Dershowitz story is also an Israel story

on 308 Comments

As you surely know, Alan Dershowitz, a leading advocate for Israel, was named in a filing in a sex abuse suit in Florida court last week. The matter is gaining international attention because of Dershowitz’s reputation (and that of the British royal also named), and in a few cases folks are bringing in the pro-Israel angle, including Dershowitz himself.

The New York Times put Dershowitz’s name in its headline. Dershowitz emphatically denied the allegation that he had sex with a “sex slave” of his client Jeffrey Epstein.

“[The lawyers who named him] are lying deliberately, and I will not stop until they’re disbarred,” Mr. Dershowitz said in a phone interview.

The BBC reports that Dershowitz has now fought back in court:

Mr Dershowitz filed papers at a court in Florida, where the case is being heard, to contest what he described as “absolutely outrageous claims”.

The former Harvard law professor has asked for his name to be removed from documents which accuse him and Prince Andrew of having sexual relations with Virginia Roberts, known in court as Jane Doe #3, who was under the age of consent in the US at the time of the alleged incidents.

In his submission to the court, Mr Dershowitz said he had been a victim of “salacious and scurrilous” allegations and wanted to take action to protect his reputation…

Mr Dershowitz told the Reuters news agency: “We file a sworn declaration categorically denying the charges and proving by records and other travel documents that I could not have been in the places that she says that she had sex with me.

“We file a motion to intervene in the court and then we file a defamation action against the two lawyers and the woman. And then we file disbarment proceedings against the two lawyers.”

The lawyers for Jane Doe #3, who has identified herself in the past as Virginia Roberts, have released their own statement saying that Dershowitz avoided their efforts to depose him. Say Paul Cassell and Brad Edwards:

“We carefully investigate all of the allegations in our pleadings before presenting them. We have also tried to depose Mr. Dershowitz on these subjects, although he has avoided those deposition requests. Nevertheless, we would be pleased to consider any sworn testimony and documentary evidence Mr. Dershowitz would like to provide which he contends would refute any of our allegations.”

The Israel angle. At the Jerusalem Post, Dershowitz is quoted saying that anti-Semites and anti-Israel “zealots” are having a field day.

Beyond the damage to his reputation, Dershowitz bemoaned the fact that he was “beginning to get all kinds of emails [from] anti-Israel and anti-Semitic groups, the most recent one saying ‘see Jews have always been in charge of the sex trade.’”

“The anti-Semites are crawling out from under their rocks, they are loving this. And the anti-Israel zealots are loving this” as well, he said. “I’m not only defending myself here but I am defending other values as well. I am defending the values that I have represented and stood for, for so many years.”

Trita Parsi mocked this defense:

At The New York Observer, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach is concerned that Dershowitz is being “abandoned” by the Jewish community.

Here is a man of sterling character who has been a champion of the Jewish people and Israel his entire life. He is America’s best-known defender of Israel….

Have we Jews not forgotten what we have traditionally been accused of? Killing God. Drinking the blood of Christian children.

Max Blumenthal justly raised an eyebrow over this defense. Blumenthal also notes that Dershowitz is to receive the “Defender of Israel” award next month at a Times of Israel gala in New York that features Shimon Peres, Robert Kraft, NBA forward Omri Casspi, and model Bar Refaeli.

At Above the Law, Tamara Tabo says the allegations against Dershowitz “should be taken seriously, even by those of us who are more and more cautious about high-profile sex crime accusations.”

There are a few reasons to think that this is not the sort of sex crime claim conservative pundits (myself included) warned you about.

1. The people who made the allegations public appear credible….

She notes that one of the attorneys who named Dershowitz is a former US District Judge and a former Supreme Court clerk and assistant U.S. attorney who has argued a child pornography case before the Supreme Court. The other is also no “amateur,” she points out. As for the plaintiff who says she was forced to have sex by Dershowitz’s former client, financier Jeffrey Epstein, Tabo says:

Jane Doe #3 is Virginia Roberts, a young woman who has since 2007 spoken publicly about her supposed years of sex slavery. While the formal allegations in court last week are terse, Roberts has given vivid accounts of how Epstein allegedly forced her into sexual encounters

The NY Times also quoted a statement from Jane Doe #3:

“I’m not going to be bullied back into silence,” she said in the statement.

Update: More litigation in the case. A defamation suit against Dershowitz.

    I screamed with laughter at Boteach’s editorial…

What are these people doing by circling the wagons around a potential pedophile?

It has nothing to do with Israel.

    Or does it?

“What are these people doing by circling the wagons around a potential pedophile?”

This isn’t the first time in the last few years.

I am not sure that it has nothing to do with Israel. Look at the list of potential blackmail targets from Epstein’s black book. They were all in a position to help Israel. Even Mick Jagger refused to cancel his concert there. Arm twisting after some illicit kiddy sex?

      • oldgeezer on January 7, 2015, 12:43 am

There’s no evidence (yet) that the state was behind it. That may, or may not, come at some future point in time. Certainly honey trap operations are a tool of the trade but it’s a stretch to point fingers yet. Leave it to the insane zionists to make the connection at this point in time.

        Just speculating. It’s kinda fun.

      • oldgeezer on January 7, 2015, 12:55 am

Yeah it is. It’s also fun to see those who support a regime that’s perpetrated such massive crimes over the past half century rally around him without realizing the ramifications of hitching their personal wagon and that of the state to such an odious individual.

Let them sink their own ship hehe

The last part of this sentence is really worded strangely to me. Isn’t this woman saying he had sex with her? He almost words it like he’s some kind of chick magnet, like the David Lee Roth of legaldom. Yuck. Either that or he couldn’t resist how crazy it sounds saying someone claimed to have had sex with him (like they wanted to? eeeeek).

Or maybe I should have said Mick Jagger…

Are you really going to deny that the anti-Israel community is exploiting this ridiculous story? Your first post on it set a record for comments, most of them fact free. You’re doing violence to your cause by dragging it through the mud like this, and I think you know very well how weak this all is. Got nothing to do with Jews or with Israel. But from the viewpoint of anti-Israel (or in some cases, in many cases I hope, pro-Palestine) folks, this is too good to be true, The Dersh being what he is and all. And it fits in so well with all the sex scandals among the high-and-mighty in Israel.

@hophmi I think the furor is very specifically channeling the rage people feel (and I count myself as one of them) that a level 3 sex offender (the highest level, I believe) received only an 18 month sentence, with no recommendations for treatment and who was charged only with a misdemeanor offense. Also, as I understand it, very specific steps were taken to shield this information from the victims who had no opportunity to testify, to the harm done them or have that harm considered in the sentencing process.

Articles targeting the pressure that was exerted on prosecutors, victims and their families – if accurate, only compounds the perception that the recipients of the abuse were revictimized by the legal process itself.

This would appear to be a devastating criticism of the US justice system. The attorneys for
the victims would appear to be attempting to rectify the situation.

    • traintosiberia on January 7, 2015, 11:47 pm

Derschowitz has defended himself against this allegation by insinuating charges of antisemitism,Antizionist, and anti Israelism . Boteach has basically offered same petectives .The accusation of potential antisemitism is at play ,has been mooted and parroted by these two guys .
They brought the Jewishness in this sordid affairs . Not The girls nor the lawyers brought it .
Dershowitz is known as a defender of Israel and has made a mark by practicing this over the years . So it is naturaleople would refer to him as staunch Israeli supporter . Boteach is known for being a rabbi who also claims moral authority . So it is natural that people would notice if he tries to defend an immoral action . People would also take notice if they see that Boteach is defending the immoral action of another Jew when he himself is a Jew and his defense is not supported with any knowledge of the events but is based on the existence of the past activities for the Jewish causes .

Oh that’s rich. You don’t see the hyperbole in Dershowitz’ “champion of Israel” label andtrying to turn this into an anti-Israel, anti-zionist and the omnipresent antisemitic conspiracy instead of what it is, allegations of sex with a minor? Are you part of the little group, ala Schmoooleee, who sheds crocodile tears and wails that Jews don’t do this kind of thing, they just don’t but if they do, it wasn’t their fault. It’s just an anti-Israel, antisemitic plot against them, a blood libel, just like killing Jesus, so therefore they are innocent? Why couldn’t you call out Schmoolee for his bullsheet instead of running to the defense of Dershowitz?

Sydney Morning Herald: Bill Clinton drawn into Prince Andrew sex scandal:

Washington: Former US president Bill Clinton has been drawn into the scandal surrounding Virginia Roberts’ allegations she was instructed to have sex with Prince Andrew by American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Court documents show Mr Clinton was one of many high-profile friends of Epstein to visit his private island and fly on his jet, and that Epstein’s phone directory showed he had 21 phone numbers for Mr Clinton or his aides.

The documents suggest no wrong-doing on Mr Clinton’s behalf, but they have set off speculation – particularly on the part of conservative online media – about the potential impact of the scandal on Hillary Clinton’s presumed run for the White House.

“Bubba and the Palm Beach Pedophile” screams a headline on the Drudge Report, the conservative blog made famous by its Monica Lewinsky scandal revelations, in a headline today.

“The [flight logs] clearly show that Clinton frequently flew with Epstein aboard his plane, then suddenly stopped – raising the suspicion that the friendship abruptly ended, perhaps because of events related to Epstein’s sexual abuse of children,” says a statement lodged by Ms Roberts’ lawyer in a civil case.

“This information certainly leads one to believe that Clinton might well be a source of relevant information and efforts to obtain discovery from him were reasonably calculated to lead to admissible evidence,” it went on.

