole' and as you can see in the video, was under the influence after one too many swigs from a wine bottle. I, from my heart, I am profoundly, profoundly sorry and deeply apologetic. What I meant to say was...
"IRAN is looking for a reason to kill. They're looking for a reason to go across borders and take over land that doesn't belong to them and IRAN should get the fuck out and mind their own fucking business…We don't want IRAN to drop bombs on children."

      B. Video was Staged or Edited [apologies to Michael Oren]
We don't know anything right now. There were two hours of film that were taken, only seven minutes were released of these films. The many inconsistencies indicate the video was staged or edited in a manipulative fashion by persons unknown, probably Arab bootleggers who, in any case, have infringed my intellectual property rights. The inconsistencies you see at the five minute mark where I rinse my vocal cords with mouth wash, a wine bottle has been videoshopped into the frames, do you see that? What I clearly remember articulating was that "IRAN is looking for a reason to kill...", but the word IRAN has been edited out, in fact edited out multiple times. And the MI5 has a way of investigating this thing. There are many, many inconsistencies, but we'll have to wait for the findings of the investigation.

    • China did not ethnically cleanse Tibet. Tibetan leaders and dissidents have sought asylum in exile, but China doesn't summarily execute them, their relatives or compatriots by bombing their homes using warplanes, or snuffing them out in foreign cities using death squads. China "incorporated"/annexed Tibet into China and granted its population citizenship. There are no Chinese only settlements or Chinese only roads in Tibet, and there is no Chinese National Fund that reserves land for the exclusive use of ethnic Chinese.

Like Israel, China represses all resistance to its rule and arrests, tortures and imprisons Tibetans using kangaroo courts. But unlike Israel, it doesn't kidnap children from their beds at night and subject them to the same draconian military courts, courts with near 'perfect' conviction rates of 99.74% for adults and 99.88% for children[*].

In summary, China covets Tibet and its indigenous people, whereas Israel covets the remaining 22% of Palestine (it hasn't already cleansed & conquered) but without its indigenous people.

By all measures, Israel is still the most immoral occupier in the world.

    • What? ...Whatabout China?

Although China illegally and brutally occupies Tibet,
      - at least it does not ethnically cleanse the indigenous Tibetans from their homes & land in order to replace them with imported Chinese colonial settlers.
      - at least it does not execute Tibetan suspects without trial by warplane, by bombing them in public areas or in their homes, killing many innocent bystanders.
      - at least it does not use its state-of-the-art warplanes, warships and artillery to blitzkrieg, cluster and phosphorus bomb its defenceless Tibetan victims.

Although China runs a brutal police state in occupied Tibet,
      - at least it does not kidnap Tibetan children from their beds in the middle of the night, then blindfold/shackle, torture and imprison them.
      - at least it does not build impenetrable walls and fences around its Tibetan victims, and a myriad of checkpoints and roadblocks between them.
      - at least it does not impose 7+ year sieges against the defenceless Tibetans, in ruthless acts of collective punishment.

Although China shoots escaping Tibetans as they try to flee across the border,
      - at least it does not shoot unarmed Tibetan civilians carrying white flags as they try to flee dangerous war zones.
      - at least it does not use Tibetan children as human shields and booby-trap bomb detectors.
      - at least it does not murder international humanitarian activists in international waters.

Although China, India, USA and Indonesia (to name a few) are brutal occupiers, at least they don't use their own civilians as human shields by deliberately placing them in subsidised settlements on stolen land deep inside occupied foreign countries (countries with which they are still at war).

At the end of their journey, Zionists are expecting one state, an enlarged "Jewish State" that has rid itself of its so-called "demographic problem".
What they are likely to get is one state akin to either Algeria or South Africa.

