  • 'You cannot be a democracy and not a state of all its citizens': Jamal Zahalka on what the rejection of the 'State of all its Citizens' bill means for Israel
    • He is of course correct. At this moment the 'jewish only' state is dead.
Fundamental demographic trends mean that israel can't have it all. It can't be a jewish state, a democratic state, and a state in control of its whole mythologial land.
It can only have two of its objectives at a time.
israel can be jewish and territorial -- but not democratic.
Or it can be democratic and territorial -- but not jewish.
Or finally, it can be jewish and democratic -- but not territorial.

The country does not belong to all of its citizens but to an ethnic group that enforces legal discrimination against non-members of the group. This is a political and religious system founded on the notion of ethnic supremacy like apartheid South Africa. It will not last.

The Palestinians will remain and continually remind israelis that their so called ‘homeland’, israel, is built on a Palestinian graveyards and was called Palestine.

  • Birthright walkout is met with vitriolic rage in Israel -- 'Radicals' 'You will get raped'
    • It’s past time for progressives, from anywhere, to clearly and unequivocally decide and declare which side they are on. It’s time for professedly humanitarian, egalitarian, pro-human rights, anti-racist, and free-speech progressives to express their support of the Palestinian struggle—on social media, in real-life conversation, and on the street.

My hat is off to these courageous folks, not just the former Birthrighters but to the Breaking the Silence folks as well. It take moral courage to stand up to these myopic Israeli idiots.

Anyone who doubts that Israel oppresses the indigenous Arab population should spend “just a few hours in Hebron,” a Palestinian city (known in Arabic as al-Khalil) in the occupied West Bank.

Videotapes recording illegal jewish settler squats throwing garbage on Hebron Palestinians does more to stereotype israel to the World than the claims of anti-Semites.

In Hebron, illegal Israeli settlers live in the middle of the city. Palestinians must travel on separate roads, which are patrolled by Israeli soldiers. They often walk under enormous nets that look like cages, and settlers drop objects — and even urinate — on them from their windows above.

In place of Jewish prophetic vision, Israel lives an Orwellian nightmare of double talk, racism, fifth-rate sociological jargon, aimed at proving its racial superiority to the indigenous people it aims to crush.

  • It's time for Tom Friedman to face the contradictions of liberal Zionism, and move on
    • The man is an idiot. Let's send him and every pimp for Israel in our US Congress the movie -
"The Occupation of the American Mind" - It’s time for progressive politicians to put Palestinian rights on the agenda, stop being bullied by AIPAC, and get with the program, or else they are going to lose the support of the constituents they need to get elected- if not today, then tomorrow.

      https://www.occupationmovie.org/

  • The Knesset officially declares that Israeli democracy is for Jews only
    • And there you have it folks - the village idiot has spoken. Oh I'm sorry delusional simpleton, what is the fastest growing religion? Islam. Don't look now but your 'jewish only' state will not last. The world's 7 largest religions and their number of believers are:
      Christianity (2.1 billion)
      Islam (1.3 billion)
      Nonreligious (Secular/Agnostic/Atheist) (1.1 billion)
      Hinduism (900 million)
      Chinese traditional religion (394 million)
      Buddhism 376 million.
      Primal-indigenous (300 million)

  • Don't expect Elizabeth Warren or Kamala Harris to be critical of Israel
    • The solution is simple - when an AIPAC endorsed candidate runs just spell out for the people in that district all the money we give to Israel that could be spent here at home. People understand dollars and cents. Make AIPAC and the people who run on a pro-Israel ticket defend giving 11 millions dollars plus a day to a 'vibrant democracy' when our own are going without. Spell it out for them and shame these pimps for Israel and theseAIPACers. It's long overdue.

It’s time for progressive politicians to put Palestinian rights on the agenda, stop being bullied by AIPAC, and get with the program, or else they are going to lose the support of the constituents they need to get elected- if not today, then tomorrow.

