M.C. for what I AM and do
The A is for Adam and the lyrics; true
So as pray and hope and the message is sent
And I AM living in the dreams that I have dreamt
RIP
Ackerman is himself an Israeli-Firster who leans on neocon puppets like Evan Kohlman, a make-believe terrorism 'expert' (who doesn't speak Arabic, never served in the military or intelligence, never lived in a Muslim country, etc.), to 'support' the usual hate parade that passes as journalism in the mainstream.
Any chance we can get Blankfort to chime in here (or anywhere for that matter)?
Well, shit ... The Saudis 'support' a Palestinian state, but that doesn't mean much, does it? Instead, follow Israeli investment in India, joint terrorism programs, overlap in geo-political interests, etc.
MRW: I tend to believe that Israel has made a long term bet against the US. It has been using our country's military to set the stage for a post-US world wherein Israel's neighbors / potential regional competitors will be reduced to chaotic, failed state status thereby mitigating Israel's need for broad US-like protection.
Meanwhile, the future host for the Israeli virus is, in my view, most likely being established in India because of its historical Hindu/Muslim divide, natural resources and the fact that it serves as a geographic bulwark against an unsympathetic China.
If indeed Israel feels that Iran is such a bloody, clear, absolute looming threat to it, go at it Israel. Just don’t go trying to get us to do the dirty work for you and get us to pay the price.
Too late. The US is the public face of the sanctions against Iran (even if every honest observer knows that they were engineered in Tel Aviv) and it is the US Navy, not Israeli, that is now floating around the Gulf. The US vs. Iran war has already begun and, just as in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, etc, Israel is nowhere near the battlefield instigated by its actions.
So, basically, Donald gets the clampdown on Blankfort that he was agitating for, huh?
Disappointing turn, Mondo.
Well said. "They're all shit" should be the first premise in any honest political argument today.
I still maintain that OWS was, from its inception, nothing more than manufactured dissent --it came out of hanky panky, Kathleen. Why create OWS? Keep the left-ish stuff diffuse and vague and toothless while giving it an outlet that resembles a junk drawer, a total mess. Crowd control 2.0
And most of the steel from the WTC buildings --the evidence-- was quickly shipped off to China and India before any thorough examination. WTF?
Here's CNN's uncut Paul interview
And did you catch her closing snipe, Israel/WTC '93 bombing blah blah, that she pukes out at the end of the video? Yeah, Borger is definitely gross.
Holy shit that was awesome.
That's right. And you can throw Friedman into that establishment-dissent stew as well.
(btw: Bolano has a short story with your name. Or did you know that?)
But Dan: in all of the above cases, Israel is/was the greatest beneficiary and, as I read him, that's Phil's point. Over the last 30-40 years, what long-term military conflicts fueled by the US did not involve or benefit Israel?
Does that mean Breathless? Or is Godard obviously an anti-semite because he's beyondo?
Yo, Phil, what movie do you want to live?
Don't you worry. Dennis will be well rested when he reappears in the next administration in order to jump start/refocus/sabotage another round of non-negotiations.
HA! I'd buy that bumper sticker
That's right. So, next question: How many senior US State Department employees have some kind of connection to Israel?
BTW: We should start sending questions and encouragement to Super Lee.
Would pay to see Lee ask Nuland about her neocon bloodline during the Q&A show. Pretty sure her head would explode.
Or: delete everything from gwh until the end of the address line.
Bigger problem: Why isn't the NYT included in a cultural boycott of Israel? It's a propaganda mill, Mondo. Criticism only serves to justify the NYT's existence, Mondo.
The old grey queen should be put down like a sick animal before its disease infects others.
I'm with you, Kathleen. . .
The comparison between the media blackout of the Feb 2003 march against the Iraq War in NYC and the eager rush to cover OWS is very telling. Simply: MSM does not touch a subject that it can't control, that might upset its broader narrative. Manufactured dissent, on the other hand, gets its own NYT blog.