      - No arrests or charges in spite of security camera and news footage implicating Israeli forces.
      - Palestinian owner of security cameras arrested and threatened by Israel, and cameras confiscated.
      - Deaths: 2 Palestinians / 0 Israelis
      - Arrests: 1 Palestinian / 0 Israelis
      - Home Invasions: 0 Palestinian / 0 Israeli

Three Israeli teenagers kidnapped in West Bank on June 12 by suspected Palestinian militants:
      - Israel immediately blames Hamas for the kidnapping while Hamas denies any involvement.
      - Israel starts a massive collective punishment rampage against Palestinians throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
      - The collective punishment rampage lasts 18 days and results in the death of 10 Palestinians, the wounding of more than 90, the detention of more than 540, the ransacking of 1000+ homes, and 100 bombing raids (airstrikes, shellings) on the Gaza Strip.
      - Deaths: 12 Palestinians / 0 Israelis
      - Arrests: 541+ Palestinians / 0 Israelis
      - Home Invasions: 1000+ Palestinian / 0 Israeli

The three missing Israeli teenagers found dead in the West Bank on June 30:
      - With the 2 Palestinian suspects still at large, the Israeli collective punishment rampage continues with demolition of the family homes of the suspects, and the arrest of their relatives.
      - Repeated calls for vengeance from Israeli officials including the Prime Minister.
      - No tear gas nor rubber bullets used by Israeli forces during funeral for murdered Israeli teenagers.
      - Israelis hold anti-Arab rallies in Jerusalem chanting "death to the Arabs" and attacking Palestinian passers by.
      - No tear gas nor rubber bullets used against Israeli riots in spite of anti-Arab violence of the mobs.
      - Deaths: 12 Palestinians / 3 Israelis
      - Arrests: 560+ Palestinians / 0 Israelis
      - Home Invasions: 1010+ (with 2 demolished) Palestinian / 0 Israeli

A Palestinian teenager kidnapped in East Jerusalem found dead in West Jerusalem on July 2, in a suspected act of Israeli revenge:
      - Israel immediately casts doubts as to motives for the murder by spreading rumours of a family feud/honor killing.
      - Israel detains and interrogates the father of the dead Palestinian boy and forces the boy's mother to take a DNA test.
      - Israel arrests 6 Israeli suspects.
      - No collective punishment of settlers in the West Bank and no punitive demolitions of the 6 Israeli suspects' homes.
      - No calls for vengeance from Palestinian officials.
      - Tear gas, rubber bullets & stun grenades used by Israeli forces during funeral for the murdered Palestinian teenager, with 170 Palestinians wounded in protests that followed, and another 11 wounded in Israeli air raids on Gaza.
      - Israeli forces brutally beat and detain Palestinians for allegedly throwing stones, with some beatings captured on video footage.
      - Deaths: 13 Palestinians / 3 Israelis
      - Arrests: 571+ Palestinians / 6 Israelis
      - Home Invasions: 1010+ ransacked & 2 demolished Palestinian / 0 Israeli

One judicial policy for Jewish settlers, a different judicial policy (collective punishment) for non-Jewish Palestinians = Israeli apartheid

Q: If Israel can arrest 6 alleged Jewish Israeli terrorists WITHOUT demolishing their family homes, killing 10 other Israelis, wounding 90+ others, detaining 540+ more, ransacking 1000+ Jewish settler homes and bombing settlement blocs with 100 bombing raids, then why can't it arrest 2 alleged Palestinian terrorists the same way?

A: Israeli apartheid demands collective punishment.
Israeli supremacism demands "a thousand non-Jewish lives" for "a Jew's fingernail".
Israeli fascism demands "death to the Arabs".

  • The Aftermath: Home demolitions and dead Palestinian teen follow Netanyahu call for revenge
    • Israel abolished the death penalty in 1954 and put a Nazi war criminal on trial. But Israel routinely uses warplanes or death squads to summarily execute thousands of Palestinians (including women and children) WITHOUT charge or trial.

A recent mass summary execution occurred on 18 November 2012 when Israel obliterated 10 Palestinian civilians from one family (four children aged 1 to 7, five women and one man) in their three-story home, and another 2 civilians in a nearby home in a densely populated residential neighbourhood in Gaza City:
      link to hrw.org

Israel also routinely metes out collective punishment against the 1.6 million Palestinian civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip and 2.6 million civilians in the walled-in, segregated West Bank and East Jerusalem. Its current collective punishment rampage has resulted in the deaths of 10 Palestinians, the wounding of dozens, the detention of hundreds, and the bombing of Gaza.