It’s past time for American progressives to clearly and unequivocally decide and declare which side they are on. It’s time for professedly humanitarian, egalitarian, pro-human rights, anti-racist, and free-speech progressives to express their support of the Palestinian struggle—on social media, in real-life conversation, and on the street.

Politically? At a minimum, demand of any politician who seeks your vote:
End the blockade of Gaza, immediately and unconditionally.
Support BDS. Refuse any attempt to criminalize BDS and anti-Zionism.
Stop blocking UN and ICC actions against Israeli crimes.
      Restrict arms sales to Israel.
      Reject the hypocritical Zionist apologetics.
Refuse any attempt to censor or restrict the internet. (This last is very important. Nothing has threatened Zionist impunity more than the information available on the internet, and nothing is driving the demand to censor the internet more than the Zionists’ need to shut that off.)

  • Knesset foils efforts to end Israeli apartheid
    • @Am Perspective
      Democracy for whom?
Israel is simultaneously running three systems of government.
The first is full democracy toward its Jewish citizens — ethnocracy.
The second is racial discrimination toward the Palestinian minority — creeping Jim Crowism.
The third is occupation of the Palestinian territories with one set of laws for Palestinians and another for Jewish settlers — apartheid.

Until every resident of the land over which Israel enforces control has equal rights and protections under the law it’s not a democracy.

In addition, the Jewish only state is dead.
Even more fundamentally, demographic trends mean that Israel can't have it all.

Jews are governed through a democratic system almost exclusively tailored for them, and Palestinians subsist under an Apartheid regime designed to keep them marginalized, occupied and oppressed. That is not 'democracy' no matter how much zionazi kool aid you drink.

  • By wrecking Iran deal, Trump politicized Israel
    • When the US and international community start applying pressure on the israelis to actually accept living in peace next to Palestine let me know. Until then all of their numerous proxy organizations on the ground are just producing anti-Palestinian/Islamophobic propaganda and I will treat it accordingly as the trash and sewage that it is.

israelis want to be treated like a normal decent human beings? Let them act like it first and end their barbarism against the Palestinians. Until then they deserve scorn, contempt, isolation and sanctions. Until then they aren’t entitled to even one iota of respect and will be treated accordingly as the trash and sewage that it is.

No person in any setting or for any reason should be compelled to associate with a citizen of a country that is brutally oppressing and dispossessing a people whom it is belligerently and illegally occupying. The Palestinians will remain and continually remind israelis that their so called ‘homeland’, israel, is built on a Palestinian graveyards.

  • Maybe Israel is interfering in our politics over the Iran Deal? Naaah!
    • If only, if only a 'journalist' would have the balls to stand up and ask the following - Israel is the only country in the Middle East that has nuclear weapons and has refused to sign the NNPT and consistently lies about their nuclear arsenal. Everyone knows it.

When is Israel going to sign the NNPT which Iran has already done?
When is Israel going to allow IAEA inspections which Iran has already done?

Israel can claim 'ambiguitiy' over nukes but Iran who publicly states 'we're not interested in nukes' can not?

And as long as Israel defends nuclear ambiguity as 'strategic advantage', Iran can also defend it's nuclear ambiguity as 'strategic advantage'. So leave Iran alone as long as you allow Israel to defend it's nuclear ambiguity as 'strategic advantage'.

If the US and Israel want Iranian nuclear transparency, then Israel better be just as transparent. What say you?

  • Netanyahu's cheap theatrics fall flat, but alas, he has an audience of one -- Trump
    • I wish US and MSM 'journalists' would stop being cowed by AIPAC and talk about Israeli nukes. Whatever Israel accuses Iran of doing, Israel has surely done it already. I'm so sick of the US protecting Israel.

If the US and Israel want Iranian nuclear transparency, then Israel better be just as transparent.

Israel's refusal to sign the NPT and be open about it's nuclear weaponry makes the US and Israel an open hypocrite when it and Israel rail against Irans nuclear development.

    • Caroline Glick, et.al. is vile and just the tip of the iceburg. Make no mistake, no one hates like a rabid, messianic, racist jew.

