Throughout Rawan's writing, one can find the deep narrative of Palestine.

      Keep telling the story.

A good job Joe. Keep writing. Keep telling the story. People over there wanna know it.

  • Watch live video from OccupyAIPAC
  • Borders of the mental and physical kind
    • In Palestine, borders stop us bluntly. No care for family, love and future plans, borders are there to tell we can't make it to the other parts of our scattered homeland and our impoverished people. I hate borders, both mental and phsycoligical.

Thanks Pam for reveailing some of the unknown truth.

  • Hip hop leads the way in Gaza's first talent show
  • Randa Adnan: The world must intervene to save my husband
    • Thank you Joe for the informative report. Keep up the hard work. You are a gift from heaven to Gaza and its people.

  • Thirsting for justice
    • In Gaza, people are thirst to freedom the same as justice. As our Irish fellows put it. Our day will come. Thank you Ishraq and Laila. Keep up the hard work.

  • Seeing Rawan Yaghi on Skype
    • As long as we have people like you and a website like Mondoweiss.net, I believe, Gaza's untold story will be narrated and heard. Gaza people are well-educated and aware of global issues that many Americans, who calim knowledge, are unaware of.

      OUR DAY WILL COME!

  • Gaza youth hear about Israel lobby's role from Abunimah via Skype
  • 'NYT' and 'Haaretz' and world opinion are now greatest threat to Israel, Netanyahu reportedly said
    • Any Media outlet attempts to be honest even for a while is marked as a threat to Bibi's radical government. Thomas Friedman was not supposed to decry Israel the other day!

  • If I must die
    • This poem tells the deep narration of Palestine. The tragedy of kids who do nothing in Summer, but flying a kite. The wish, the aspiration of being a story, at least. The dream of not being a number.

Thanks Mr. Refaat for this deep and emotional poem.

  • Jericho, City of the moon
    • My mother's family live in Jericho. We have not been allowed to get "a permit" to move to the other part of our homeland since 2000. I feel jealous. I want to go there. I want to say goodbye to my mother's parents who I could not seen while they were alive. I feel jealous. I feel jealous. I feel jealous.

  • Gaza students discuss 'Occupy Wall Street'
    • It was in English, the most common used language at CPDS's seminars. It was via Skype, so, it was not recorded, unfortunately.

  • Horror of Memories: Reflecting on the third anniversary of the war on Gaza
    • “eee”, next time, write your name, don’t worry, you will not get more than you deserve a ICC!
It’s not about Hamas. You have been occupying us since 1948. Hamas was created in 1987. IOF killed Mustafa Altamimi in Al-Nabi Saleh. It’s about culture of killing unarmed civlians.

Thanks for dopping by guys, excluding one!

    • "eee", next time, write your name, don't worry, you will not get more than your deserve as ICC!
It's not about Hamas. You have been occupying us since 1948. Hamas was created in 1987. IOF killed Mustafa Altamimi in Al-Navi Saleh. It's about means or place. It' about your culture of killing unarmed civlians.

  • Christmas greeting from Palestine 2011
  • #IsraelKills: Activists take to Twitter to protest Tamimi death
  • I was Mustafa Tamimi
    • Israek kills Palestinians who refuse to be its slaves. Israel claims the life of children. This is simply its job: to kill. Had not they killed Mustafa, they would killed his kids, years later. No Palestinian is allowed to simle there. Peace be upon Nabi Saleh.

Thanks Sir for your powerful piece.

  • Mustafa Tamimi has died
    • This is the cruelity of occupation agianst an unarmed civlialan who non-violently protests the confiscation of his lands. This is the culture of claiming others' lives. A justifcation will be there whoever the murdered person.

R.I.P comrade, We will continue the struggle.

  • Two Palestinians dead in Gaza, a story of mourning and peace
    • This is only a part of the story of a single day in Gaza. Thanks Waleed for sharing your feelings with us.
      Another day begins in Gaza.

  • Welcome Annie Robbins as Writer at Large
    • Welcome Annie. Thank you for your priceless efforts with Phil and Adam. I have known you comitted to what you believe in.