Now Israel has reinstated the barbaric collective punishment practice of home demolitions. These pre-emptive punishments are targeted at the relatives of Palestinian suspects, suspects who have not even been detained, let alone charged or tried in a court of law. In any case, the draconian Israeli military courts to which Palestinians are subjected are nothing more than kangaroo courts, with conviction rates of 99.74% for adults and 99.88% for children:
      link to haaretz.com
      link to haaretz.com

History is full of tyrants, dictators and fascists who have practiced just such collective punishment extortion, where a group of civilians is held hostage under constant threat of collective punishment. Not only is the punishment meted out to civilians for crimes they do not commit, but for crimes over which they have absolutely no control.

Such sadistic collective punishment is no less tolerable whether it involves death, rape, plunder, or simply just razing homes & villages into the ground.

I am sorry…i understand what your intent is…the poor stupid slave owner too ignorant to understand how ‘evil’, etc. But in my view that is complete and utter nonsense.

Robert E. Lee (future General of the Confederate Army) would no doubt have taken extreme issue with DaBakr's statement. He's what Lee actually wrote 158 years ago, in 1856 [my emphasis]...

In this enlightened age, there are few I believe, but what will acknowledge, that slavery as an institution, is a moral & political evil in any Country. It is useless to expatiate on its disadvantages. I think it however a greater evil to the white man than to the black race, & while my feelings are strongly enlisted in behalf of the latter, my sympathies are more strong for the former. The blacks are immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, socially & physically. The painful discipline they are undergoing, is necessary for their instruction as a race, & I hope will prepare & lead them to better things. How long their subjugation may be necessary is known & ordered by a wise Merciful Providence.

  • What if your friend had to die to preserve a Jewish state?
    • mondonut says: "your assertion - proven false by Arafat himself."

Do you realise each person has four grandparents and do you understand the concept of and/or?

Arafat is a Palestinian born in Cairo to Palestinian parents. One of his grandparents (paternal grandmother) was Egyptian, the rest were Palestinian.

Arafat is a Palestinian, unlike the young man's grandfather, the one mentioned in the video who we are told dreamt about, and migrated to Palestine (or Israel).

    • mondonut says: "Even Arafat himself had a grandparent not from Palestine."

Even Obama himself had two grandparents not from the United States, but he hasn't been denied his birth rights nor stripped of his American citizenship.

Similarly Oliver Tambo, Thabo Mbeki, and many others didn't lose their South African ancestry and birth rights simply by being forced to live in exile.

All Palestinians, including Jewish Palestinians (prior to Zionist colonization) are indigenous to what is now Israel/Palestine, and no armies, armistice borders or revisions of history can change that fact.

    • "my grandfather come here and dream about it, to be in Israel…"

Every living Palestinian's grandfather and/or grandmother, and great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents, and so on, are from Palestine. Palestine is their ancestral homeland, not Jordan, not Syria, not Chile, not Lebanon, not the United States, not anywhere else.

And Palestinians dream about living in their ancestral homeland free from occupation and oppression.

And every ethnically cleansed Palestinian and their descendants -- living in Israeli-enforced exile -- have the right to return to their ancestral homeland. Most of them live a short distance away on the other side of the border and they won't be waiting 2,000 years (or 80 generations) to return.

Therein lies the problem for Israel, the self declared Jewish State.

  • Israel demolishes Bedouin village in E1 -- that Obama declared was key to two-state solution
    • It is of course a violation of the Geneva conventions to transfer civilian population into occupied territories.

The civilian population being transferred into occupied territories is both Israel's second line of colonial conquest (land grabbing marauders), and its first line of defence (human shields) in potential future war zones.

Israel is the only country in the world that still uses civilian colonists (aka Jewish settlers) as human shields by deliberately placing them in subsidised settlements on stolen land deep inside occupied enemy territories (territories with which it is still technically at war).

  • Israel and its Middle East allies have embraced the three state solution
    • In 1951, the South African Apartheid regime formally imposed an 11-state solution by 'magnanimously' allocating 13% of South Africa's land to form 10 bantustans for the country's indigenous population.

