BADIL and Zochrot Speaking Tour: Centering the Nakba and the right of return

Addressing head-on the Nakba and the Palestinian right of return are integral to achieving justice for the Palestinian people.  Although the Nakba has been well-documented by Palestinian and other sources, in the US as well as the American Jewish community, the story of the Nakba and the dispossession of the Palestinian people from their homes are often disregarded or trivialized.

The Nakba Education Project (NEP) was created in the US to offer educational resources to US audiences about the Nakba and the implications for what is happening in Palestine/Israel today.  NEP is rooted in the work of Zochrot, an Israeli organization working to promote accountability for the ongoing injustices of the Nakba and to address head-on the right of return as imperative to achieving justice, and BADIL, a Palestinian organization devoted to protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees and internally displaced persons.

It is particularly meaningful that NEP and other groups committed to justice in Palestine/Israel are hosting a speaking tour for BADIL and Zochrot to make visible their work to US audiences and to ensure that the ongoing Nakba and the right of return for Palestinian refuges are at center of our conversations and activism.

The schedule for the speaking tour is below.