  • A brief, unhappy history of Israeli massacres
    • Don't forget Jack Teital. Teitel joins a long list including Baruch Goldstein, who gunned down 29 Muslim worshipers in Hebron’s Cave of the Patriarchs in 1994.

Eden Natan-Zada, who killed four Israeli Arabs in Shfaram ahead of the Gaza disengagement in 2005.

And the Bat Ayin Underground, which was caught after planting a massive bomb next to an Arab girls school in east Jerusalem in 2002.

Shin Bet arrested a number of Bat Ayin residents who were members of a Jewish underground cell that had planned to bomb Arab schools in East Jerusalem.

Don't forget the most recent serial killer terrorist Chaim Pearlman who along with buddies terrorized Palestinians for 12 years.

It’s also no coincidence that Shvut Rachel, where Teitel lived, was also the home of another settler terrorist, Asher Weissgan, who killed five Palestinian workers in 2005.

A close friend of Teitel’s in the settlement is Asher Richland, who was a close collaborator with Eden Natan-Zada, yet another settler serial-murderer.

  • Older Jews are officially terrified of young Jews' views of Israel
    • The next war that Israel initiates and incites ? All their next adversary has to do is obliterate their airport and port and Israel is done. Can’t wait to hear their victim mentality and hypocrisy, “Gee, what did we EVER do to deserve this?”, “Help, help – we need help – just look at what they did to us!”, “It’s the (fill in whatever group at the moment), it’s not our fault!”.

  • US smooths Israel's path to annexing West Bank
    • The exquisite irony is that Israel is so blinkered they won’t even recognise the single-state when it hits them in the face. Their 'jewish only' state is dead. Or it can be democratic and territorial -- but not Jewish.

Israel is converging on a strategic choice, withdraw to its 67 borders and remain “the Jewish state” or become a single-state with equal rights for all.

  • AIPAC is suddenly getting a lot of bad press, in Jewish papers and 'Washington Post'
    • The solution is simple – when an AIPAC endorsed Congress person rails against anyone not pro israel just spell it out for them, wherever that congressional idiot appears/speaks ask them about all the money we give to israel that could be spent here at home. It’s time for progressive politicians to put Palestinian rights on the agenda, stop being bullied by AIPAC, and get with the program, or else they are going to lose the support of the constituents they need to get elected- if not today, then tomorrow.

  • Educators need to denounce the smear tactics of Canary Mission
    • Every person who operates the Canary Mission website and those in their organization should be sued for defamation of character and their names made public on a website dedicated to those who try to smear and defame people who stand up for Human Rights and the Palestinians. if you're a racist the world should know it.

The Anti - Canary Mission website documents people and groups that promote hatred of the Palestinians and Islamaphobia on North American college campuses. The Anti - Canary Mission investigates hatred across the entire political spectrum, including the far right, far left and anti-Palestinian and jewish activists.

Every individual and organization has been carefully researched and sourced. If you appreciate the work of The Anti - Canary Mission, please help us continue to expose hatred by alerting us to any racist zionist activity and/or the suppression of free speech in support of Human Rights of the Palestinians on your college campus, or by donating.

  • Israeli lawfare organization sues BDS activists for advising Lorde to cancel Israel concert
    • @eljay - First, Justine Sachs and Nadia Abu-Shanab should sue for defamation and libel. Second, Palestinians by the hundreds should sue israel for the moral and emotional injury and the indignity caused by israels discriminatory actions.

As for those three poor israelis - wow what sensitive little flowers the apartheid state is raising - these kids are suing because they didn’t get the concert they wanted.

Palestinian children aren’t getting electricity for longer than a few hours. They aren’t getting to see their loved ones who are now in refugee camps. They aren’t getting to go to school because the gates are locked at the crossings points. They aren’t getting a good nights sleep because israeli soldiers like doing house searches at 2 am. They aren’t getting to see themselves grow up because israeli snipers like imprisoning and killing Palestinian kids.