In an interview with the Daily Mail in 2011, Ms Roberts, who was 17 when she met Epstein and claims she became his “sex slave”, describes meeting Mr Clinton while with Epstein, but says she was never “lent out” to him, as she says she was to Prince Andrew.

  6. CloakAndDagger on January 6, 2015, 7:20 pm

    @ lysias

Your post in the previous dershbag thread about the death last week of Epstein’s housekeeper raises eyebrows! That was awfully convenient murder by natural causes when his testimony would have been invaluable. Was it natural causes?

EXCLUSIVE: Houseman who cleaned pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s sex toys and feared he would make him ‘disappear’ takes billionaire’s secrets to the grave after he died just last week:

DailyMail.com revealed that Rodriguez kept a black book of Epstein’s contacts — which he referred to as ‘The Holy Grail.’ or ‘Golden Nugget.’ The dozens of entries included contact details for A-list names including former President Bill Clinton, Mick Jagger, Donald Trump, Earl Spencer, Barbara Walters, Henry Kissinger and at least three members of the Kennedy clan.

If this Daily Mail report was the source for the New York Daily News story, it’s worth pointing out that Tony Blair’s name is now missing.

    An update on this story:

“U. professor Paul Cassell fires back at Alan Dershowitz, files defamation suit | Deseret News” http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865619052/U-professor-Paul-Cassell-fires-back-at-Alan-Dershowitz-files-defamation-suit.html?pg=all

    BEGIN EXCERPTS
A day after famed attorney Alan Dershowitz went on national TV calling for the disbarment of University of Utah law professor and former federal Judge Paul Cassell, Cassell and his co-counsel have countered with a defamation lawsuit.

On Tuesday, Cassell and Florida attorney Brad Edwards filed a defamation lawsuit in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Broward County, Florida, claiming Dershowitz engaged in “character assassination” against them in national media interviews, and acted in “willful, wanton, reckless, and intentional disregard” of the two attorneys.”

The suit by Cassell and Edwards calls Dershowitz’s TV appearances a “massive public media assault on the reputation and character” of the two attorneys. In their suit, the attorneys say Dershowitz spoke “without ever conducting any investigation of the credibility of the accusations, and of having acted unethically to the extent that their willful misconduct warranted and required disbarment.” The attorneys contend that Dershowitz’s statements “were false and known by him to be false at the time they were made.”

“Alternatively, Dershowitz made the statements in reckless disregard of their truth or falsity, intending that the statements would provide support for Dershowitz’s false protestations of his own innocence and direct attention away from Dershowitz’s personal knowledge of and involvement in Epstein’s criminal conduct and the subsequent coverup of that misconduct. Dershowitz’s statements were and are defamatory per se directly attacking the fitness of the plaintiffs to engage in the honored profession of the practice of law,” the two attorneys wrote.

Cassell released a statement from Jane Doe No. 3 on Monday that said she is “looking forward to vindicating my rights as an innocent victim and pursuing all available recourse. It appears that I am now being unjustly victimized again. These types of aggressive attacks on me are exactly the reason why sexual abuse victims typically remain silent and the reason why I did for a long time. That trend should change. I’m not going to be bullied back into silence.”
    END EXCERPTS

Alan Dershowitz may have made his situation much worse by savagely attacking Paul Cassell, Brad Edwards and Virginia Roberts.

And he and Shmuley Boteach have managed to drag Israel and “the Jewish people” right into the middle of this mess, in association with Jeffrey Epstein.

What Israeli and Jewish values were exhibited by Jeffrey Epstein’s honey-trap operation, which lured in some of the most powerful leaders in the Western world?

Questions are now being raised about Dershowitz’s possible role in tampering with and intimidating witnesses in the Epstein case:

“Prince Andrew’s friend Jeffrey Epstein ‘used aggressive witness tampering to prevent truth coming out'” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/theroyalfamily/11326535/Prince-Andrews-friend-Jeffrey-Epstein-used-aggressive-witness-tampering-to-prevent-truth-coming-out.html

“This gives me a weapon that I didn’t previously have, and the weapon is the power of deposition,” Dershowitz said. “I can now subpoena them, put them under oath, subject them to cross-examination, and prosecute them for perjury if they lie.”

You, mon ami are just the guy to reassure him, and explain that, 1) there isn’t anything anti-Israel big enough to be, in any sense of the word, a “community” and 2) even if there was, the “Jewish establishment” and “the major Jewish organizations” would crush it, toot quick!
He seems worried about this “anti-Israel community” (in re Dershowitz’s imbroglio) and I wish you would re-assure him, that this is nothing the Jewish establishment can’t handle.

    • bilal a on January 7, 2015, 7:08 am

Unfortunately this lawsuit echoes ‘age old anti Semitic canards’ . It is essentilly about a conspiracy to cover up and forgo prosecution of the traficking of Gentile women by
wealthy Jewish men ( so called white slavery) committed by Israeli lobby members inside the federal government

“Defendant, ALAN M. DERSHOWITZ, was one of a very large team of lawyers
involved in defending Jeffrey Epstein during his criminal investigation, and according to
DERSHOWITZ’S own public statements, DERSHOWITZ was responsible for negotiating
Epstein’s secret deal with the federal government which afforded protection not only to Epstein but to various of his associates as well.”

      http://images.politico.com/global/2015/01/06/edwardscasselldershcomplaint.pdf

Josh Gerstein repeated the Dershowtiz defamation charges in politico., claiming that Clinton was never on Epstein’s private island, despite public evidence elsewhere. It is not clear if Gerstein is part of the ‘various associates’ of Epstein protected by the federal court order.

“Jane Does No. 1 and No. 2, who were, respectively, 12 and 13 at the time they were victimized, received confidential monetary settlements in civil cases.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office failed to notify victims prior to striking a non-prosecution agreement with Epstein on Sept. 24, 2007, and didn’t tell them of the agreement’s existence for at least nine months, the ruling says.

On June 27, 2008, the U.S. Attorney’s Office told the victims that Epstein planned to plead guilty to state charges three days later. But federal prosecutors failed to disclose that his pleas to the state charges arose from his federal non-prosecution agreement and would bar federal charges.

“A well-connected billionaire got away with molesting many girls,” Edwards said. “These girls should at least know how and why he was able to get away with these crimes. This ruling will allow us access to the documents that will provide insight into how that happened. I suspect that the answers revealed by these documents will ultimately allow us to invalidate that agreement and permit prosecution of Mr. Epstein.

Ann Coulter summarizes Dershowitiz Ken Starr intimidation of prosecutors by pedophile ring lawyers. Epstein got away with no real jail time:

The prosecutors private’s lives were investigated and according to the U.S. Attorney they were just pressured, jerked around, everything was appealed. Eventually they get Epstein to agree to plead guilty to a state charge, allegedly sentenced to 18 months, in fact it was 13 months and for 16 hours a day he was allowed to go to his mansion in Palm Beach. So he got basically no jail time. He is a registered sex offender.

Eight years her [Ghislaine Maxwell’s ] senior, financier Jeffrey Epstein is as enigmatic a character as Ghislaine’s father, with hints of links to both Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and the CIA. Epstein and Ghislaine were romantically involved – but the wedding she hoped for never materialised.

The non-prosecution agreement apparently dates from Michael Mukasey’s stint as AG in the W administration. I don’t know who was chief of the Criminal Division of DOJ at the time. But the reasoning of the decision was apparently based on an earlier opinion of the Office of Legal Counsel within DOJ.

      • seanmcbride on January 7, 2015, 10:34 am

Isn’t the real scandal here revolving around whatever people engineered the non-prosecution agreement? (Not to mention whatever parties were behind the witness tampering and intimidation?)

If the New York Times and the Washington Post were still real news operations, they would be all over this. But they appear to be part of the same incestuous social/political network that was behind the NPA — they are all circling the wagons.

“Unfortunately this lawsuit echoes ‘age old anti Semitic canards’ . It is essentilly about a conspiracy to cover up and forgo prosecution of the traficking of Gentile women by
        wealthy Jewish men”

So I once thought I heard this story, maybe I read it on Fail-Safe Messiah or something. Anyway there was a corrupt, rich Rabbi who trafficked in women. One day his wife happened on his seraglio, and took him to task for procuring: “How could you do this, you fiend, what gives you the right to traffic in women’s bodies?” The Rabbi, who, unfortunately, happened to be a very evil man, said “Oh, who cares, they’re just Gentiles, and Moslem women”. Then the Rebitsin saw a bunch of frightened, dark-haired girls sobbing and praying in Hebrew in one corner of the room, and said “And what of those girls, Rebinu? Are they Moslem, or Gentile?” The awful man (thank God there are so few like him!) looked at them, spit on the ground and said, ” Them? Reform, and secular, every one!”
Anyway, turned out later he wasn’t a real Rabbi.

Did Holder or Mukasey approve the non prosecution agreement?

      • lysias on January 7, 2015, 2:33 pm

The NPA dates from Mukasey’s tenure as AG, so, if any AG approved it at the time, it would have been Mukasey. On the other hand, the DOJ is continuing to defend the NPA in this litigation, and Holder has been and continues to be — however briefly — AG.

Thanks, CaD — state court documents are not that easy to come by.

Daily Mail keeps saying that Dersh filed defamation suits against Edwards/Cassell in “London and the US.” They don’t say what court. Those DM hacks get confused awfully easily.

As noted above Dersh claims to be happy to be sued b/c it gives him the chance to depose Edwards/Cassell. But if Dersh had filed his own suit, he would already have the chance to depose them.