  • Wala’: The untrodden beauty of Palestine
    • Wala'a. Amazing story told by a great narrator. Samehaa, I am speechless. You always insist on reminding me of the other part of me. My Mother's place of birth. Peace be upon The West Bank, excluding the settlements there.

  • Rafeef Ziadah - 'We teach life, sir'
    • We teach life, sir.

The Arabic word for poet is " Sha3er (male), Sha3era ( female). It comes from the verb " Yash3or" which means ( feel). Poets feel what we don't. Palestinians are poets by nature. They experince what others don't. Occupation teaches them to feel what the rest of the world does not. The list of Palestinian talented poets is endless. ( The late Palestinian poet Mahmous Darwish is an example).

Peace be upon poets who once have been kicked out of Plato's Republic!

  • Huwaida Arraf: 'They have lies to spin; we have truths to tell'
    • Well done Huwaida, Annie. The Israeli PR machine is losing. Palestine is gaining. Future is ours. In Palestine, everything is rationed, except hope.

  • 'What was that?' my sister cried. 'Thunder,' I lied. That night they killed 3
    • It's one of the best pieces I have ever read Rana. Your incridble work and stunning words need to be read carefully, word by word. This is Gaza. It makes writers, great people like you. It lets people around know what it's going inside. Love you Gaza.

  • To my dear stateless Palestinian
    • Yousef M. Aljamal August 7, 2011 at 11:00 am

We, the Palestinians, were born stateless. We belong to nowhere. We have no identity. We are not recognized. We are being humilated in airports. We are used to sleep days wating mercy to cross. Our very passport does not grant us the right to visit the other part of our homeland to attend a wedding under aparthied.

It's a great thing to know that your mom is originally from Ager, where I belong to.

Thanks Sameha for getting our voices heard.

  • A wedding under apartheid
    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 14, 2011 at 6:55 am

"neighboring country"!! Occupation has never been neighboring. Stop dealing with people as if they are ignorant. Gone are the days when Israel used to defame the world. Our voices are being heard now and that's the disturbing thing in your view!

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 14, 2011 at 6:40 am

Sandy: Is not this what you (The West ) taught us to do? The US and Israel liked the idea election, so we did.

  • Cobban to young Gazan writers: The internet is your Tahrir Square
  • Benjamin Netanyahu's heart of darkness
    • This is the mentality of ignoring others, the mentality of Kurtz!. Do you expect too much from Bibi? He sees no one, but himself, no identity , but his superior one. Others are not there. They are attached to his culture. They are inferior and backward and Settlers there to " educate and civilize" them.!

It's totally a colonial discourse~ Shame on you " chief of settlers".

  • Report from the 'Mondo Awards' in Gaza
    • Thank you Adam, Annie and Philip. Your contribution to Gaza could not be compared with anything else. Well Done.

Now, I am sure that no one can stop and prevent Gazans' voices from being heard. You rock Mondoweiss.

      Yousef, Gaza.

  • Gaza Two Years Later: The Earth woke peacefully
    • The Earth will wake peacefully when those who were once upon time victims, realize the fact that says " Victims could be criminals" and being victims once upon time, I say it again, does not give them the right to practice a great scale-genocide upon us, their victims, in this case. PEACE BE UPON GAZA AND PALESTINE. Thanks Mohammed.

  • Back on TV due to popular demand.... 'The Peace Industry'
    • A great article Joseph. They have nothing to do to deceive their people, so the leaders work at peace industry. It's a never ending job!. The American policy in the middle east depends on long term-negotiations that don't not lead to and end. So , they have no problem to keep talking about " Peace talks " till the end of their life.

  • I am a Palestinian-American, and people tell me about my freedom
    • Yousef M. Aljamal August 18, 2010 at 1:21 pm

We, the Palestinians , are still looking for our stolen ID. I face the same problem each time I want to register at a website . Our ID had been stolen and we have to pay to get it back. Being an American citizen, you have to practice a great deal of patience to get your rights in a society, most of its people are still deceived by the Israeli propaganda .

  • It is only Palestine
    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 29, 2010 at 11:32 am

If I were not Palestinian, I would believe her!. She uses very beatiful words to attract who know nothing about Palestine and who are decieved by the Israeli propaganda. Still, nowadays, it's not an easy task " as it was at past" to tell the people the story that they want as we have many other sources that people follow to know the real truth in Palestine. The image of Israel as a group of victims who escaped from the Nazis in Germany had totally changed. The big problem is that they still act as victims, but people around the world became more aware of what is going on and they became familiar of who the right are and who the wrong are.

