The Balfour Decleration seems to recognise a Palestinian people, one which didn't need to migrate across continents, revive a language, adapt to a new climate, learn new geography or eat new foods.

There is plenty of footage of the IDF standing by, even protecting, settlers as they throw stones at Palestinians making their way to school or shopping, with none of them having the protection of a helmet or armored car. Maybe the Palestinians should swap the sling shot for the pain ball gun as used on the Mavi Marmarra.

Had these Bedouins been Jewish, their treatment would be called antisemitic. It also shatters the claim that Israel and the USA's foreign policies are perfectly aligned. BHL in an earlier fantasy piece on the blockade, commented that the blockade was also enforced by Egypt. I wonder if he truly would support democracy promotion in the land of the Pharohs, some how I doubt it?
The BBC showed a report from the West Bank yesterday, where Salam Fayyad said he is no longer going to wait for diplomacy and negotiations, but is building his own facts on the ground. He is hopeful and says 2011 will be the year in which the occupation ends.

I see the Whitehouse was pretty quick to condemn these remarks as 'Offensive And Reprehensible', I wonder what that makes the attack on an Aid flotilla, or the blinding of an activist, or the bombing of Gaza?
In her defence, she was asked for her comments on Israel not Jews, she responded 'Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine. Remember these people are occupied and it's their land'.
She then said they should go home ' back to Poland, Germany, America and everywhere else'. I'm not so sure the case against her is technically as damming as some make out, still wouldn't like to be in her shoes though.
I heard that tape too and it sounds fake to me, especially when compared to an earlier recording audio youtube clip that was released by the IDF desk.
It seems rather transparent: antisemetic remark - check, anti american remark - check, and all in crystal clear audio, unlike the audio on the original far less damming tape which was pimped out.

Israel claims to build on the land of their ancestors, well in this case it's clear they are building on the bones of someone elses ancestors.
May I suggest building a library instead, ideally one with a section for dictionaries so that the word tolerance can be looked up by these 'tolerant' Israelis.

I personally have tried to stop referring to the settlements as illegal, and instead refer the settlers as criminals. I think such a change in language is useful, as illegal, especially in the wake or the Iraq war, has lost it's meaning. Whereas criminal suggests something or someone that runs contrary to all nations.
Meanwhile Israel has stopped issuing work permits for International NGOs working in the occupied territories. I guess we won't see that on CNN or the symbolic donations of toys made by Palestinians to the children of Haiti.

By Israel's own twisted logic, the rockets of Hamas are in fact military aid donated at great personal risk .
There is something about the spent tear gas cannister that serves as a rather apt metaphor for Israel at this moment.
