I’d be hard pressed to remember a media fail as large as this. Watch the beginning of the video above. ABC World News anchor Diane Sawyer begins a segment on the Israeli attack on Gaza by showing two photos of Palestinians in the aftermath of Israeli bombing but says the first picture is of Israelis who have been bombed. Wow.

Overseas now to the rockets raining down on Israel today. As Israel tried to shoot them out of the sky.
All part of a tinder box Israelis and Palestinians and here an Israeli family trying to salvage what they can. One woman standing speechless among the ruins.
It’s unclear to me whether she’s saying both photos are of Israelis, but my guess is that she was attempting to show losses on both sides. Oops.
She says the first photo is an “Israeli family trying to salvage what they can” when in reality the photo is from Gaza City:

If the networks and NYT/WaPO are the first drafts of history,what do we actually know about past events? abot the good, the bad, and the ugly?
Mistakes of this sort – mislabeling and the like happen in a newsroom – but way too often in US ones, when it comes to Israel and how Palestinians are depicted. I’d say it’s probably in direct proportion to the amount of ziocaine the producers and staff imbibe.
She’s just another willing hasbara tool the American media is packed with. Not only the obviously mislabeled pics but framing the crisis by saying it’s “in part” due to the kidnapping of the 3 murdered Israeli teens and revenge killing of a palestine teen. I bet she does not know of the video showing the two Palestinian teens being shot by IDF on the streets, just for walking with school backpacks. Last Nakba remembrance day is too far back for this “cycle of violence”? Always interesting where, when, by whom the latest cycle “started it.”
