  • Horrifying details continue to emerge of massacre in Khuza'a
    • Goldstone may be a coward, but i'm sure there are many more in the ranks who totally support what Israel are doing. It's not hard to condemn evil, and yet US stand up for Israel everytime an opportunity is provided, whether it will lead to negative press or not. Israel couldn't have done any of this without help from the US, and yet the US is still helping them, and will continue to do so. Whoever makes decisions for the US must be every bit as evil as the IDF.

  • U.S. casts lonely vote against establishing war crimes inquiry in Gaza
    • “The decision today by the UNHRC is a travesty and should be rejected by decent people everywhere,” the Israeli government said in a statement sent to journalists. “The predicable result will be the libeling of Israel and even greater use of human shields in the future by Hamas.”

Obviously this is a blatant lie, the absolute opposite is true. It should be the easiest thing to vote yes for war crimes to be investigated, for decent people. Even if there’s 0% chance of war crimes having taken place, it’s still the type of question that deserves a ‘Yes’ – in my eyes it’s almost a rhetorical question – “Should we or should we not investigate crime?”, well of course we should! If they hadn’t committed any war crimes, then they would have welcomed the vote – it would have been good publicity for them if later headlines read “Israel handling situation in most humane manner in face of terrorism, example for all”, but obviously they’re trying to hide away and limit negative publicity, shame on them… What I find really saddening, though, is the wording “human shields”… So they only see Palestinian civilians as shields protecting a greater evil, fair game to gun down. Even If they are being used as shields by Hamas, that’s no reason they should be killed, innocent civvies trapped in conflict should be protected. Hell, some cultures treated their actual material shields better than the Israel treats innocent humans born to the ‘wrong side of the wall’. Hope some actual actions come from the UN, Palestine needs some resistance between them and their killers, quite depressing that after everything, the larger world is still at the stage of asking questions to determine if what’s going on should be allowed to continue.

    • So true, it saddened me to see my country abstained, along with the other EU countries. Maybe they had a good line of thought over abstaining, but it can only be the easiest thing for decent leaders to cast a ‘Yes’ vote to the question that was asked.. I mean, even if there has been no wars, no conflicts, nothing – “Should we investigate crimes?” – Yes, why not?