As for his 11- paragraph declaration in the Jane Does case filed yesterday, here’s a line by line take down — the declaration is pathetic; e.g., he never denies being an eye-witness to Epstein’s pediatric perversions.

      Dissecting Dirty Dersh’s Declaration
      http://logophere.com/Topics/Post%20vids%20and%20docs/Uncle%20Al.pdf

As predicted in the article, now that his sworn statement has gone public and he has his denials out there, Dersh will probably withdraw the motion to intervene in order to prevent Edwards/Cassell from deposing him in that case.

It’s the depositions that will rip this whole thing wide open. That and getting the US attorney’s correspondence related to the non-prosecution agreement.

Dershowitz is probably worrying that if Prince Andrew fails to conduct a scorched earth legal counterattack against Cassell, Edwards and Roberts — to puff himself up with volcanic moral outrage — their collective position of adamant denial is going to look soft and weak.

In fact, Prince Andrew is giving every appearance that he wants this entire controversy to go away immediately and completely — not another word. Dershowitz is busy cooking up a long-running circus for all the world to gawk at. Smart?

Here’s betting that most of the high-level principals in the case who palled around with Epstein, and accepted his favors, simply want Dershowitz to shut the f*ck up — not to stir the pot. Leave sleeping dogs lie.

“In documents revealed Thursday – including a sworn seven-page declaration that Jacobs submitted along with a summary from his attorneys of problems obtaining documents from Sands – Jacobs describes an effort he launched after arriving in Macau in May 2009 to rid the casino floor of “loan sharks and prostitution.”

“This project was met with concern as (company) senior executives informed me that the prior prostitution strategy had been personally approved by Adelson,” Jacobs said in the documents.

In his court filing, Jacobs alleges other documents that haven’t been turned over include records of misuse of “blue card’ work permits and the hiring of illegal workers in Macau; emails and records of Adelson controlling a “Chairman’s Club” allowing favored members, including known or suspected organized crime figures, exclusive access to Sands China’s most luxurious accommodations; and email requests from Adelson to a Macau lawmaker who Jacobs said was hired as outside counsel after Jacobs was fired.”

He has a way of spooking you, does Epstein. Or he did. My babies were born prematurely, dangerously so; he’d asked which hospital I was giving birth at—and I was so afraid that somehow, with all his connections to the academic and medical community, that he was coming for my little ones that I put security on them in the NICU.

This answers my earlier question. Bill Clinton cut off contact with Epstein in 2005.

Anyway, lawyers stumbled across the phone numbers and email addresses for Bill Clinton when they were researching Jeffrey Epstein’s personal records. However, several documents also show that Bill Clinton cut off contact with Jeffrey Epstein in 2005, which means that he probably realized the extent of Jeffrey Epstein’s depravity and realized he had too much to lose. In fact, sources have revealed, “The documents clearly show that Clinton flew with Epstein and then suddenly stopped, raising the suspicion that the friendship abruptly ended, perhaps because of events related to Epstein’s sexual abuse of children.”
2005 was also the same year that Jeffrey Epstein was first arrested for receiving an ‘erotic massage’ from a minor, a.k.a. several young women stepped forward and claimed that Jeffrey Epstein abused them. Whether those particular accusations were accurate or not, enough people came forward about Jeffrey’s general creepiness that Bill Clinton probably had no choice but to cut contacts. Now, if only Prince Andrew could retroactively go back and NOT pay for underage sex, or at least, cut ties with his BFF Jeffrey Epstein. He’s paying the price now, even though Bill Clinton is once again walking away Scot-free.

Epstein stayed on the executive committee of the trilateral commission into the 2008 meeting, and he was a member of the Council of Foreign relations, not sure when he resigned. His qualifications for either appointment eludes me.
It seems less probable to me that any professional foreign intelligence agency would have anything to do with this cat, an out of control nut, indiscreet, pathological and unpredictable. More of a liability than an asset.

The neocons are having a field day with this! Does she realize that she is stabbing a fellow warmonger?

COULTER: JEFFREY EPSTEIN IS EVERYTHING UVA CASE WASN’T

Ann Coulter, columnist and author of “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican” argued that Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crimes were everything the Rolling Stone UVA case was hyped up to be, but ultimately wasn’t on Tuesday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.

“This is the elites getting cozy and covering up and protecting one other” she stated. And “this is not a political case, this is what MSNBC and the rest of networks…what they thought these fraternity rapes were, what they thought the [Duke] lacrosse rape [was]. This is the elites circling the wagons and protecting a pederast, it is a shocking case and that’s just the known facts.”

Coulter then laid out how the case against Epstein transpired, stating that despite “quite strong” evidence against Epstein “the same prosecutor that was going after Rush Limbaugh for back pain medication for two years, wants to give him [Jeffrey Epstein] a little ticket.” This then prompted the Palm Beach police to go to the federal government. When they did, the US Attorney’s office came under “astonishing attacks” from Epstein’s lawyers, which included Ken Starr and Alan Dershowitz, according to Coulter. Eventually, Epstein agreed to plead guilty to a state charge and received a light sentence.

She then reported that some of Epstein’s victims were suing to re-open the case and breach the no prosecution agreement, a process that she stated had been underway since 2008. And “the new news that brings your favorite topic into this, Bill Clinton, is Jane Doe 3 and Jane Doe 4 come forward, and their allegations involve Prince Andrew, one of them, Jane Doe 3, Alan Dershowitz the lawyer, and Bill Clinton, of course,” although she pointed out that these were just allegations, but that it was not a frivolous case.

The prosecutor she refers to is R. Alexander Acosta, who was U.S. Attorney for the South Florida District. In 2011 the Daily Beast published a three-page letter written by Acosta that explains in detail why the Epstein investigation ended as it did with no prosecution in Federal courts. He fails to explain the NPA, however, which is central to the current legal case. He also doesn’t mention, if I recall correctly, whether or not he received advice or instruction from the AG’s office in Washington. The AG was Mukasey, I believe.

BTW, perhaps Coulter is referring to Florida State Attorney Barry Krischer, who was involved in both cases, rather than US attorney Acosta. It’s hard to tell. Both Krischer and Acosta buckled to Epstein’s defense team, which included Dershowitz, Ken Starr, and Roy Black. Black, incidently, was Limbaugh’s lawyer too.

The scale of sexual perversion in the UK has reached unimaginable proportions.

Scandal after scandal has sucked in media tycoons, politicians and celebrities, so much so that Home Secretary Theresa May’s attempts to launch an independent inquiry into allegations of a Westminster abuse ring found itself in pieces again after she scrapped the panel last month. It has been virtually impossible for May to find someone willing to head up the inquiry who hasn’t in some way been associated with those it was required to investigate.

    http://socialistworker.org/2015/01/07/above-the-law

I believe that the scale of this is even higher in the US, but it has been covered up better. We need this to explode and become at least as visible as the one in the UK if we are to be able to clean house in our government.

Incidentally, this is how the NPA came about:

Rather than charging Epstein, Krischer took the bizarre step of referring the case to a grand jury. America remains one of few countries in the world to still use grand juries to decide whether to prosecute a case. Two recently decided against indicting police officers who killed Mike Brown and Eric Garner. There is no judge presiding over a grand jury–instead, prosecuting attorneys, typically with close working relationships with the police, instruct the jury on the law. These attorneys hold a great deal of sway over the final results.

It is no surprise, therefore, that the rich and powerful are keen for cases against them to go to a grand jury, where the prosecuting attorney, whom they may personally know, is able to “advise” the jury on what legal decision it should take.

Who was it who flew in to Florida to advise Krischer on referring the case to a grand jury? None other than lawyer Alan Dershowitz, who now faces allegations of sexual abuse himself, and has been defending Prince Andrew in the past week. The Daily Beast reported in 2010 that “according to Detective Joe Recarey’s report, Dershowitz began sending the detective Facebook and MySpace posts to demonstrate that some of these girls were no angels.”

Read the entire article. It is very well written.

It seems the Palm Beach PD sought felony charges against Epstein but Florida State Attorney Barry Krischer agreed to charge him only with one count of aggravated assault with no intent to commit a felony. The Palm Beach PD, was not happy about this and referred the case to the FBI who sent the matter to federal prosecutor R. Alexander Acosta, the US Attorney for South Florida. Acosta’s office agreed that the state charge was insufficient and conducted their own investigation. I believe, but may be wrong, that the NPA was negotiated by Acosta’s office. The US agreed to the NPA.

    • ckg on January 7, 2015, 3:30 pm

A 9/2006 NYT article titled Questions of Preferential Treatment Are Raised in Sex Case Against Money Manager also discusses Krischer’s granting preferential treatment to wealthy, connected Epstein.

But instead of proceeding with such charges on his own, the Palm Beach County state attorney took the rare step of presenting a broad range of possible charges to a grand jury, which indicted Mr. Epstein in July on the lesser count. In Florida, prosecutors usually refer only capital cases to grand juries.

Even before the indictment, the Palm Beach police chief, Michael Reiter, had accused prosecutors of giving Mr. Epstein special treatment and asked the state attorney, Barry E. Krischer, to remove himself from the case.

But Mr. Epstein fought back, assembling a team of star lawyers, including Gerald B. Lefcourt and Alan M. Dershowitz, a friend of his, to look into the backgrounds of his young accusers.

Around that time, the police report said, Mr. Dershowitz met with prosecutors to share information about the accusers, including statements they had posted on MySpace.com, the social networking site, concerning use of drugs and alcohol. According to the report, Mr. Krischer’s office then decided to delay the grand jury session for several months.