We should all feel for these israeli kids who missed out on seeing a concert they had so been looking forward to? Oh hell no.

  • Lorde didn't bow to pressure, she rose to the occasion
    • Ah yes, it was only a matter of time for the smears to begin. First name calling, then the holocaust, then jew hater, then anti-semite, oops, don't forget Hamas – they always work that in somewhere - all predictable - all badges of honor for any normal person who values human rights.

Unable to defend Israeli action based on logical arguments, international law or common sense, Israel’s supporters use other means, threats, smears and vilification, and also by fabricating non-existing controversies.

      Good for Lorde. BDS!

  • Pop star 'Lorde' honors BDS call, cancels Tel Aviv concert
    • Wait, let me get this straight, Jews, all the time call for boycotting this and boycotting that and now Roseanne is call for a boycott but the rest of the world cannot boycott Israel?

Oh hell no. BDS even more.

  • The New York Times tries to make the Ahed Tamimi story go away
    • @canneloni - afraid of Muslims in Tel Aviv? You better get with the program.
Demographic trends mean that Israel can't have it all.

  • Neoconservatives may finally get their war with Iran, from Donald Trump
    • Maintaining a straight face, the United States with an AIPAC controlled government calls Iran “the primary state sponsor of terrorism”. This from a country bombing at least six nations.

Iran has not invaded another nation in over 200 years. The U.S. has been at war for at least 220 of its 241 year history. Let us now ask: What country is the primary state sponsor of terrorism?

Is it the one who is being threatened with ‘regime change’ by the country which is now bombing six other countries, and that has not invaded another country in over 200 years?

Or is it the one doing the bombing? Since logic and common sense tell us that it must be the one doing the bombing (the U.S.), we need to ask another question:why does the U.S. want to convince the world that Iran is exporting terrorism, when it itself is doing so and then turning around and asking - gee, why do Muslims hate us so much? Whatever did we do?

The answer has been stated before: the U.S. does not want any country in the Middle East to be powerful except apartheid Israel - all courtesy of israel and the israel lobby in Washington.

Iran is a power broker in that part of the world, so the U.S. must reduce it to ruins, if it possibly can, as it did with Iraq. However, Iran is not Iraq: it is far bigger, more heavily populated, and more powerful than Iraq ever was.

An invasion/bombing of Iran would be a disaster for the U.S., the Middle East and quite possibly, the entire world.

  • 'We don't want to pick a side,’ Nikki Haley says. But you just did
    • Haley is living in Israel's pseudo-reality, where bullies complain of being bullied to the detriment of US values. Her arrival at the UN has ignited a US-Israeli hate fest, not only targeting UN member states, but international law, and everything that the United Nations has stood for over the decades.

The US has supported Israel quite blindly at the UN throughout the years. Haley seems to adopt an entirely Israeli position with no regard whatsoever for her country's allies, or the possible repercussions of dismissing the only international body that still serves as a platform for international engagement and conflict resolution.

Haley seems to truly think of herself as the new sheriff in town, who will "kick 'em every single time," before ridding the bullies with bullets and riding into the sunset, along with Netanyahu. However, with a huge leadership vacuum and no law to guide the international community in resolving a 70-year-old conflict, Haley's cowboy tactics degrades US standing, leadership and even goes below the lowest standards of credibility practiced under previous administrations.

  • Dionne and Shields ignore the Adelson in the room
    • Shame on all the 'journalists' for being cowed by AIPAC et.al. I wish for once they would to their jobs. The one who owns you is the one you dare not criticize. Shame.

  • Trump just 'pushed the two-state solution over the cliff'
    • And for you Erekat and the Palestinians to get off the fence and do something, like pursue the ICC!

    • Come now Doris, it is the israelis that do not want to 'share' and guess what they will be getting? Years of BDS, bloodshed and violence because they cannot see fit to 'share'. The exquisite irony is that Israel and you are so blinkered you won’t even recognise the single-state when it hits you in the face.

