Where the article actually needs correction is on the timeline, which states that the refugees fled AFTER the declaration of statehood in 1948, when most of the Palestinian population had already BEEN EXPELLED.

Teta - it depends on the context. There's one definition of Jew for the Law of Return and then there's the halachic definition, which is something else. The Israeli Interior Dept is under the control of the religious and has been deporting quite a lot of Russians who aren't Jewish enough for them, who can't find their maternal great-great-grandmother's ketuba.

iirc, halal slaughter allows a limited stunning that renders the animal unconscious but not dead, which is more humane than kosher slaughter, which does not. Otherwise, the processes are the same, given that halal laws were based on Jewish laws.