The interesting thing about this is that it confirms Dershowitz was a friend of Epstein before Epstein hired him as a lawyer.

      • lysias on January 7, 2015, 3:41 pm

Also confirms that Dersh was involved in investigating the witnesses.

I wonder how Dersh and Epstein became friends. Did Epstein live in the Boston area at any time?

      • traintosiberia on January 8, 2015, 12:26 am

This is often the case that a witness or an accuser is judged and evaluated on the basis of past association with unrelated but illegal or immoral activities. Is there any statistical data to show that the use of this type of associations yields right result or establishes the correct conclusion?
Going to the water is not the reason for the drowning . Sailing into the sea is not the reason for the shipwreck . By focussing on certain associations that are inherent in certain kind of activities often distract one from appreciating more proximate reasons that can explain the outcome better. Alcohol or sex are part of early adulthood and one can claim also of teen age college going generation . This activity can’t be used to cast doubt on the claims of rape when made by someone from this generation.

    Here is another Israeli story:

An Israeli military court has handed three life sentences to a Palestinian convicted of organising the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers.

Hussam Hassan Kawasme was also ordered on Tuesday to pay $63,000 in compensation to each of the three families.

Kawasme was arrested in connection with organising and financing the June 12 kidnapping of the three teenagers that triggered a series of events which helped lead to Israel’s deadly 50-day offensive against Gaza.

The bodies of the three Israelis were found three weeks later.

“The accused was convicted of the most serious crimes … the cold-blooded and terrible murder of three young people who were going home to their families,” court documents said.

    http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2015/01/palestinian-sentenced-over-settler-killings-20151614946750802.html

Anyone know whether or not the killers of that poor Kdheir kid who was brutally killed got life sentences too, and how many of Israel’s killers of Palestinians kids (so often) are also given such sentences? Or are such sentences only applicable for goyims?

    • Mooser on January 7, 2015, 12:22 pm

“Or are such sentences only applicable for goyims?”

As much as I enjoy twisting the tongue’s tail and hearing it howl, the plural of “Goy” which is used when the word is used at all, which is usually isn’t, here, is “the Goyim”. But it’s up to you, of course.

Every paper seems to have their set of “10 questions” for Randy Andy. These are the ones from The Daily Record:

    1) After the notorious photograph of you taken in London in 2001 with your arm around 17-year-old teenage masseuse and alleged trafficked sex slave Virginia Roberts, were you left alone with her and what took place?

    2) Did Virginia Roberts give you a massage, as she has claimed, in New York later that year and were either of you naked at the time?

    3) Did you witness a lesbian orgy of young Russian girls and Virginia Roberts arranged by Jeffrey Epstein on his island Little St James in the Caribbean?

    4) Were you aware that Jeffrey Epstein was paying Virginia Roberts and other girls for sex with him and his guests?

    5) Did you see naked teenage girls being entertained at Jeffrey Epstein’s properties in the Caribbean and West Palm Beach, Florida?

    6) Were you given sensual massages by a number of other young female consorts provided by Jeffrey Epstein, as alleged by a former member of his staff Juan Alessi?

    7) When did you first consider, as an heir to the throne, a father of two and for many years an official representative of the British government abroad, that your close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein was inappropriate?

    8) Have you offered any help or support to Jeffrey Epstein in his legal case against prosecutors in Florida and what form did this take?

    9) How many times have you met or spoken to Jeffrey Epstein since he was convicted of soliciting a minor in 2008?

    10) Why are you not, like Professor Alan Dershowitz who has been similarly accused by Virginia Roberts, taking legal action to clear your name of underage sex allegations?

I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes for a while!

Cassell and Edwards appear to be playing this very cannily.
Dershowitz has acted predictably, shooting his mouth off and impugning their reputations in, what appears to me, an actionable way. They would have anticipated this.
Dersh’s suit against them hasn’t a prayer (a lawyer is entitled to believe his client) but theirs against him appears to have more substance – Dersh has mouthed off in every media outlet that would have him. – “defamatory per se directly attacking the fitness of the plaintiffs to engage in the honoured profession of the practice of law”.
I wonder if they planned this – its all happening very rapidly as if they had prepared for it.

Then there is the business of the other three Janes unidentified so far. Might we anticipate a sharp intake of breath from the vicinity of casa Dershbag when they are revealed? We know measures were taken to buy or bully some victims into silence. Maybe it wasn’t enough.

    • CloakAndDagger on January 7, 2015, 10:02 am

Yes, I am anticipating some fireworks from what the other 3 Jane Does may reveal. Jane Doe #3 has gotten a lot of publicity by removing her anonymity and we have heard her tale. The other 3 may be the icing on the cake, or the cake itself. The defamation lawsuit may provide the platform where much is revealed.

    • lysias on January 7, 2015, 10:10 am

And Jane Doe #3 also has an excellent case against Dersh. She was reported in the Daily Mail yesterday to have been told by Epstein’s lawyers (I wonder who?) in 2011 or so that, if she cooperated with Epstein, she would be “taken care of”, whereas, if she did not, she would be denounced as a prostitute and drug addict. And now, what is Dersh saying about her? Sure looks like part of a conspiracy to me. RICO?

If she is allowed to join the two lawyers’ suit (seems to be same complaint,) imagine the effect on any jury.

  27. bryan on January 7, 2015, 2:33 am

They may have evidence as to who they really are, and I hope these murderers will get arrested soon. Meanwhile this has shed a very bad light on Muslims and Islam, because of media coverage.

      • Walid on January 7, 2015, 1:35 pm

Kay, I agree that it’s on its way of being tagged a Muslim attack but Ihave a feeling that Muslims have nothing to do with what happened. It’s too well planned and too well executed and it wasn’t a suicide mission and the assassins could have just as easily gone after a French political figure rather than after helpless cartoonists. Very fish. French Jewish immigration to Israel will now skyrocket.

      • Walid on January 7, 2015, 1:48 pm

Just, in the French and American media, it’s an open and shut case. Muslims did it and now the authorities simply have to piece together the evidence to prove it. Most of the experts brought in by CNN are Jewish including the assistant mayor of Paris, a Mr Klugman. The French Jewish lobby, the Criff, must be in the champagne by now.

SEE: “France’s soaring anti-Semitism lures Jewish Defense League vigilantes out of shadows”, By Cnaan Liphshiz, JTA, 6/25/13

[EXCERPT] PARIS (JTA) — With scooter helmets in hand, a man called Yohan and six buddies stroll around Paris’ 20th arrondissement. The seven look much like a typical group of French students — until they locate a group of Arab men they suspect of perpetrating an anti-Semitic attack the previous day.
Using their helmets as bludgeons, members of France’s Jewish Defense League, or LDJ, set upon the Arabs and beat them. Several of the Arabs attempt to escape in a blue sedan, but the LDJ members pursue the vehicle, causing it to crash into a stone wall.
The attack last August, filmed by a television crew shooting a documentary on LDJ, was one of at least 115 violent incidents that critics attribute to the group since its registration in France in 2001 . . .
. . . Besides the television footage, a French court last week sentenced LDJ activist David Ben Aroch to six months in prison for an attack he staged with another LDJ member at a Paris bookstore owned by a pro-Palestinian activist.
Aroch’s accomplice, Jason Tibi, was sentenced to four months for the attack at Librairie Resistance that sent the two victims to the hospital for days.

It may have been a real-life demonstration of what one masked LDJ boss recently called “treatment a la Israel” during a speech at a secret training camp in France.
The filmed address was the introduction to a LDJ propaganda clip titled “Five cops for every Jew, 10 Arabs for each rabbi.”

[EXCERPT] Thousands of books drenched in cooking oil – that is the latest exploit of the Zionist fanatics who regularly attack property and people in Paris and get away with it.
In the early afternoon of Friday, July 3, five men, mostly masked, stormed into the “Resistances” bookstore located in a quiet residential neighborhood of the 17th arrondissement in northwest Paris. To the startled women working in the shop, as well as two customers, they announcing that they were from the Jewish Defense League and began ripping books off shelves and tables, dousing them heavily with cooking oil, and then smashing four computers before leaving rapidly in a waiting vehicle.
The bookstore is owned and operated by Olivia Zemor and Nicolas Shashahani, who are also the leaders of the very active militant group CAPJPO-EuroPalestine (CAPJPO stands for Coordination des Appels pour une Paix Juste au Proche Orient). In addition to a wide collection of books on the Middle East and other subjects, including fiction, the bookstore has a reading room and a lending library, gives courses in English and Arabic, and possesses a modest but well-attended auditorium where authors are invited to speak. ”
Two and a half years ago, on December 7, 2006, a similar attack squad threw teargas grenades into the bookstore as a crowd was gathering to listen to the late Israeli author Tanya Reinhart and her companion, the Israeli poet Aharon Shabtai. On that occasion, Shashahani had to be treated for effects from the teargas but material damage was slight. This time, the entire shop is a shambles, with countless ruined books, and damage runs to tens of thousands of euros, according to Shashahani.
But, he stresses, this is only one in “hundreds of violent actions” carried out by the French version of the banned US Jewish Defense League in recent years. There is no reason to expect them to stop so long as they can count on indulgence on the part of French authorities and the silence of the mainstream media. The vandalism on the Resistances bookstore was reported by the French news agency AFP, but the dispatch was apparently carried only by the small tabloid Le Parisien and not by the major newspapers, much less by television. Usually, almost the only people who are informed about such events are in the politically active circles targeted for intimidation.
The general public remains ignorant of these aggressions, while it is regularly informed by television of even relatively minor acts of anti-Semitism . . .