  • Trump administration threatens to close Palestinians' office in Washington DC
    • Looks like they need a refresher in international law:

Reviewing a few facts of international law relating to occupation, and Israel’s blatant and constant violations of them, may be helpful:

Law: An occupying power must not move its own citizens permanently onto the occupied nation’s land. Temporarily housing soldiers on a short-term basis there to maintain peace and the safety of the occupied people is allowed.
Israeli violations: Israel has moved over half a million Israelis into the West Bank, and Israeli Prime Murderer Benjamin Netanyahu has stated categorically that not one of them will be removed.

Law: The people of the occupied lands must not be displaced permanently.
Israeli violations: Millions of Palestinians have been forced from their homes to make room for illegal Israeli settlers.

Law: The culture of the occupied land must be respected.
Israeli violations: Israel has done much to destroy and obliterate the culture of Palestine. The destruction of entire towns and villages, mosques and historical sites is ongoing. In one particularly egregious example, Israel bulldozed the ancient Ma’man Allah cemetery, dating at least to the 12th century and possibly earlier, and constructed a ‘Museum of Tolerance’ on the site.

Law: The occupying power must ensure the safety of the occupied peoples.
Israeli violations: Bombing the Gaza Strip, breaking into the homes of Palestinians in the West Bank at all hours of the day and night, arresting men, women and children without charge, shooting peaceful protesters in the back, cannot be seen as ensuring their safety, and protesting these atrocious crimes does not make one anti-Semitic.

  • 'Want to boycott Israel? Be my guest, there will be a pricetag' -- Israeli official warns Europe
    • “It’s an issue of hate and prejudice,” - yes, it's an issue when done to the Israelis but perfectly fine and justified when done to the Palestinians.

  • Antisemitism bill hearing reflects disagreement in Jewish community over dual loyalty
    • The one who owns you is the one you dare not criticize. Videotapes recording Jewish settlers throwing garbage on Hebron Palestinians does more to stereotype Israel to the World than the claims of the most hateful anti-Semites.

With regard to Israel, the US Congress is united. Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers often act in ways contrary to the interests of their own country, just to appease the Israeli government. This is no secret.

However, the real danger is that such laws go beyond the traditional blind allegiance to Israel – into a whole level of acquiesce, where the government punishes people and organizations for the choices they make, the values they hold dear or the mere inquiry of information about an issue that they may find compelling.

The ‘Israel Anti-Boycott Act’ and now this one 'Anti-Semitism Awareness Act", are the most egregious because they strike down the First Amendment, the very foundation of American democracy, by using America’s own lawmakers to carry out the terrible deed.

We are supposed to be protected by our First Amendment right to free speech and freedom of expression. We cannot allow Zionists, be they Democrats or Republicans, to abrogate our constitutional rights and further shield Israel from accountability.

Furthermore, every Congress member who signs onto this bill is sacrificing the rights of their own constituents and all Americans to the interests of a foreign government. This is the height of disloyalty – and a measure of just how much power AIPAC has. Every one of them should be removed from office.

Everyone is in a tizzy about Russia interference when Israel has interfered more in US politics than any other country?

Now, this? As a US citizen I’m going to be arrested for telling the truth about Israel? Oh hell no.

  • Prince Charles decried White House's failure to take on 'Jewish lobby' over Israel
    • Well said.

And all those 'professional' people you refer to - you can read their minds, be in on their conversations, their thoughts and actions. Wow, please send me numbers for the lottery. Clearly you have the inside track on all those 'professionals'.

    • Gee, if there really were no "tropes about Jewish wealth and influence" then there would not be the usual crying and whining about it from the Jews. We all know they hold influence over the MSM, Hollywood and most shamefully our Government. Good for Prince Charles.

Jewish people are not better off because of Israel, and there is not less anti-Semitism. Israel not only drives global terror it drives anti-Semitism which is on the rise globally in tandem with Israel’s inhumane policies.

It’s not anti-semitism for criticizing Israel or their policies telling people the apartheid Occupation is immoral and inhumane.

