    It has been days since this happened and yet the incident still makes my blood boil. I have never seen a member of the cheering section treated so badly by those who depend on the cheering section. Newt showed that he has no clue how the rest of the world would react if the US opened the gates of hell by moving the embassy to Jerusalem. Romney showed an absolute lack of curiosity about the conflict and no understanding whatsoever of the plight of the Palestinian people.

    Dear God, please save us from them.

    And I fervently hope the young man who was treated so badly is no longer affiliated with the Republican party.

    I see some Twister-like gyrations here. To believe that a greater sin would be to not create greater Israel and that the evil being done to the Palestinian people is less than the first is inexplicable. Is that what you have to do to justify the Israeli government's actions?

    it took 15 years after the international Olympic committee's sanctions to drag the US into seeing that apartheid was wrong. I surely wouldn't expect anything quicker now, especially with all the money involved. I will be trying to educate as many people as I can in the meantime, though. The Occupation is sinful and must end. Now.

    I would point out that Rahm Emanuel probably had more influence than anyone with the President, and that codified Israel's arrogance. I am still looking for this Administration to say that enough is enough and pull all aid to Israel. Netanyahu said they didn't need it anyway, so why support this sort of military hubris?

    Really? Because I was looking for the moderate Jewish voice from the US and Israel. I just have trouble hearing it.

    This will go on until the US Jewish community makes it stop. The rest of us can only try and educate them to see what is really going on.

    It saddens me that in all likelihood these protests will lead to more taking of Palestinian land to create "affordable housing" (read: Greater Israel)

    How I wish they were truly driven by righteousness rather than self-interest.

    Absolutely nothing has changed. It would be helpful to work on a map showing the "unrecognized villages" and tell the story of the widow's house in Alsira which was demolished because it was unrecognized. Water is a real challenge for this village.

    I consider myself anti-Zionist but not anti-Jewish. My problem with Zionism is the same as my problem with Apartheid. Did God create a superior race? I don't think so. But that was the Zionism I saw when I was there.

    But would a one-state solution treat both the European Jews that make up a significant part of the population and the Arabs that make up a much larger part of the population as equals?

    Not from what I saw.

    The Palestinian people are not the caricatures you hear about in the US or in Israel. But it serves a very narrow and prejudiced agenda to portray them that way.

    The old belief was that God was inside of the mount, but I thought that was disproved during the Babylonian exile. Besides, try getting close to the Western Wall of the mount on a Friday morning. Not so easy.