If this was a false flag, I think it was sponsored at a much higher and more official level than the French JDL. McClatchy article, Evidence in Paris attack suggests gunmen had combat experience, has some suggestive indicators:

The two gunmen who attacked the editorial offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo Wednesday morning in Paris appeared to be focused professionals who had carefully prepared the assault.

Video of the attack indicates that the two were well trained, striking their target during its weekly editorial meeting, when most of the publication’s journalists would be gathered in one place.

Other evidence suggests they may be linked to a top French al Qaida operative, David Drugeon, who has been the target at least twice of U.S. airstrikes in Syria over the last four months.

Witnesses inside the magazine’s offices told the French newspaper Humanité that both attackers spoke perfect French and claimed to be members of al Qaida.

Drugeon, who many experts believe was initially a French intelligence asset before defecting to al Qaida, previously masterminded a 2012 “lone wolf” attack on French soldiers and Jewish targets in the southern French city of Toulouse. That attack killed seven people before the perpetrator, a French citizen named Mohammed Merah who French intelligence believes had been trained by Drugeon, was killed by a police sniper after a long a violent standoff with security forces.

Submitted by Ali Abunimah on Fri, 01/02/2015 – 19:54

[EXCERPT] In a year-end joint media release, Israel’s Government Press Office and the Jewish Agency trumpet that “aliyah” has hit a “ten-year high.”

According to the emailed release, more than 26,500 Jews moved to Israel in 2014, up about a third from the previous year.

The surge represented a huge increase in “the number of Jews who reached the conclusion that they have no other country,” according to Sofa Landver, minister of “aliyah and immigrant absorption.”

“Aliyah” is the term Israel uses for when Jews emigrate to historic Palestine (Israel and the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip) under the racist “Law of Return” which benefits only Jews and excludes indigenous Palestinians displaced in and since 1948 from returning home.

“I am excited to see the fruits of our many efforts to encourage aliyah, but we have not yet reached our goal,” the Russian-born Landver adds. “Our ministry continues to work … to promote the ingathering of the exiles, a vision that has accompanied the people of Israel since the state’s establishment.”

In other words, the Israeli government will not be satisfied until Jewish communities around the world, especially in Europe, have been totally eliminated.

The release does not mention the number of Jews who left Israel during the year for Europe, North America and other places which they deem preferable to live – an estimated one million Israelis live abroad.

      • Why are they coming?

“For the first time ever, France tops the list of countries of origin for immigrants to Israel, with nearly 7,000 new immigrants in 2014, double the 3,400 who came last year,” the release proclaims.

“This development has spurred The Jewish Agency and the Ministry of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption to encourage Aliyah from France,” it adds.

The Jewish Agency is the government-backed organization that encourages such colonization.

“Additionally, some 5,840 new immigrants have come from Ukraine over the course of the year, compared to some 2,020 in 2013,” the release states, attributing the dramatic increase to “the ongoing instability in the eastern part of the country.”

“This year also saw a historic shift: for the first time in Israel’s history, the number of immigrants who came to Israel from the free world is greater than that of immigrants fleeing countries in distress,” Jewish Agency chair Natan Sharansky is quoted as saying.

This trend, Sharansky claims, is “evidence of Israel’s attractiveness as a place.” But this positive spin flatly contradicts Israel’s and the Jewish Agency’s own propaganda: they habitually insist that French Jews are now in greater danger than at any time since the Nazi occupation and must flee to Israel for their lives.

The release does admit that Ukrainian Jews are departing not due to the positive pull of Israel, but because of “instability.”

This means that the more there are incidents or reports of “instability” or prejudice affecting Jews, the more “excited” the Israeli minister of absorption will become.

      • Targeting France

The term anti-Semitism has historically referred to European Christian hatred of European Jews, as Joseph Massad explains, but it has since come to mean hatred of Jews as Jews in general. It has never meant historically, and should not be used, to mean a generalized hatred of people of the Middle East – mislabeled as “Semites” – including Palestinians.

A decade ago, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon caused outrage when he urged French Jews to move to Israel as soon as possible to escape a life-endangering surge in anti-Semitism. At the time, France deemed Sharon’s comments “unacceptable.”

Yet Israel has continued to target France’s Jewish population because it is the largest in Europe – estimated at half a million people – and is therefore an irresistible reserve in Israel’s attempt to fight off the supposed “demographic threat” from Palestinians who will soon, if they don’t already, outnumber Jews in all of historic Palestine. . .

“See the latest genetic research at John Hopkins by an Israeli Jew no less”

Gee, and I thought “Semitic” was spurious language origin grouping invented by 18th century German historio-linguist trying to match things up with the Scriptures, but maybe it’s something more. Doesn’t Semite mean “sons of Shem” or some damn thing?
Oh who cares, if the term can bring people together.

P.P.S. ALSO SEE: “Sharansky to ‘Post’: 50000 French Jews inquired about aliya in 2014”, By Sam Sokol & Herb Keinon, Jerusalem Post, 01/06/2015
According to Sharansky, “the overwhelming majority” of Jewish émigrés from France, possibly up to 70 percent, choose to go to Israel.

[EXCERPTS] Some 50,000 French Jews asked the Jewish Agency for information about immigrating to Israel in 2014, and the Jewish Agency is holding two information seminars a day in France, whereas a year ago it held only one a month, Natan Sharansky told The Jerusalem Post on Monday. . .

. . . Of some 600,000 French Jews, “hundreds of thousands” of them are now contemplating leaving the country, he added.

“Right now, everyday the Jewish Agency is organizing two evening [meetings] for 200 people to give them basic information about aliya. A year ago we had one meeting a month, then we had one a week, and now we have two evenings every day. Fifty thousand people have asked for information this year, and I’m speaking about the area of Paris.”

According to a 2013 study of European Jewry by the EU’s Fundamental Rights Agency, up to a third of the Jews in several countries are mulling emigration.

France, followed by Ukraine, led the pack in terms of numbers of immigrants to Israel in 2014, the Jewish Agency announced at the end of December.

Immigration overall increased by 32%, the group said, in what Sharansky termed “a year of record-breaking aliya.” . . .

There was an article in Haaretz a while ago which said that the number of French Jews who actually ended up in Israel last year was about 450 (can’t recall the exact number). Wow out of a population of 600,000 that is quite a feat!

I wonder how many will give up their French passports when they get there?

I think they put Sharansky in the Jewish Agency because they needed to give him a job and he can’t do much. I once went on their website to find out what exactly they do and it said something about how they were the official representatives between Jewish communities and Israel. Gee what does Israel need a diplomatic corps for? More useless bureaucracy.

It’s worth knowing that MI5/6 blackmail the paedophile rings in Westminster and protect the Buckingham Palace one. There’s also an inter spy blackmail matrix between the top three of Mossad, MI6 and the CIA. Mossad are the champs at getting perverts into power and controlling them.

    Now, this is really juicy!!!
The Scotland Yard and the MI5 have their hands always full to cover up all the doings of the british royal family. The brits would do a great service to their country if they follow the french example and make that whole family a head shorter!

    • lysias on January 7, 2015, 11:03 am

If the truth were ever to be made clear to the British public about how Diana died, it could mean the end of the monarchy, or at least the succession to the throne of her elder son. And the end of such institutions as MI6.

Of course, similar events would probably occur in this country if the truth were ever to be made clear to our public about how JFK died, and about later crimes of our national security state.

      • CloakAndDagger on January 7, 2015, 11:08 am

“He has a way of spooking you, does Epstein. Or he did. My babies were born prematurely, dangerously so; he’d asked which hospital I was giving birth at—and I was so afraid that somehow, with all his connections to the academic and medical community, that he was coming for my little ones that I put security on them in the NICU. When they’d been released home some months later, I went out to my first party. There was Jeffrey Epstein, sucking a lollipop. “Vicky,” he said, “you look so pretty.””

Breitbart thinks the two lawyers blundered in suing the Dersh. I don’t agree.

LAWYERS BLUNDER BY SUING DERSHOWITZ FOR DEFAMATION

In chess, blunders are noted with a “?” and major blunders with a “??”. However, the decision by lawyers Bradley J. Edwards and Paul G. Cassell to sue Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz for defamation would deserve a third question mark, as it effectively discredits the claim by their unnamed client that Dershowitz committed rape against an underage girl. The claim was made in a lawsuit challenging a plea bargain in a prostitution case involving Dershowitz’s former client, Jeffey Epstein.

    • ckg on January 7, 2015, 1:31 pm

The Breitbart article was penned by editor Joel Pollak. In the preface of his new book, Pollak writes,

I think he may be a little biased.

This is the elites circling the wagon and protecting a pederast. It’s a shocking case and that’s just the known facts.”

  38. HarryLaw on January 7, 2015, 12:01 pm

The Times reported that a letter released by the court last year showed Brad Edwards, Ms Roberts’s lawyer, telling the US attorney’s office that Epstein “may be the most dangerous sexual predator that the country has ever seen”.

Dated July 2008, the letter continued: “The evidence suggests that for at least four years he was sexually abusing as many as three to four girls a day.
And for that the billionaire gets a sweetheart deal, serving just 13 months in a vacant wing of the Palm Beach stockade, and was out on work release six days a week for up to 16 hours a day. Sounds like a holiday.
Meanwhile in California under the three strikes rule you can receive 2-25 to life sentences for various shoplifting charges. This is the American dream. You have to be asleep to believe it.