On and on and on the crafted diversion goes and long has, fleeing the very public reality of Israel’s enduring inhumanity to millions of stateless people.

  • Jewish leaders seek to shut down anti-occupation movie in MA because it 'sniffs of Nazism'
    • Thank you Phil for yet another wonderful article. Am going to watch and then share with everyone I know.

I guess then, that they, the protesters of this important and ground breaking film, are unaware that Israel has continued the draconian measures of British colonial rule. In the early 1950s, Menachem Begin, leader of the pre-state Irgun militia and a future Israeli prime minister, famously called Britain’s emergency regulations “Nazi laws”.

Nonetheless, they were incorporated into the military orders Israel uses against Palestinians under occupation. Significantly, the regulations are also still in force inside Israel against the country’s large minority of Palestinian citizens, one in five of the population. Israel has yet to end its seven-decade state of emergency. How’s that for Nazi again?

  • Rachel Maddow's lineup of crazy U.N. speeches spotlights Arafat-- and leaves out Netanyahu!
    • Maddow is a shill and a hack for AIPAC. Nary a word about illegal settler squat terrorism, the Occupation, Apartheid or crimes against humanity in respect to the Palestinians. Look no further than her to abrogate anything regarding justice for the Palestinians. She actually thinks she is a 'journalist'. Sad commentary and shame on her although I doubt she would even care, it's all about pleasing her jewish bosses.

  • New York TV stations smear Roger Waters-- who praises BDS as 'one of most admirable pieces of resistance world has seen'
    • " this individual said, There are no such thing as Palestinians." Then what are they protesting for? It would make BDS a moot point. This alone highlights the idiocy of these ignorant fanatics.

The definition of “Palestinian” in the Oxford English:
adjective: “relating to Palestine or its peoples”.
noun: “a member of the native Arab population of the region of Palestine”.
      Native Arab = Indigenous people

I'm surprised they didn't dredge up more ridiculous rhetoric including the classics like “A land without a people, for a people without a land “ My favorite: “There was never a -state- called Palestine” – they stick the word ‘state’ in there like it proves their worthless point.

This one is especially entertaining, it clashes so wonderfully with other Israeli talking points. In the end it amounts to “We are under existential threat from the people who don’t exist.”

And I don"t watch Maddow anymore, she just another MSM Israeli shill and hack for AIPAC. Shame on her.

    • @ Ossinev - it is because ordinary US citizens - and i may be reaching because more and more people are reading websites like Mondoweiss - are not being informed about hegemonic israeli politics that infiltrate our own democracy and congress and what a shameful sham that it is. Debates if at all get deflected and side tracked - actually there are no debates to be side tracked, they virtually don't exist. However, i stand by my earlier posting. It is up to you, friend, to decide for yourself.

    • @ossinev - i would suggest reading the Walt and Mearsheimer book "The Israel Lobby", that will give you insight into our congressional sychophancy to AIPAC and how much they dictact foreign policy to our government. truly shameful. then i would google and find out just how much of our main stream media is owned and operated by jews who either dictate what and what cannot be reported or how the presenters have to adhere to what 'management' wants them to report - note - nothing of the Occupation, illegal settlement, etc.

congress is a Zionist puppet, they know it well, to learn who rules over you, simply look at who you are not allowed to criticize.

israel is the pimp in america and the rest of those controlled by it are just for lack of a better word, whores.

    • The day American politicians feel they don’t have to bow to AIPAC - that they don’t have to support Israel and provide Israel with a blank check every year– that will be the day that things change.

The U.S. is in a better position than any other nation, or combination of nations, to change Israeli policies. By simply tying a few strings to the $3.8 billion dollars that it sends to Israel annually, Palestine could exist as a free, independent and peaceful nation.

The U.S. would be less hated throughout the world, and the powder keg known as the Middle East would be diffused. Those strings would only follow the model that AIPAC uses with Congress: vote as we demand, or the money river will flow to your opponent in the next election.

