Anti-Zionist dozens

This is called “Yo Mama So Zionist.” People have been passing it around. I understand why, too. Another landmark in the American breakup with Zionism? It’s rare to hear such a frank discussion of the special relationship between two men at this level. Thanks to Max, Idrees and Annie.

Yo Mama So Zionist she thinks Phil and Adam have been brainwashed by Rachel Corries’s parents and confuses their blog with the NYT.

Funny but really nothing to do with Zionism.

XtraNormal is great. I gave it a try with Liberty and Justice for All in November of last year. Israel/Palestine comes into play about half way through the 3 and a half minute video.

yes on dense. but i think it’s the form. should have had more arc

      • PeaceThroughJustice on July 22, 2012, 9:45 pm

        “should have had more arc”

Because the complexity of the issue demands a more extended treatment?

(Didn’t you watch it through to the end?)

Seven thousand views thus far…let’s see if it gets any traction, i find it funny and stupid.

    • strangefriend on July 23, 2012, 8:19 pm

It could also be tagged as racist, since the black character says ‘nigger’ several times.
But the lead up is also kind of stupid. Obama & George W. are outside the White House, chilling, when they somehow get into a dozens contest over Zionism. Uh . . . yeah.
It would have been funnier if the two characters were, say, Woody Allen & Jon Stewart.

  12. CloakAndDagger on July 22, 2012, 11:31 pm

    Definitely a milestone.

Another evidence of how the Internet is crumbling the walls of filtered messaging built by the lobby-controlled MSM. The hasbara denizens are vastly outnumbered at this point and are no longer able to suppress us. The dyke is about to break and they don’t have enough fingers.

Sometime in the future we will look back at the surge of alternative media on the Internet as the turning point in the battle against Israel’s control of the US.

    • Daniel Rich on July 23, 2012, 4:40 am

      @ CloakjAndDagger,

Q: The dyke is about to break and they don’t have enough fingers.

  14. Karin on July 23, 2012, 6:03 am

That made me laugh. And not totally off-topic if we are talking about a shift in the culture and what has become acceptable to talk about and write about, but has anybody read the recently published graphic novel by Harvey Pekar “Not the Israel My Parents Promised Me”? I’d love to hear Phil’s take on it.

  15. gingershot on July 23, 2012, 7:51 am

Lightens up the revolution – lots of zinger inside stuff for us band of brothers

It’s the antithesis of the war the hasbara teams want us to fight – getting bogged down in arguing the hasbara teams on their confusion over what the meaning of ‘is’ is or carefully trying explain the obvious while watching them laugh because they’ve already ‘won’ the argument by muddying up the waters

    Internet kills Israeli PR!

    • FreddyV on July 23, 2012, 9:08 am

@Gingershot: Yup, it’s called ‘Pilpul’ and has been discussed on this site a number of times.

The way the game is played is that one guy says the grass is pink or the sky is green and takes his opponent through a labyrinth of horseshit, false information or partial facts until his opponent cannot counter or becomes so perplexed that the guy who made the statement, however false it is, wins. We know the grass is green and the sky is blue, but it doesn’t matter, it’s all about winning the argument and the facts are immaterial.

There’s far too much pilpul and not enough of the Dozens here. Notice Oleg only made a brief one liner, saying he didn’t get it, then cut and run.

      • gingershot on July 23, 2012, 1:32 pm

thanks – never hear of it before/missed those earlier posts. I had to google ‘pilpul’ and there is an excellent description and history of it in an Huffington Post article – here’s a few choice paragraphs.

What this means for contemporary Jewish discourse is critical: Even though many contemporary Jews are not observant, pilpul continues to be deployed. Pilpul occurs any time the speaker is committed to “prove” his point regardless of the evidence in front of him. The casuistic aspect of this hair-splitting leads to a labyrinthine form of argument where the speaker blows enough rhetorical smoke to make his interlocutor submit. Reason is not an issue when pilpul takes over: what counts is the establishment of a fixed, immutable point that can never truly be disputed.

In this context, the Law is not primary; it is the status of the jurist. Justice is extra-legal, thus denying social equality under the rubric of a horizontal system. Law is in the hands of the privileged rather than the mass.

What is thought to be the Jewish “genius” is often a mark of how pilpul is deployed. The rhetorical tricks of pilpul make true rational discussion impossible; any “discussion” is about trying to “prove” a point that has already been established. There is little use trying to argue in this context, because any points being made will be twisted and turned to validate the already-fixed position.

“Notice Oleg only made a brief one liner, saying he didn’t get it, then cut and run.”

Can’t wait for the really clever ones to come back with “yo Momma so anti-Zionist, she’s a poopy-head!” You know, devastating stuff like that.

“ymsz, she thinks Latma does.” Hilarious. Thanks.

    • gingershot on July 23, 2012, 1:49 pm

I always think of Caroline Glick cackling away with her LATMA ‘We Con the World’ video satirizing the Mavi Marmara while the Israeli Turkish alliance was getting flushed down the toilet – an Israeli strategic debacle of historic porportion

I wonder if deranged Ms Glick has every thought twice about it if that all was worth it

      • ritzl on July 23, 2012, 5:28 pm

Yup, not even blinkered by her hatred, just blinded by it.

  17. Mooser on July 23, 2012, 12:39 pm

So does anybody think we need new words now, or just different reactions to the old ones? And just think, soon the word “Jew” will take on new, more equivocal meanings. Thank you Zionists, thank you so much! Remember, tons more people know the word “Jew” than know the word “Zionist”.

    • YoungMassJew on July 23, 2012, 2:34 pm

Yes Mooser, that’s a good point you make.

      • Mooser on July 23, 2012, 3:32 pm

“Yes Mooser, that’s a good point you make.”

YMJ, if you are going to make nasty accusations like that, you better have some evidence to back it up. As Talleyrand says: “I beg you to observe, gentleman, I neither blame nor approve; I relate.” (No one could say “;” like old Talley). Or maybe it was Sally Rand, but behind all those sequins and feathers, who can tell?