  39. NoMoreIsrael on January 7, 2015, 12:08 pm

So Vickie Ward has done some excellent investigative reporting on this, (Vanity Fair, Daily Beast). She’s convinced that Epstein did not acquire his vast fortune through his business acumen. She’s talked to a ton of people and no one believes that. Ward says Epstein was always very concerned whenever the topic of “the girls” arose.

OK..so is this guy the greatest blackmailer in history? He captures wealthy influential people on hidden camera then extorts gigantic sums of money from them? That just sounds too clumsy, ham-fisted and iffy to me. Word would spread rapidly. The guy couldn’t possibly maintain all these high class pals in business, government and academia. Unless…

    Unless what?

Unless there is someone above Epstein who is the real puppetmaster in a much larger operation. Someone…as in a GOVERNMENT.

Perhaps this is all nonsense. But you have to put the available puzzle pieces together. I’m not typically a conspiracy theorist but I’m starting to really think this story is MUCH bigger than anyone is letting on. And once you start to suppose, then the really wild theories can be entertained. “Listen Tony, we really need you onboard with this Iraq thing. Pity if anything were to emerge that might sully your impeccable reputation…”

The guy has the largest residence in all of NYC. oh..and his own private island populated with underage concubines. Where did this all come from? That’s the first thing we need some sort of plausible answer for.

what’s ‘funny’ is that the Dalton School would hire a person without any degree to teach the privileged:

“Epstein attended Lafayette High School. He attended classes at Cooper Union from 1969 to 1971 and then at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU, leaving without a degree. From 1973 to 1975 he taught calculus and physics at the Dalton School” (wiki)

“Qualifications for teaching at Dalton include: BA required, MA preferred; strong background and knowledge of the desired discipline; ability to work well with a range of able, highly motivated children; ability to work well with a team; strong organizational skills, and high energy and creativity.”

        http://www.dalton.org/employment

PS~ I can’t find any information wrt his marital history/ status, so I can only assume he was only ever a pedophile. Wonder if he was when he was teaching or learning…

      • annie on January 7, 2015, 3:36 pm

Wonder if he was when he was teaching……….

unfortunately it is very common for pedophiles to seek employment that situates them in positions with access to children. either schools, camps, church youth programs, youth sports activities etc etc.

i had missed the part about him not having a degree which begs the question who hired him at dalton and why. lots of these kind of people travel in circles and pass around info on the children and trade in children (clubs etc, like the UK scandal from the 70’s-80’s currently erupting in the press). it’s not unlikely he encountered someone from dalton at one of these trysts, sought evidence in which to (blackmail) gain entry into the school and worked his way up from there.

So why aren’t the New York Times and Washington Post looking at the obvious elephant in the room? — they have the investigative resources to do so (at least they once did).

One possible explanation: they are part of Jeffrey Epstein’s political network (along with Bill Clinton, Ehud Barak, Ehud Olmert, Henry Kissinger, Larry Summers, Michael Bloomberg, Peter Mandelson, Tony Blair, etc.) — they are much more interested in protecting him (and his string-pullers) than in reporting the facts about him and his operation.

Lord Dykes asked: ‘Is my noble friend aware that more and more people think it is some kind of attempt to prolong the agony of Mr Blair facing possible war crimes charges?’

Tony Blair could face war crimes charges as a result of the Iraq war inquiry report, the House of Lords has been told.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mordechai_Vanunu

“Vanunu states in his letters that he intended to share the money received from the newspaper (for the information) with the Anglican Church of Australia. Apparently, frustrated by the delay while Hounam was completing his research, Vanunu approached a rival newspaper, the tabloid Sunday Mirror, whose owner was Robert Maxwell. In 1991, a self-described former Mossad officer or government translator named Ari Ben-Menashe alleged that Maxwell, allegedly an agent for Israeli intelligence services, had tipped off the Israeli Embassy about Vanunu in 1986.[33]

The Israeli government decided to capture Vanunu, but determined to avoid harming its good relationship with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and not wanting to risk confrontation with British intelligence, determined Vanunu should be persuaded to leave British territory under his own volition. Israel’s efforts to capture Vanunu were headed by Giora Tzahor.[34]

Through constant surveillance and analysis by Mossad psychologists, the Mossad found that Vanunu had become lonely and eager for female companionship. Masquerading as an American tourist called “Cindy”, Israeli Mossad agent Cheryl Bentov befriended Vanunu, and on 30 September persuaded him to fly to Rome with her on a holiday.[35] This relation has been perceived as a classic honey trap operation whereby an intelligence agent employs seduction to gain the target’s trust—a practice which has been officially sanctioned in Israel.[36][37][38] On the day Bentov met Vanunu, the Israeli Navy electronic surveillance ship INS Noga was ordered to the Italian coast.

The Noga, disguised as a merchant ship, was fitted with electronic surveillance equipment and satellite communications gear in its superstructure, and was primarily used to intercept communications traffic in Arab ports. As the ship was heading from Antalya in Turkey back to Haifa, the captain was instructed in an encrypted message to change course for Italy and anchor off the coast. The Noga arrived off the Italian port city of La Spezia and anchored in international waters, just outside Italian territorial waters.

Once in Rome, Vanunu and Bentov took a taxi to an apartment in the old quarter of the city, where three waiting Mossad operatives overpowered Vanunu and injected him with a paralyzing drug. Later that night, a white van hired by the Israeli embassy arrived, and Vanunu was carried to it on a stretcher. The ambulance drove out of Rome, down the coast to a pre-arranged point.

Vanunu was transferred to a waiting speedboat, which then rendezvoused with the waiting Noga anchored off the coast. He was brought aboard the Noga in total secrecy. The crew were told to assemble in the ship’s common room and lock the door as Vanunu and the Mossad agents were taken aboard. The ship then departed for Israel. During the journey, Vanunu was kept in a cabin, with Mossad agents taking turns guarding him. None of the Noga’s crew was allowed to look at the prisoner.”

    —————————————————-

OK look…I’m not trying to set up a Glen Beck chalkboard of crazy conspiracies here. But Robert Maxwell, father Epstein’s girlfriend and the alleged madam for his underaged sex ring just HAPPENS to work for Israeli intelligence and just HAPPENED to help them capture Mordechai Vanunu in a honey trap? If true, that strikes me as the mother of all coincidences!

    From the BBC:

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-30708795

“A royal aide has said the prince will “move on and push ahead” with his work, describing him as “resilient”.”

Prince Andrew is moving in precisely the opposite direction of Alan Dershowitz — he wants the story to die down as soon as possible — not fan the flames.

The Dershbag goes back on his words! Who would’ve thunk it!

In clear and certain terms, Mr. Dershowitz supported his passionate and very public protestations of innocence with a public commitment to waive the statute of limitations so that he could directly confront the allegations made in federal court filings of his involvement in criminal sexual misconduct. When presented with a written waiver of the statute of limitations yesterday however, he refused to execute it.

Mr. Dershowitz told the world he was prepared to submit to questioning under oath about the allegations made against him. However, a written invitation communicated to both Mr. Dershowitz and his attorney to schedule the deposition has been ignored for the last two days, consistent with Mr. Dershowitz’s refusal to cooperate in providing testimony which refusal began more than 5 years ago.

    http://www.digitaljournal.com/pr/2428282

    And this is interesting too:

‘Multiple individuals have placed you in the presence of Jeffrey Epstein on multiple occasions and in various locations when Jeffrey Epstein was in the company of underage females subsequently identified as victims of Mr. Epstein’s criminal molestations. This information is derived from both someone’s testimony and private interviews. Your personal observations regarding such circumstances would clearly not involve any privileged communications, and it is those observations that will be the primary focus of our questioning.’

Here’s my take on what has happened here.
The deal Dersh engineered back in September 2007 was designed to make any further litigation/examination of this offending impossible. It was specifically designed to circumvent any prosecution of Epstein’s co-offenders – make it all go away.

Here it is back on the front pages and in several court rooms.

      Well done Brad Edwards.

      • lysias on January 7, 2015, 3:56 pm

I suspect it was sold to people in the government as a way to give immunity to Prince Andrew without specifically naming him. But the way Dersh made sure it was phrased, it also protected Dersh without specifically naming him.

        Clever, clever.

        Or too clever by half?

Many of the players must have viewed Dershowitz’s antics of the past few days with great trepidation. It remains to be seen whether criminal proceedings can be brought (because of the previous plea deal) but it is now inevitable that all the evidence will be aired in public court. This is a huge victory for Edwards who was incensed at the injustice of the plea deal. Heads are gonna roll. I’m getting out my knitting.

    Alan Dershowitz’s Curious Denials

One has to wonder whether Dershowitz mischaracterizes these allegations in order to be able to deny them with such specifics. A more innocent possibility is that he wrote the draft declaration in a hurry and that he simply didn’t pay sufficient attention to Jane Doe #3’s allegations.

The Dershbag continues to stuff his foot into his oral orifice. Seems this great lawyer never learnt that assertions like this in pubic can only hurt him in the defamation case. Well, I for one, want to continue to encourage him to flap his jaw! More, more, I say!

Lawyer and author Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax TV on Wednesday that he never had sex with the underage girl who now, as an adult, has named him as one of several prominent men who sexually abused her when she was a minor.

Newsmax contributor Dershowitz, appearing on “MidPoint” with host Ed Berliner, also repeated his sharp criticism of the woman’s two attorneys, asserting that “they’re guilty of basically suborning falsehoods” and that “they are doing it for the money.”
    :
    :
Dershowitz told Berliner that he welcomes the defamation lawsuit “because finally I have an opportunity to cross-examine my false accusers and to prove that this woman made up the whole story and that her lawyers work with her and contrive with her.”
    :
    :
Asked why Cassell and Edwards would tangle with him, Dershowitz said, “Don’t ever underestimate the stupidity of greedy lawyers.’

