Please get back on topic. And slagbom, it´s not a bad advice. Look in the archives and come back if you feel that your issues have not been dealt with.
I truly hope that Israel will not try to deflect by doing some even crazier thing. Like starting a war with Iran.
Or that after a week or everything will go back to normal.
In my country Sweden, there have already been several mp:s who has said, that this will not stand. There will be severe consequences. So far nothing from the sitting government.
Yonira. Try do read VR:s post with an open mind. You answer suggests that you did not understand what he was trying to say, Your argument about the evilness of the stone-throwing palestinians are weak in the light of the occupation. I am sure you would agree on this if we were talking about other places.
Fanon- The Wretched of the Earth. Everyone here should read it. I am sure a lot of you already have read it.
When I read what the french used to say about the algerians I see the palestinians. When I read what the brittish used to say about Mao Mao. I see the palestinians. Nothing new under the sun, so to speak. Resistance is terrorism. The natives only understand violence. They are primitive. We can not talk to them. They can not be trusted. Enough with the occupiers logic already. It´s sickening.
Suggestion for another post. I know i should do it myself but my bad english really bothers me. What would have happened if the palestinians did not put up a fight. A little speculation of course. Does anyone really believe that their lives would have been better? No murder? No stealing of land? No occupation? Maybe a pro-zionist can write about it.
If the mandelas and tutus can´t convince you, how about the architect of apartheid. "Israel, like South Africa, is an apartheid state". And that was 1961, the golden years.
I think it has taken a lot of effort to put the aprtheid word out there regarding the relation between palestinians and jews. Switching now will throw all that work away. So what if it makes pro-israelis feel uneasy? They will never accept anything that will make them look bad. Of course its not perfect but since a lot of people that have experienced apartheid agrees, why confuse us and call it hafrada?
I agree, this episode has very little to do say about the palestinian people. Although it is of course offensive to completely ignore the larger issue, it also may be say something about the bubble many Israelis seem to live in.
Judging by this thread alone, the kind of treatment Yonira and his/her likes gets seems unfair and overly aggressive. (I am saying this simply because it might scare new visitors off, and it can be used to show zionists as victims) Yonira does have som valid points about the simpsons episode. It was mostly making fun of Israeli jews, (but no jokes about what they have done and still do to the palestinians).
Yesterday on the news - a old chiefeditor for a danish newspaper called politiken (the politics) said in an interview that he worked as a israeli spies for two decades.
Over the years I have read a lot about these kind of connections here in scandinavia. Like in a newspaper called the Gothenburg post, a journalist who wrote about the middleeast (based on secondary sources, MEMRI and stuff) one day decided to aktually go there and look for himself. His reporting after that experience became much more israelnegative and he got transfered. Flemming Rose, the publisher of the Muhammedcartoons is supposed to have been jewish. Many of the jorunalists who write about middleeast here have jewish descent (I dont know any arab who writes about the middleast for a major newspaper)
But to be fair, atleast in sweden there is one major leftleaning newspaper where you can get more pro-arab-palestinian coverage. Lucky for them they let one of swedens most famous authors, write most of those articles so the antisemitesmear dont stick.
But I dont think its unfair. Its a matter of who owns what and connections.
Great post. This site keeps getting better and better.

They keep coming up with new shit. And if UNIX if is any indication, there is no hope for the palestinians.

You guys who have memories that go back longer then a week could maybe remind Julian how the soldiers who came out with name and all were treated.