A couple of years, some NYU students, I think philosophy majors, took over their cafeteria and demanded an "in depth investigation of all investments in war and genocide profiteers, as well as companies profiting from the occupation of Palestinian territories" and "that annual scholarships be provided for thirteen Palestinian students."

I'm pretty sure that these students were kicked out and certain that no one cared. Wonder where they are now?

I'm wondering how much of the OWS phenomenon is the Democrats' answer to the Tea Party: manufactured dissent. So far, a lot of this 'protest' reeks of Establishment --coverage, validation, etc.
Awesome article, Blankfort. Now get off your ass and write/post more here!
Thanks
Gotta love how Netanyahoo uses english rather than hebrew
Check out his 'apology' . . .
"There is simply no excuse for terrorism and the murder of the nearly 3,000 innocent victims of the 9/11 attacks on our country," Bennett said in the statement. "My life experiences -- ranging from the Battle of the Bulge to marching with Martin Luther King -- made me a lifelong humanist and pacifist, and reinforced my belief that violence begets violence and that war is the lowest form of human behavior."
Classy stuff
That's wild stuff from Tony Bennett. I had heard he was for the people but thats awesome! Anyone like his paintings?
Matthews = TV = Establishment = Zionism = FAIL
Sheikh Hasina is the current prime minister of Bangladesh.
"We have too much information, but it's stupid information."
It's not information at all --it's merely propaganda designed to create hysteria in order to divert our attention away from the reality we can influence and toward a make-believe world where someone is profiting from every step of this info -> propaganda -> hysteria chain.
Is the MTA going to refund cardholders for its down days? How much money did the MTA (which is as corrupt as any Zio-lobby mob) just make from this stunt?
Every year in August, like clockwork, the Carolinas get hit by a storm that fizzles out as it crawls up north. Every year. Why is our life cycle, one that is as reliable as the return of Christmas, being spun by three predictably unreliable groups: meteorologists, politicians and media. It's as if we're being asked (and some even forced) to abandon the reality we know/trust and choose instead a made-for-profit pseudo-reality.
I think you and American nailed it: the Zionists fuel anti-semitism all over the world and then claim 'We need Fortress Israel because everyone hates the Jews.'
As this site has frequently pointed out, the biggest anti-semites going are the Zionists.
". . . the League of Women Voters moderated the 1976, 1980, 1984 debates before it withdrew from the position as debate moderator with this statement after the 1988 Presidential debates: "the demands of the two campaign organizations would perpetrate a fraud on the American voter." The Commission was then taken over by the Democratic and Republican parties forming today's version of the CPD . . .
In 1988, the League of Women Voters withdrew its sponsorship of the presidential debates after the George H.W. Bush and Michael Dukakis campaigns secretly agreed to a "memorandum of understanding" that would decide which candidates could participate in the debates, which individuals would be panelists (and therefore able to ask questions), and the height of the podiums."

80-something in Kauai, HI and about the same in the holy, blue ocean in front of me. Home.
Have a good weekend!
That's right. In politics, at least in a democracy, shorting is called dissent.
God bless you
Oops. I thought this had something to do with Rahm becoming mayor of Chicago.
"A history professor at University of Houston explained to me that an uprising that is successful is a “revolution,” otherwise it is called a revolt."
Ask him what you call the first People's Revolt in the face of 30+ years of fascist oppression. Spain?
Yes, Prime Minister.
Sorry, but Basquiat sucked. Downtown 81 is what you really wanted and if you don't know, you better ax somebody.
"Gellian, the problem is not the voting Jewish population, the problem is precisely the wealth and influence. While the majority of the Jewish voters lean left, the wealth and influence overwhelms it on the right"
Were the Jewish frat boys and girls from NY/NJ/Conn that were partying in Israel at night screeching 'Fuck Obama' wealthy? Were the thousands of Jews in New Orleans busy reloading their hasbara wealthy? How about the Orthodox in Brooklyn who fuel the psycho-settlers? Please.
