  • Is equality a 'nightmare' for liberal Zionists?
    • If you ever listen to the Palestinian Jews they say all the time that they were doing just fine and dandy before the Zionist invasion. Arab Palestine was for Arabs. So for all these problems and complications everyone keeps talking about...the Zionists brought with them every problem for everyone. It's not the Palestinian question. It's the Zionist question. The Zionists are the problem!

  • At Gaza rates, West Bank evacuation would cost $140 billion
    • Since the whole piece of real estate is Palestine (it's only "Israel" on paper that means something only to a few, and paper burns easily or it can just blow away)....it only makes sense for anyone living there to become Palestinians. Palestinians and their supporters are the gold that backs it, not just a flimsy piece of paper held by someone with a gun in his hand. In order to make it last for who are currently calling themselves "Israelis"...the smartest thing for them to do is get on the other side of the wall, fight with the Palestinians and agree to live together as Palestinians when that piece of paper blows away.

  • An arrest on the West Bank
  • loving my mother, a 1 a.m. epiphany
  • solution to the Israel/Palestine conflict is at hand!
    • how could Israel be a homeland for Jews when it could never be large enough? I am including all of Palestine since they plan on taking it anyway. It's still too small! So...another obvious myth just like their so called heritage.

    • Well Gellian, if that were to be ever stated on CNN Israel would disappear like a mirage! And for some reason, if it isn't on CNN Americans don't know about it.

  • In the beloved Old Country, a Jew has visions of her homeland
    • I would give up the holocaust if I was a Jew out of embarrassment. . After all these years it seems to be getting rather obvious to most people. A bromide that doesn't do the job when Israel massacres people who were there before they got there and who are not going away.

    • When innocent people are made to suffer from man’s inhumanity, each instance is one to which we should say, “Never again.”

      amen g.pod!

    • They mostly conclude, “IF” there is a demonstrated path in which Palestinians and Jews/Israelis (often not distinguished in Arabic) can coexist, then wonderful. If not, then, we cannot just suicide or agree that we are even mosquito fodder (rockets, intermittent terror).

try going home? Or maybe just give tourism revenue back to the people of the land? Give them back the airport you people call the Ben Gurion but was not really the name of the airport? Move out of the village that belongs to some of the people murdered in the Gaza massacre! Move out of Jerusalem that belong to them too! I have to say, I really don't like thieves either! YES the USA is a thief too! I am ALL on the side of the native Americans! I don't like this thieving business and I don't like genocide! I don't like the people who perpetrate it or condone it! People like this make the world an ugly place! So naturally I don't like Israel! I root against you day and night.

  • Seham: 'social conservatism in Gaza is a result of violent occupation'
    • There was a time when Palestinian society was influenced by the west and things were very westernized, like in the 60s and 70s. Young people followed the US model of culture and dress. But the US lost it's hip appeal, the Palestinian revolution was gearing up and people traded the western trend for their traditional customs. The more Islamic they appear and the more they adhere to traditional customs is a signal that they are rejecting outside influence. It's a sign of strength not weakness. It's their way of saying (and experiencing) they are better than us with inner strength since they are militarily inferior and under direct threat. It's their lifeline. That's why it spread from Palestine to Jordan where the people are not directly threatened. It's strength through unity.

  • Some reflections on women's roles in Gaza
    • Makes sense, Eva, I always read that God is closer to the weak because it's then we are open or reaching out. When we are back on our feet and moving forward, we don't even look back to thank God!

    • RE:One of the reasons why I support a one-state solution is because it will enable Palestinians to live in a liberal society – here in Britain, you can have two sisters, one covered head to toe and the other wearing Western clothing, and no-one would blink an eyelid.

I'm curious , what do you have to support your argument that mixed schools perform better than segregated schools? And regarding the point being made in the post we are commenting on, since you disagree with your community leader's call on the issue, would you solicit the local Jehovah Witness chapter if they agreed to come in and offer influence? Maybe offer your children seats in their classrooms because you all (Muslims) are so backward? Remember from your own religion which states clearly that a Muslim does not take a non Muslim as an intimate friend nor accept their help because they offer help only to rob you of your treasure which is your religion. There is a reason why Muslims stay within their own community. Take a closer look at the post. Read deeper, it carries an important message for you.