  • Artist who lost eye to IDF sings, Palestinians are experiencing a holocaust
    • If I want to summrise the issue within some words,,,

I may say " We are the victims of the victims"

still, I am thinking of the reason that pushes a victim to cause the same experience to other people the latter, I mean the the Palestinians, had no direct or indirect relation to the suffering of thier victimizers, the Israelis in this case!

  • During the time of the siege
    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 25, 2010 at 12:58 pm

Thaaaaaaaaaanks all for your replies.. it's my pleasure to keep in touch with such wonderful people and website.

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 22, 2010 at 3:58 am

I got your point in a wrong way. I do use Irony ,Saracasim or even Oxmron to mock the situation here. It works. t.c

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 22, 2010 at 3:48 am

Thank you Les and Roha. the point is that the western meida is controled by certain people who wanna show thier readers certain things and hide many other things, like my article. This is the reason why many peope in the West know nothing about what is going on Gaza and the West Bank. But in the last few years, people becmae more aware of what is going on and this is something great indeed.

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 22, 2010 at 3:37 am

Well, believe those who live in Gaza or someone came to Gaza, you trust. !

when you wanna buy something in Gaza, you pay its price doubled, in case that you are lucky and find it.

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 22, 2010 at 3:15 am

Well, You wanna me to blame Egypt? you forgot to mention Israel. Egypt opens the borders from time to time, however, this is not enough, but still Israel bears the responsiblity as it's considered according to the international law as an occupation forece and thuse it must provide Gaza with all of its needs, my buddy!

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 21, 2010 at 1:47 pm

Thank you Annie. I wish you reflect the real picture of the Palestinains. It's too hard to tell someone the truth that he or she had been prevented from seeing in the media. We all love you Annie,, thank you very mush for your support and soladirty. You are welcome whenever you like to visist Gaza. Next time, I wish you be here while Palestine is free and people get all rights.

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 21, 2010 at 12:55 pm

Gaza is the source of that inspiration. Palestine will be free for sure. Thanks.

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 21, 2010 at 12:54 pm

We don't care about the policy of the US governemnt, what we look for is the policy of the US people, who, for sure, refuse the US blind support to Israel. We believe in all freedom fighters in this world to change this policy by their efforts they spend for Palestine and all people who live under the occupation.

    • Your words give me a glimpse of hope despite the misrable reality. What I am sure about is that we will live in love and peace oneday. Thanks dude.

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 21, 2010 at 12:49 pm

You are right Chu, change takes much time. It's a great thing to believe in change. We heard much from Obama, but we feel like he is powerless. We want to live in Peace and Love as all people.

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 21, 2010 at 11:49 am

It's the Holocaust itself! I invite you to read the Ethin Cleansing of Palestine and the Palestinian Holocaust, American perspectives.

    • Yousef M. Aljamal July 21, 2010 at 11:48 am

To forgive someone kills you is a great thing. But what we need is to stop killing as it's better than forgiving someone after he or she turns your life to a hell-like life. Thanks for your comment.

    • You forget about the article and start talking about the picture? this shows that you are very weak. I got this picture from the internet, but I saw by my own eyes tens of people who were seperated into very small peieces as the F16 planes bombed them. Seems that you forget to talk about this issue! and you are just interedted in sub-things!.

    • Thank you everybody for your comments. What I wanted from writing this article is to show for the rest of the world ,who have been decived by the Israeli media, the truth in Gaza. These stories are not the whole story, still there are thousands of stories are not published and I wish to publish all of them oneday. I wrote this piece and I have no mean to for hating Jews, I have no problem with anyone in this world, but the problem is with those who kill my innocent people and besiege them. The one who told me about this website to publish this article is A JEW. Yeah, and this is an evidance shows that the Palestinians have no problem with Jews. For those who tried to defame the picture of my people , I feel sorry for you as you are still decieved by the Israeli probaganda. I invite you to visist Gaza and see these things by your owns green or blue eyes. Thanks again.