Oh, man! He is like putting ammunition in their gun to shoot him with!

Although I’ve been enjoying your commentary on this issue and learning a lot, and thank you, here, Mr. Dagger, I must quibble.
I’ve always felt that if Hilary had, during the Lewinsky imbroglio, thrown on a torn cloth coat, packed a small overnight bag and walked out of the White House toward the bus stop, declaring ‘not another night under that man’s roof! ‘ the country would have been hers for the asking. She could have been elected Queen-for-a-life, and I her loyalest subject.
Instead, I wonder about the corrosive effect of that kind of humiliation on a women’s emotions and character, and wonder if she maybe doesn’t have it in for us. She scares me, cause of that.

  51. HarryLaw on January 7, 2015, 7:17 pm

    Everybody lies.
Cops lie. Lawyers lie. Witnesses lie. The victims lie.
A trial is a contest of lies. And everybody in the courtroom knows this. The judge knows this. Even the jury knows this. They come into the building knowing they will be lied to. They take their seats in the box and agree to be lied to.
The trick if you are sitting at the defense table is to be patient. To wait. Not for any lie. But for the one you can grab onto and forge like hot iron into a sharpened blade. You then use that blade to rip the case open and spill its guts out on the floor. A lawyer who had a large fish on the wall over his desk, the plaque said.. “If I’d Kept My Mouth Shut I Wouldn’t Be Here”
Words to live by. Most criminal defendants talk their way into prison. Few talk their way out. The best single piece of advice I have ever given a client is to just keep your mouth shut. Talk to no one about your case, not even your own wife. You keep close counsel with yourself. You take the nickel and you live to fight another day. Sound advice Dershowitz has forgotten in his attempt to smear two respected lawyers, he’s toast.

  52. CloakAndDagger on January 7, 2015, 8:11 pm

    Food for thought…

The presumption of innocence is essential — but it should never mean presuming the guilt of the accuser

If there was one thing that was pretty predictable when allegations surfaced against Prince Andrew of sex with an underage girl, it was that the alleged victim was going to have a rough time of it in the court of public opinion.
As a culture, we have a knee-jerk urge to dismiss allegations of sex offences as lies, an inclination to sympathise more with the accused than the accuser. Buckingham Palace has asserted that “for the avoidance of doubt, any suggestion of impropriety with under age minors is categorically untrue”. And Alan Dershowitz, the Harvard law professor also implicated in the claims made by Virginia Roberts, has declared that allegations against him “should not be believed”, and therefore allegations towards Prince Andrew should also be “presumed” to be untrue.
    :
    :
From a legal perspective, feminist writers like The Guardian’s Jessica Valenti have suggested reversing the burden of proof, so the onus is on the defendant to prove his innocence. The idea is not unheard of: as part of India’s rape law reforms, the Indian Evidence Act 1872 now includes a clause that if the victim alleges that there was no consent, there is a presumption of no consent. But the difficulties with this are obvious: such a burden is incredibly heavy upon the defendant.
    :
    :
Presuming the innocence of the accused does not mean demonising the accuser. Presuming the innocence of the accused does not mean refusing to listen to them. Even a failure to convict does not “prove” innocence or discredit the initial accusation. So it’s about time the presumption of innocence stopped being used as a front for victim-blaming.

    http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/the-presumption-of-innocence-is-at-the-core-of-our-legal-system–but-we-need-to-rethink-our-approach-when-it-comes-to-sex-abuse-allegations-9960234.html

“He knows that he can’t respond to what I say,” he said. “He doesn’t have the knowledge or the competence to deal with the issues. Therefore, the idea is to try to shut it up by throwing as much slime as you can.”

A very bland report from the BBC. They’ve taken a battering from political enemies in recent years, and it shows.

“Norman Finkelstein, a professor of political science, accused Mr Dershowitz of plagiarism in his Israel book – a charge that Harvard University investigated and dismissed.”

As a retired editor with over twenty years in educational publishing, I’m baffled by how he got away with it. I’ve read the passages in question and it’s as obvious a case of plagiarism as you could find. He even repeats an editorial error in the passage he copied.

In 2004, when Harvard cleared Dershowitz of the plagiarism charge, Larry Summers, whom Epstein is known to have hosted and who is known to have flown on at least one of Epstein’s jets, was president of Harvard. • MHughes976 on January 8, 2015, 3:25 pm

Terrorism, I’d say, involves attack on those who are neither combatants nor criminals (except in the judgement of an illegitimate or kangaroo court) nor marauders or plunderers on the loose. In most intelligible moral systems, involvement in terrorism in this sense could not be justified if there were any reasonably practical alternative and if those involved are not, whatever they do, in extreme danger. But if I were in that sort of danger and if on any objective view I had no other hope I would, as I think would everyone, give terrorism serious consideration. I would also have to consider absolute concession, withdrawal from the scene and acceptance that there is no future for people of my kind.

      • oldgeezer on January 8, 2015, 4:09 pm

A good catch. I agree much of the Palestinian actions are those of resistance/liberation. Some are arguably revenge. Some of it is terrorism in my mind but then Israel was born out of terrorism and therefore asked for it to be used against them.

Taxi, more and more analysts are saying the same thing but for a different reason than the slimeball. He is capitalizing on the opportunity to score points against the Palestinians, which is totally idiotic. After the dust will have settled and the mourning period has passed, you will be hearing the blunt truth on France’s hanky-panky with the fundamentalists starting with Bernard-Henri Lévy’s July 2011 anti-Assad meeting at a St-Germain-des-Prés cinema of top French and Israeli Zionists (Hollande not yet president sent a message of encouragement and Laurent Fabius was one of the main speakers) and of prominent Salafists and Brotherhood leaders to plot the overthrow of the Syrian government. BHL had just finished convincing Sarkosy to bomb Gaddafi’s Libya. Now you can see the mess left behind from the French intervention in both Libya and Syria and the worst of it, all those French jihadists encouraged to fight in Syria are coming back to France as fully trained terrorists. And we haven’t started talking about Mali and what France has been doing there. So expect a lot of “France reaped what it sowed” in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Fabius and Hollande are still gung-ho on helping the terrorists in Syria wile Obama is starting to shy away from it.

You know, this Epstein/Dershowitz story is barely underway:

“The filing also accuses a famous Harvard law professor, Alan Dershowitz, an attorney for Epstein, of having abused the minor, and describes a larger criminal plot run by the financier to facilitate blackmail. The victim claims she was trafficked by Epstein “for sexual purposes to many other powerful men, including numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known Prime Minister and other world leaders.” These men are not named—yet.”

So many more shoes to drop.

Apparently Edwards and Epstein have a little more History.

“In 2009 he (Epstein) sued Rothstein and Edwards individually in Palm Beach Circuit Court for defamation and civil racketeering violations. He alleged Edwards touted Epstein’s willingness to settle sex abuse lawsuits for big bucks to lure Ponzi investors.

Edwards filed a counterclaim saying the suit was a frivolous effort to force him to drop the federal lawsuit.

“The sole motivation was an attempt to intimidate Brad to abandon the interests of his clients,” Scarola said.

Perhaps Epstein had interests other than his own in mind. Edwards had put him on notice he intended to depose in the federal case heavy-hitters including Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and Dershowitz.

“Epstein’s housekeeper Alfredo Rodriguez testified Dershowitz stayed at Epstein’s house [at times] during the years when Epstein was assaulting minor females on a daily basis,” according to a 39-page “statement of undisputed facts” Scarola filed in Epstein’s defamation suit on April 8, 2011.”

Any evidence that Dersh was acting as Epstein’s lawyer in Epstein’s defamation suit?

@taxi: “Israel was established on sheer terrorism: multiple-tentacled terrorism – so the Dersh can stuff it!

And I don’t know, oldgeezer, if I would define the resistance of an occupied people as ‘terrorism’ per say.”

no reply button for taxi’s comment, so I’ll post here. Your comment to oldgeezer reminded me of words Ruth Eglash chose in her recent article about the possible discovery of the location of the trial of Jesus:
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle_east/archaeologists-find-possible-site-of-jesuss-trial-in-jerusalem/2015/01/04/6d0ce098-7f9a-45de-9639-b7922855bfdb_story.html

She refers to “the Jewish resistance fighting to create the state of Israel in the 1940s.” For me, the word “resistance” implies natives resisting invaders, e.g., in WWII France, the word refers to the French fighting the German invaders, not vice-versa, but of course words and values are often inverted in the pro-Israel world. (She also refers to Herod as the “eccentric king of Judea,” which seemed to me an eccentric way to describe him https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herod_the_Great).

In 2010 the Daily Beast’s Conchita Sarnoff reported the political reasons why Epstein received preferential treatment:

…Epstein has been a serious and respected player in the highest reaches of politics and philanthropy. He has made substantial contributions to political candidates, served on the Council on Foreign Relations, and donated $30 million to Harvard University.

Moreover, many of his high-powered acquaintances availed themselves of Epstein’s private jets, for which the pilot logs, obtained by discovery in the civil suits, sometimes showed that bold-face names were on the same flights as underage girls. A high-profile trial threatened to splash mud over all sorts of big players, just as both Gov. Richardson and Bill Clinton’s wife were running for president. Also, a hedge fund prosecution in which Epstein offered to give evidence was heating up. Alberto Gonzales, who was U.S. attorney general throughout most of the Epstein investigation and resigned just before the non-prosecution agreement was signed, told The Daily Beast that he “would have instructed the Justice Department to pursue justice without making a political mess.” But that may have been an impossible mandate, given the players involved.