Excluding the 43% of the West Bank that is off-limits to Palestinians (reserved for Jewish-only settlements/councils and roads, closed military bases and zones, Israeli declared nature reserves, areas cut off by separation wall, etc), leaves Palestinians with only 13% of their original homeland. It's ironic that this is equivalent to the 13% that the other Apartheid regime tried but failed to impose.

This leads to the question -- how many besieged, walled-in, ghettoized bantustans will the Palestinians be forced into before Israel ethnically cleanses them into Jordan and Egypt?

In any case, some Palestinians have already adapted to the current paradigm. Mahmoud Abbas is the Chief Buthelezi of Israeli Apartheid in the "self-ruled" Area A which comprises 18% of the West Bank (equivalent to a mere 3.7% of historic Palestine).

    • This is what a hypothetical "Dear Shmuel" letter may look like:

      Dear Shmuel Rosner,

As you know, many social and economic benefits in Israel (including government subsidies, public housing and employment) are conditional on military service, but the majority of Israeli Arabs are exempt from military service. This presents Israel with a carrot and stick dilemma, as reducing the level of "carrots" (subsidies) will not work for a group that receives so little to begin with. If Israel wants to modify the behaviour of Arabs before they damage its identity ("make Israel feel less Jewish"), it will need to use even more "sticks" on this demographic than it already does.

Haredis are also exempt from military service, but at least they're eligible for extra subsidies, including educational supplements, not available to Arabs. So reducing the Haredi share of "carrots" may work. However, if the reduction in subsidies does not reduce the birth rates of Haredis, then perhaps Israel can try birth control by coercion, which produced outstanding results when used for the Ethiopian Jewish community (an "almost 50-percent decline over the past 10 years in the birth rate") as reported below:

    • Justice Except for Palestine

"Imagine ... the Palestinians headed to the International Criminal Court and other international bodies, seeking recognition of their rights and international action against Israel."

If Israeli actions against Palestinians were justified as the apologists always claim, then why would "seeking recognition of their rights" lead to "international action against Israel"?

"What then? Congress has threatened to cut aid to the Palestinian Authority (and maybe to the UN bodies who accept them), the Israelis could be expected to launch a new wave of settlement construction (E-1, anyone?), and Palestinian tax revenue could again be withheld. [...]
If the PA stopped collecting garbage, does Israel resume full responsibility for West Bank services?"

What then? Extortion by the US and extortion by Israel, and yet more Israeli victimhood.

The Justice Except for Palestine brigade (aka liberal Zionists) are desperately clinging to the hope that a Palestinian leader (any leader, but Abbas is their last hope) would eventually succumb to Israeli/US extortion and negotiate Palestinian rights away. Not likely, as Nelson Mandela said, "only free men can negotiate".

    • Electronic Intifada, quoting a Ynet report, claims that the McDonald’s attack was targeted at Palestinian workers:

"One of the employees, of Arab origin, stepped outside to clean the tables, as several of the fans started talking to him. Once they realized he was an Arab they started yelling 'death to Arabs,' 'Muhammad the homo,' and other slurs the mind cannot tolerate."

  • African American artists, clergy and activists to Alicia Keys: 'the treatment Palestinians face shares much in common with what African Americans experienced under Jim Crow '
    • Just one of many reasons why apologists for Israeli occupation have lost credibility:

      * They indignantly denounce any non-violent BDS action against Israel as "collective punishment against Jews", while Israel lobbies for more crippling sanctions (and military aggression) against Iran, and continues its barbaric collective punishment of 1.6 million civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip, and 2.6 million non-Jewish civilians in the walled-in, segregated West Bank & East Jerusalem.

  • Yiddish classic of pogrom-- 'Our shtetl is burning'-- is adapted to Palestinian experience
    • The mass burning and demolishing of Palestinian villages & towns was completed 1947-49 and 1967.

Nowadays it's much easier to demolish Palestinian homes & villages using bulldozers, and to burn cities using WMDs from the air, sea and land...

      Abbas resigning? ...yeah right!

The President officially accepted my resignation. R.H.

The situation in this country forced me to resign. Conflicts, confusion, corruption. Palestine needs a real political reform. R.H.