The mindset of American Jews is the problem; the money, in this climate, is nearly irrelevant. As for left-leaning voting tendencies, Progressive Except for Palestine is the phrase that leaps to mind.
(BTW: Why was this post modded away the first time?)
So, you think Americans want more war? That's an easy theory to test. Simply institute a new draft and let's see how that goes over. (luckily, I'm not a black congressman so I can get away with saying the obvious)
And hell, if you really believe Americans are so full of bloodlust, let's sell the new war as Americans Die Overseas For Jews Cause They're Too Precious To Fight. Reasons ought to be irrelevant for a nation of murderers, right?
Whoa. I almost feel bad for Foxman. All of that snorting and hyperventilating, I felt like I was about to witness a generational heart attack. Dude should be talking to his cardiologist, not a reporter.
Of course they've been prefaced by several months of mainstream Muslim bashing, such that the American public is now prepared for 'the truth' about Israel and those other brown, mostly Muslim people that they're always fighting with.
Too funny, too sad.
Sorry Sin, wasn't replying to you but to potsherd who said that there was no process for the last 2 years. My point was to show that Mitchell spent 2009 having his chain jerked in the name of The Process.
Really? That's kind of a disappointment. I read your posts, you know better than that . . .
"On January 22, 2009, President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appointed Mitchell as the administration's Special Envoy to the Arab-Israeli peace process, formally known as the "Special Envoy for Middle East Peace".[23] The appointment was seen as an indication of the new Obama administration's increased focus on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. The choice of Mitchell allowed Obama to demonstrate the seriousness and sincerity of his intentions regarding the peace process, without forcing him to immediately embark on a specific initiative before conditions were yet ripe. An analyst at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars said Mitchell's appointment "says to the world, 'I care about this issue; be patient with me.'"[23] Abraham Foxman, the National Director of the Anti-Defamation League, has stated that, "Sen. Mitchell is fair. He’s been meticulously even-handed."[24]"

Process. Like a Cuisinart.
That's not correct. The Israelis need the peace process, not peace. The Process, and the laughable, Python-esque state of war it implies exists between the Palestinians and Israelis, provides cover for untold sums of US aid, financial and diplomatic, and casts the US in the role of Israeli watchdog. Take that away and it's impossible to justify US support.
Sorry, but I disagree. Falling under the protectorate of the US empire is, in terms of world acceptance, 'official enough' --everything else is just ornamentation.
You could argue that Israel is looking ahead, to the time when the US can no longer afford Israel. But that's why the empire has spent the last 10 years unleashing Chaosistan from the ME up to the borders of China; there's no better defense for a small, unpopular state like Israel than a global mess.
No, The Process will grind on until there is either no empire left to shield Israel or no remaining potential threat. Oddly, the Palestinians will get a little breathing room until the US as attack dog has exhausted itself for its Israeli master.
"He was saying that if Israel doesn't make sacrifices, in a hurry, it faces a choice of official apartheid, ethnic cleansing or one-state."
Hardly a choice. That is the goal of the Israelis (the people, not merely the gov): one ethnically cleansed state with apartheid laws to address the stubborn debris.
I don't know why this fact gets stated as though it were some kind unintended consequence when it is obviously Israel's reason for being. That the world isn't making this point explicit now only shows that The Process is a far more ridiculous sham than the one you describe.
I'm not Annie, but I think you're missing the point . . .
Can you show me another (working) DC-insider who has publicly criticized Israel to the same degree and with the same precision as Freeman?
Damn . . . Freeman is a great writer.
Great job, Joseph. One suggestion: you replace Abu Mazen with a puppet, preferably a sock so we can work in some shoe jokes.
I agree, but remember this is the same Bloomie who, bizarrely, felt compelled to cheerlead Gaza.