The silence of most victims was ensured by their Epstein-paid lawyers. The Palm Beach Post reported that Epstein agreed as part of the plea deal to pay attorneys to represent women in settlement talks if they didn’t formally file lawsuits. Apparently the Justice Department was working hard to make sure this ended quietly.

    • lysias on January 8, 2015, 7:04 pm

So does this mean the NPA was basically negotiated while Gonzales was AG and just signed off on by his incoming successor Mukasey? Or did Mukasey make the real decision here?

      • ckg on January 8, 2015, 10:16 pm

I would think Mukasey had less influence than Gonzales.

I can imagine that both Gonzales and Mukasey would be favorable to helping Dershowitz since Dersh was one of the most outspoken advocates of, ahem, enhanced interrogation.

Is Dershowitz becoming a bit unhinged? Read the following carefully:

“Alan Dershowitz Responds” (Ed Whelan) http://www.nationalreview.com/bench-memos/396005/alan-dershowitz-responds-ed-whelan

One is reminded of the old saying — a man who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client.

Competent legal advisers would probably have urged Dershowitz against going on the mainstream media rampage of the last few days — rash statements he has made could create problems for him down the line — especially the defamatory remarks.

With regard to Virginia Roberts — either she will be able to provide credible, concrete and detailed descriptions of her encounters with AD — perhaps buttressed by reliable eyewitness testimony from others — or not. This remains to be seen.

I suspect the damning evidence is the flight logs that would place them both together at the locations mentioned in the recently filed court petition. She was able to produce a damning photo of Prince Andrew and her together because she had asked to have one taken to give to her mother. But apparently that photo isn’t sufficiently damning to preclude Andrew from denying illicit activity. And I would be shocked if she ever requested a photo of the Dersh and her together.

We knew this already, but now it’s in The Guardian: Alan Dershowitz tried to discredit girl who accused Jeffrey Epstein of rape: Harvard law professor recruited private investigators to track girl and suggested that the unnamed teenager was pursuing Epstein for money:

Alan Dershowitz, the Harvard University professor accused alongside Prince Andrew of having sexual relations with a teenage associate of their friend Jeffrey Epstein, was also involved in an effort to discredit a teenage girl who accused Epstein of rape.

Dershowitz, who strongly denies the allegations about his own conduct, recruited private investigators to carry out inquiries on the girl while acting for Epstein’s defence team and sent police printed copies of her MySpace page, claiming it displayed a “fascination with marijuana”.

The professor also suggested, in a letter obtained by the Guardian, that the girl may be pursuing Epstein, a wealthy banker, for his money, and that as a drama student, she was an expert in misleading people.

Epstein is — or at least was — extremely well connected with a lot of big shots in the financial community in New York. In fact, with his wealth, he’s one of those big shots himself. He’s served on boards with the likes of David Rockefeller.

    • RoHa on January 10, 2015, 12:05 am

In British English, if he and the Queen acknowledged each other, shook hands, said “Hello”, then he met the Queen

If he and the Queen sat down in the drawing room and had a long discussion about some important topic, then he met with the Queen.

So perhaps the palace is denying the latter.

lysias, thank you for sharing so many excellent links. This Epstein story is all so interesting and strange, and it just keeps getting better.

I spent my career as a hospital RN. While I knew from observation that high salaries don’t necessarily imply competence or hard work (looking at you, hospital administrators and insurance company CEOs), I could not even imagine how people like Epstein manage to get so fabulously wealthy.

  73. seanmcbride on January 9, 2015, 7:54 pm

Still a mystery: how, precisely, did Jeffrey Epstein obtain his wealth?

“Jeffrey Epstein profile: How did Prince Andrew’s college-dropout friend become an island-owning billionaire?” http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/jeffrey-epstein-profile-how-did-prince-andrews-collegedropout-friend-become-an-islandowning-billionaire-9969092.html

“However, Epstein made his money might seem irrelevant when compared with his predilection for young girls. However, anyone with a rudimentary understanding of financial services ought to have asked tough questions, and nobody appears to have.”

“What may be more important to know are his hidden gurus, string-pullers, “rabbis,” enablers, investors, managers, guides, mentors and clients — his covert network.”

The network of a real-estate and businessman like Epstein would be huge, extending, probably, to several countries. He probably needed layers between himself and some of the things he did.

“How Alan Dershowitz bullied rape victims to protect a serial child molester”
    http://electronicintifada.net/blogs/rania-khalek/how-alan-dershowitz-bullied-rape-victims-protect-serial-child-molester

    BEGIN EXCERPTS
Dershowitz played a key role in negotiating a secret provision in Epstein’s plea deal that immunized “any potential co-conspirators” from federal prosecution. In other words, Dershowitz negotiated an agreement that (if the allegations against him are true) shields him from prosecution for participating in a child sex-trafficking ring.

Since there has been no trial to determine whether Dershowitz and Prince Andrew are liable for the allegations against them, which they categorically deny, they should be presumed innocent until proven otherwise.

That said, while the mainstream press revives its interest in Epstein and reproduces strongly worded denials from Dershowitz and representatives of Prince Andrew, it has overlooked the role of Epstein’s social network in building up his influence and shielding him from accountability. Media coverage of Epstein has been particularly derelict in failing to note the pivotal role of Alan Dershowitz, Israel’s most aggressive defender, in securing near impunity for a sexual predator and his accomplices by bullying, harassing, intimidating and smearing child victims of rape….

The federal government had mountains of evidence to put Epstein behind bars for decades for child sex-trafficking and serial molestation.

Epstein procured and molested no fewer than forty underage girls, some from other continents and as young as twelve, in a trafficking ring that involved some of the most powerful people in America and around the world, including “numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known Prime Minister, and other world leaders,” according to the court filing.
    END EXCERPTS

The mainstream media haven’t “overlooked” this issue — they are deliberately burying it.

Daily Mail: Prince Andrew admits he’s been ‘foolish’ over friendship with paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein:

Last night Virginia’s aunt Carol Roberts Kess, a devout Mormon who helped raise her, spoke for the first time to tell how terrified Virginia fled her Florida home several months ago amid fears of reprisals from billionaire Epstein and his rich and powerful friends.

‘She knew these court papers were coming out so she packed up and fled,’ Carol said.

‘She is frightened for her life. She has angered a lot of powerful and very rich people. Who knows what they could do?’

Carol, the sister of Virginia’s father Sky, said her niece is now living in a ranch ‘in the middle of nowhere’ in Colorado with her husband and three young children.

‘She doesn’t feel safe,’ retired teacher Carol added.

‘There are too many powerful people involved and she is saying things they don’t want made public.

‘Virginia was living a happy life in Florida but she packed up and left because she knew this was coming and was scared for her own life and that of her family.

‘Just before she left she told me she wouldn’t be able to contact any family members for a while – for our own safety. She said, ‘It’s for the best. I don’t want to put anyone in danger.’

Dershowitz: ‘Jimmy Carter Has the Blood of Thousands on His Hands’:

Foxman agreed, saying Carter’s longstanding disdain for Jews is well-known and that he views the world through an Arab-Israeli “fixation.”

“Jimmy Carter has always had a problem with Jews and it borders on anti-Semitism,” he said. “In the midst of this tragedy, in the midst of this serious debate, to again blame it on Israel. He said that the terrorism and the reason the Jews and this anti-Semitism problem (exist) is because of the Arab-Israeli conflict.

“It’s sad, because he was the president of the United States and people listen. What we should do is stop listening to him.”

Continuing to create a moral equivalency between Hamas and Israel, as Carter suggests, only encourages Hamas acts of terror, Dershowitz added, feeding right into their hands.

“They want to be in the same room as a well-respected democracy and on the same plain and it’s an invitation to Hamas to continue to do this and Jimmy Carter is going to have even more blood on his hands,” he said.

“The tragedy is that among some people in the world he’s respected and his word carries some weight and that shouldn’t be the case anymore than Bishop Tutu, both of whom have a big Jewish problem.

“Jimmy Carter goes back to the time he was running for governor. He has a long, long history of theological anti-Semitism coupled with virulent anti-Israelism. He never met a terrorist he didn’t like. He loved Yasser Arafat and he hated every Israeli leader he ever met.”

An update on the Epstein/Dershowitz controversy

For over a week now the story has come to a dead halt in the mainstream media — with the exception of Alan Dershowitz broadcasting his side of the story to the Wall Street Journal and other leading media outlets.

Certainly Dershowitz has a right to defend himself — and he may well have been falsely accused (which would be outrageous) — but the mainstream media have not lifted a finger to look into the stories of Jeffrey Epstein’s underage rape victims. So there seems to be a distinct agenda in play here — the mainstream media are hoping that the story will blow over and be forgotten, with no clear resolution concerning the facts about what really happened.

But the defamation suit by Paul Cassell and Bradley Edwards against Alan Dershowitz is still in play.

Following what is going on is simple with Google News and Twitter:

    Google News: https://www.google.com/search?q=alan+dershowitz&tbm=nws&tbs=sbd:1

    Twitter: https://twitter.com/search?q=dershowitz

Legitimate questions for Alan Dershowitz on the minds of many people: how did you come to be so deeply involved with Jeffrey Epstein? How much did you know about his operation? What role did you play in crafting the NPA (non-prosecution agreement)? Were you involved in defaming and intimidating witnesses?

There is one new story on the controversy:
