Israeli minister: Google decision to recognize Palestine ‘pushes peace further away’

The Israeli government has responded to Google’s decision to recognize Palestine. From Reuters:

Following the U.N. lead, Google’s Palestinian homepage and other products previously labelled “Palestinian Territories” were changed on May 1 to read “Palestine”.

“I think that the Google decision from the last few days is very, very problematic,” said Deputy Israeli Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin, a confidant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“When a company like Google comes along and supports this line, it actually pushes peace further away, pushes away negotiations, and creates among the Palestinian leadership the illusion that in this manner they can achieve the result,” he told Israel’s Army Radio.

How disappointing – with Israel about to withdraw to the 67 borders, evacuate the settlements and pay every refugee a final settlement of 2 million dollars each – Google has come along and wrecked it all!

No excuse is too small or ridiculous to make Zio-supremacists cry “victim” even as they and their supremacist “Jewish State” continue to oppress, terrorize, steal, colonize, destroy, kill and hate.

Isn’t it amazing how the closer we get to a possible Palestinian state – which Israel claims it supports – the more disgruntled Israel gets.

    • Mndwss on May 6, 2013, 12:49 pm

What is amazing is that the whole world is not boycotting Israel.

The whole world understands that the little mafia state wants it all…

The big mafia state has surrendered to fleas.

      Big fleas have little fleas,
Upon their backs to bite ’em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas,
      and so, ad infinitum.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Siphonaptera

I do not understand why the rest of the world has surrendered to a USA that has a little flea that controls its host.

      • shachalnur on May 6, 2013, 5:03 pm

This is really what Mndwss thinks is going on?

        Israel controls the US?
        Sounds like a conspiracy theory.

Yes, US is controlled, but not by “Israel” or “the Jews”.

“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize”,. Voltaire.

Try to read “They dare not speak it’s name” by David Icke.
        “who rules”,for beginners

It might shed some light on who’s in charge, and what “The Jews” or “Israel” have to do with this.

        But only if you dare.

      • Cliff on May 6, 2013, 5:32 pm

It only sounds like a conspiracy theory by Zionist Jews and their supporters, because slandering things left and right as ‘antisemitic’ is easy, requires no evidence, etc.

The USA is an empire. There is no singular ‘American’ identity or homogenous in a strict (and only) sense.

      • annie on May 6, 2013, 5:56 pm

i read it as a tail wagging the dog sentiment. albeit, it was directed at a govenment, county..israel. shach, why are you using quotemarks around “the jews”,not once but twice? quote marks are generally only used when you’re quoting someone.

      • Daniel Rich on May 6, 2013, 6:05 pm

        @ Annie Robbins,

Q: quote marks are generally only used when you’re quoting someone.

R: Don’t be too harsh on hasbara central now, dear, they’ve had to go into overdrive after violating international law for the zillions’ time … [I would have added ‘they’re only human,’ but based on the verifiable evidence, I simply can’t].

      • shachalnur on May 6, 2013, 6:28 pm

        To Annie,

I’m using quotation marks as in ‘Israel rules the world’ and ‘The Jews rule the world’.

Both statements are gaining popularity, like before ww2.
        With known consequences.

Anybody stating “Israel” or ‘The jews’ as the cause of all evil ,are just as misinformed and ignorant as people before ww2.

For what’s really going on I recommend the piece by David Icke,or Alan Hart’s trilogy”Zionism ,the real enemy of the Jews”.

About Daniel Rich; I know this line of thought is not very popular in Hasbara circles,so no arguments from him, only ad hominem.

      • lysias on May 6, 2013, 6:46 pm

If you actually believe Icke’s outlandish claim that the real rulers of the world are lizards disguised as people, you should seek medical help.

Now, as a metaphor for what’s really going on, Icke’s idea isn’t that bad.

I quite liked the movie They Live!.

shachalnur says: “Israel controls the US? Sounds like a conspiracy theory.”

If that was really the case Netanyahu would get more standing ovations in the US congress than Obama.

      • Shingo on May 6, 2013, 7:37 pm

        Israel controls the US?
        Sounds like a conspiracy theory.

You sound like you have an agenda.

Yes, US is controlled, but not by “Israel” or “the Jews”.

Yeah right. Netenyahu just happened to get more standing ovations from Congress than Ronald Regan would get if he was resurrected from the grave.

Try to read “They dare not speak it’s name” by David Icke.

Isn’t he the guy who believed the world is ruled by giant lizards?

      • seafoid on May 7, 2013, 3:59 am

The US administration is vulnerable to infiltration by well organized cults – the Scientologists are as effective as the bots . They also prefer fantaticism, lawsuits and hysteria to keep the status quo going.

      • Sumud on May 7, 2013, 8:47 am

“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize”,. Voltaire.

Gee I wonder why Americans are stupider [correction: less informed] than everybody else in the world about the reality in Palestine and Israel. Could it be because corporate media in the US consistently lies to everyone and hardly ever reports accurately on the situation?

Applying Voltaire’s theory, which presumably you quote in agreement, Israel rules the US. While I wouldn’t go that far…

      • Shingo on May 8, 2013, 6:12 am

Both statements are gaining popularity, like before ww2.

It’s a consequence of the sycophancy of Congress and the fear political leaders have of confronting Israel.

It goes to show that Israel had turned out to be bad for the Jews, because Jews are being blamed for Israel’s criminality and sadism.

  4. Justpassingby on May 6, 2013, 11:33 am

So 80% of the world population have recognized Palestine.
    Israel have not.
    But Google is the problem.
    Delusional.

    • Les on May 6, 2013, 5:25 pm

The US can hardly recognize Palestine while it donates taxpayer dollars to fund each and every one of Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians.

  5. Tzombo on May 6, 2013, 11:34 am

How ridiculous can you get? The moment is not far away when journalists start laughing to their faces when they come up with crap like this.

  6. W.Jones on May 6, 2013, 11:56 am

    Thanks for the yuks.

  7. seafoid on May 6, 2013, 11:57 am

The minister is another bot thug. Like some child abuser telling the authorities to back off.
All Google cares about is money. Palestinians are potential consumers even though Israel sees them as barely human.

  8. Daniel Rich on May 6, 2013, 12:05 pm

Israeli Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin is hereby invited to join the next round of World Series of Poker, so we’ll be able to study his face.

Whut? No accusations of anti-semitism(tm)? Am I reading that correctly? I’ll be…

  10. pabelmont on May 6, 2013, 12:59 pm

This is funny. Google is now preventing the otherwise achievable peace. Google acting alone prevents Israel from doing what it should have done years ago.

It is similar to how delivery of fancy rockets for Hezbollah is a danger for Israel by making war less likely — less likely because Hezb would be able to strike back painfully in the event of Israel’s next (scheduled?) aggression against Lebanon. Curiously, whatever rockets Hezb already has have not been fired at Israel in anger (at strikes on Syria for example). Assuming some fancy rockets have been delivered, or will be, th’m durn rockets alone may prevent Israel from doing what it should not do — and should not have done with apparent belief in its immunity and impunity in past years.

  11. shachalnur on May 6, 2013, 1:31 pm

    Nathan Tyler,spokesman for Google said today on the change to “Palestine”;

“Google consults with various sources and authorities when naming countries”

    That begs the question;

What “sources” and “authorities” is he talking about?

    The Board of Directors?
    And who are they?

  12. gingershot on May 6, 2013, 2:53 pm

Zionists just have no shame whatsoever, but I find one of the things they hate most is just laughing at them for the ridiculous if toxic buffoons they are.

Somehow it all makes sense – they LIKE getting away with it but their feelings sure get hurt when people are laughing at them for being the suckers they actually are

    • libra on May 6, 2013, 5:57 pm

gingershot: Somehow it all makes sense – they LIKE getting away with it but their feelings sure get hurt when people are laughing at them for being the suckers they actually are

Very true but for Israeli Zionists we laugh at them for being freiers .

And for those who like their jokes laced with irony, the really funny thing is that it’s their fear of being seen as freiers that actually makes them freiers. After all, stealing the Palestinians’ land – because only a freier wouldn’t – is the one certain way to end up with a single, democratic state shared with the Palestinians as equals.

      • gingershot on May 7, 2013, 9:19 am

        “because only a freier wouldn’t”

        – exactly – it’s their own permanently glued on pair of little red dancing shoes

    • on May 7, 2013, 9:45 am

That’s a true sign of psychopathy. Psychopaths are quite adamant and proud in their delirium. And they even have principles if you can believe that.

  13. Les on May 6, 2013, 5:20 pm

How dare Google deny Israel the piece of Palestine it demands on behalf of justice minded zionists!

  14. Daniel Rich on May 6, 2013, 6:22 pm

So, now the founders of google will be deemed ‘self-hating?’ [link]

  15. John Douglas on May 6, 2013, 6:37 pm

“ Deputy Israeli Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin, a confidant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu” thinks this is “unfortunate”, why? Because it, “creates among the Palestinian leadership the illusion that in this manner they can achieve the result.” They are wrong to believe that there can be a Palestine? And in what manner is he speaking about? Did the Palestinians, with their immense, world-wide money and political influence pressure Google to recognize the obvious?

  16. Talkback on May 6, 2013, 7:25 pm

“…pushes peace further away pushes away negotiations, and creates among the Palestinian leadership the illusion that in this manner they can achieve the result, …”

How peaceful it would be if the Palestinians would still have the illusion that negotiations with the Jebotinsky leadership would lead to anything more than Bantustans.

  17. radii on May 6, 2013, 10:38 pm

ha-ha israel, Google put a big monkey-wrench in your campaign to control the narrative … and now Google (which is supra-national) reflects how most of the world already sees things … and Google is run by two jews! … rich indeed

  18. amigo on May 7, 2013, 8:33 am

Does the inclusion of the Occupied Syrian Heights by Google bother the minister.

Zionist hypocrisy, like Israel, has no borders.

I frequent a forum that has a hasbara who is always quick to post on any topic involving Israel aka Palestine. When this story broke he was quick to write words to the effect that it was no big deal, meanlingless, etc. Apparently those higher up the Zio-chain thought otherwise.