  • Arab League and Palestinian Authority to block Israeli bid for UN Security Council seat
    • If Israel is withholding their payments to the UN or any other international body then they should be denied a seat at the table, any table. I'm so over their sneaky, machiavallian machinations.

When the US and international community start applying pressure on the israelis to actually accept living in peace next to Palestine let me know. Until then all of their numerous proxy organizations on the ground are just producing anti-Palestinian/Islamophobic propaganda.

Israelis want to be treated like a normal decent human beings? Let them act like it first and end their barbarism against the Palestinians. Until then they deserve scorn, contempt, isolation and sanctions. Until then they aren’t entitled to even one iota of respect and should be treated accordingly.

The Palestinians will remain and prevail - I hope - and remind the Israelis that their homeland, Israel, is built on a graveyard.

  • Two Chicago pols break over BDS, as U.S. Jews divide over Israel
    • It is high time for this - the solution is simple - when an AIPAC endorsed candidate runs just spell out for the people, wherever that candidate appears all the money we give to Israel that could be spend here at home. People understand dollars and cents. Make AIPAC and the people who run on a pro-Israel ticket defend giving 11 millions dollars a day to a 'vibrant faux democracy' when our own are going without. Spell it out for them and shame these Israel firsters/AIPACers. It's long overdue.

  • State Department says committing to two-states is 'bias' as Kushner is sent to broker peace
    • It is a matter of record that Mahmoud Abbas participated in 20 + years of direct negotiations with seven Israeli governments; all without a settlement freeze.

In which time the settlements and their associated infrastructure grew exponentially. What are Kushner and his cohorts suggesting, that Abbas sit down for another 20 + years of negotiation while Israel continues it's apartheid rampage? That Israel, again, uses negotiations as a cover for settlement activities He has wised up to the problems of his previous approach. More power to him.

Israel continues to undermine the very credibility to the Middle East peace process, making a mockery of existing agreements and sabotaging all prospects for a return to genuine negotiations.

Just wait for the list of 'pre conditions' Nutty will say prevents a Palestinian state since the Palestinians would never agree to them.

  • Pressure builds on Booker, Gillibrand to get to Yes on Israel Anti-Boycott Act (for sake of 2020)
    • " Pro-Israel money is critical to any run for president. " Bernie didn't need it. The solution is simple - when an AIPAC endorsed candidate runs just spell out for the people in that district all the money we give to Israel that could be spend here at home. People understand dollars and cents. Make AIPAC and the people who run on a pro-Israel ticket defend giving 11 millions dollars a day to a 'vibrant democracy' when our own are going without. Spell it out for them and shame these AIPACers. It's long overdue.

  • 'I will not be bullied, intimidated threatened over my unshakeable support for Palestinian liberation' -- Linda Sarsour
    • "I will not be harassed, intimidated, bullied, smeared and/or threatened in to changing my convictions and things I hold dear to me. " If only those words could be uttered by our Congress people when AIPAC comes a-calling.

  • Crossing AIPAC leaves writers smeared, politicians' careers 'suddenly stalled' -- Sullivan
    • Memo to Schumer and the rest of our "Congress" - Your loyalties lie with israel, you’re free to leave the States; just surrender your US citizenship at the border. No man can serve two masters.

A patriot will never sells his freedom at any price. A sucker – what they call a “fraier” in israel — sells it cheap. Again, no man can serve to masters. Are you an American or an israeli? If you are an israeli, move there.

    • "Saudia may be obnoxious, but it simply has not hurt the USA in the way Israel has." Quite right. Whatever its shortcomings, Saudia Arabia is not occupying anyone's land and trying to ethnically cleanse the land of it's indigenous people. That is the difference.

The day American politicians feel they don’t have to bow to AIPAC - that they don’t have to support Israel and provide Israel with a blank check every year– that will be the day that things change.

This bill – which has enough co-sponsors to pass the House – would criminalize the entire Green Party, which has long endorsed the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement. Criminalizing a rival party is the worst case scenario of a free-speech violation, a direct attack on democracy itself.