Nice to hear from someone else who also views the partition as a tragedy. I see it as the fault line around which fracturing will continue to be generated throughout the area. Everyone knows Kashmir, Pakistan's border region and Tamil, but they know less about West Bengal/Naxalites, Sikh independence and the 100+ other independence movements coursing through India today. You have to wonder if these things would even exist if Delhi and Islamabad weren't pre-occupied with one another. Seriously, how many Bangladeshes can these myopic, idiots afford to produce?
On the ME/Latin America connection, something I've come to believe is that Islam is increasingly looking like what (Catholic) Socialism was to South America 20-ish years ago --an organizing tool for the poor and an anti-imperial, somewhat anti-capitalist declaration in general.
"Peaceful resistance. It’s killing the Israelis.
BDS."
That's awesome.
So, are we maintaining a countdown to President Petraeus or just assuming that's what the logical conclusion of a Color Revolution in the US will look like?
LeaNder:
I understand. More importantly though, I'm glad someone else feels compelled to defend the beautiful Weltanschauung (certainly makes me feel like less of a didactic kook).
Guten appetit!
Correction: 'Weltanschauung' is not a Nazi word for world view, merely a German one that was used extensively throughout the history of Western philosophy, long before there was any Nazi propaganda or German scapegoating.
The NYT iPad app is a piece of shit and it will fail, but that's not sufficient. The NYT has already been exposed as nothing more than Zioprop and ought to be included in any cultural boycott of Israel.
Speaking of Chas Freeman...
Did I miss this site's coverage of Dennis Blair's own Lost finale?
And it might 'heighten the danger posed by Arab men to Jewish girls.'
The Times UK is a Murdoch rag and as relevant as our Post or Bret Stephens.
You nailed it, cogit8.
And there's the Iran Palestine linkage that Israel wanted all along.
But there's no difference between the Senate and the military when one is calling for crippling sanctions on Iran while the other is positioning itself (literally as in Diego Garcia) for a war there. They're both marching towards the same, Israeli defined, end.
And if anything, Averny hardens my belief that the overblown Petraeus comments were nothing but a part of this 'disinformation war' --chastise Israel while doing its bidding. When Petraeus declares that Iran poses no threat to the US --you know, speaks the obvious Truth-- I'll change my mind.
$50k to buy an ambassadorship to the Netherlands? Hmm. Doesn't say much for the Dutch but does kinda explain the underwear bomber.
Look what falls out of the shadows when two shitty policies collide. Too funny.
Phil, why didn't you follow up on your sighting of Israeli lobbyists at the Tea Party/anti-Obamacare events last summer?
Well, something's up --Obama has now delayed his trip to Indonesia until the summer.
Yep, that was a disturbing article. But it's in line with Petraeus' 'thugocracy' quote from CNN and it smells like the run up to Iraq.
At best, Petraeus is a Powell-like pitchman --the reasonable warmonger. In the nightmare scenario, he's going to Return from the Front to Save the Republic.
I tend to agree with dalybean --our Presidents are weakest during their first term. By the time they get to their second term, they've stopped mistaking their hubris for genius and now have nothing to lose --not a good combo if you're the Devil. In my lifetime, Carter was doomed for being Carter, term 2 Reagan was in a coma, Bush I was ditched post-Iraq I and Clinton found Monica.
As for King George, he really was unwinding many of his neocon sins --a drawdown in Iraq, Iran war = Denied, releases and military trials at Guantanomo ( better than Obama limbo?), a Mossad spy master --Uzi something or other-- was banned from the US (ostensibly for the Rosen- Guildenstern-AIPAC affair, but who knows? And yes, of course he was re-admitted under Obama), the Libby kamikaze and no Libby pardon ...anyway, if someone believed half of what's posted on this site, it's a topic worth pursuing.
"If Obama travelled to Cairo, you have to think his intent was good to start"
I'd like to believe that, just as I'd like to believe that the Biden incident was what really delayed Obama's trip to Indonesia.