Furthermore, every Congress member who signed on to this bill is sacrificing the rights of their own constituents and all Americans to the interests of a foreign government. This is the height of disloyalty – and a measure of just how much power AIPAC has. Every one of them should be removed from office.

All new House members have to sign a loyalty oath to Israel. That in itself should tell you something. As for me ? Now, this? As a citizen of the US I’m going to be arrested for telling the truth about Israel?

  • Schumer and Macron equate anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism so as to target BDS
    • Memo to Schumer - If your loyalties lie with Israel, you’re free to leave the States; just surrender your US citizenship at the border. No man can serve two masters.

You have a choice along with your friends, AIPAC, WINEP, et. al. and all the other Israel firsters in Congress. You love Israel so much, go there and stay there. Otherwise your pursuit of a greater Israel will end this way - demographic trends mean that Israel can't have it all -

It can't be a Jewish state, a democratic state, and a state in control of its whole historical land.

It can only have two of its objectives at a time.
Israel can be Jewish and territorial -- but not democratic.
Or it can be democratic and territorial -- but not Jewish.
Or finally, it can be Jewish and democratic -- but not territorial.

  • 'You are thieves of history!' Hotovely tells Palestinians, waving books at them
    • Good point - aren't the 'Arabs" she is ranting to Palestinian? If Palestinians don't exist then who is she talking too? These people are so desperate - it's 2017 - when is this crap going to end.
These arguments and slogans have become clichés and inside jokes, the classics include:

      “Israel made the desert bloom”

      “A land without a people, for a people without a land “

Or my favorite: “There was never a state called Palestine” – they stick the word ‘state’ in there like it proves their worthless point.

This last one I find especially entertaining, it clashes so wonderfully with other Israeli talking points. In the end it amounts to “We are under existential threat from the people who don’t exist.”

  • Israel slams UNESCO World Heritage decision on Hebron as Palestinians celebrate 12-3 vote in favor
    • Do you mean how Israel ignores and denies ANYTHING that has to do with Palestine and the Palestinians?

My favorite is the classic : “There was never a state called Palestine” – they stick the word ‘state’ in there like it proves their worthless point.

I find this one especially entertaining and hilarious. In the end it amounts to “We are under existential threat from the people who don’t exist.”

    • Oh silly me, I get it now; Palestinians only have those rights which do not conflict with the “right” that Israeli Jews have to take/control what they think is theirs.

The face of the Zionist entity is worth watching – the face of an entitled bully surprised by the absence of obeisance.

I think I'll grab a bottle of wine, a bag of popcorn, a nice comfy deck chair and enjoy the sh*t show that is Israel to come.

  • In war against 'cell phones,' Israeli launches social media app
    • BDS is growing here in the US no matter what apartheid Israel tried to pull. Anything with a barcode that begins 729 is illegal settler squatter goods. BDS!

  • I was born ideologically, politically, and spiritually in June 1967 -- settler/ambassador Dani Dayan
    • I loved it when she pointed out that he was born in Argentina, was from the Ukraine but felt he had more of a right to be in her country. Very good insight into the mind of these messianic, racist settlers.

    • This man lives in denial and truly thinks Israels failed apartheid policies will prevail. A good debate in London. The Palestinian woman who speaks clearly makes him uncomfortable.
No wonder Venezuela rejected him and shame on those who made him Consul General in New York.

Head to Head - Israeli settlers: Patriots or invaders?

  • After exciting disruptions, David Friedman hearing is a walk in the park
    • You do the math.

    • Congress is considering this nomination of a hardcore pro-settlement lunatic to be the U.S. ambassador to Israel. Five ambassadors, former ambassadors to Israel, of both parties, came out and opposed him on the grounds that he’s essentially insane.

Softball questions from them all, no mention of the Occupation, illegal settler terrorism, apartheid or human rights. All the 20th century rhetoric came to the fore, Israel is the victim, Palestinians bad, Jews good. It was shameful, embarrassing. And the stooges sitting behind Friedman looked like AIPAC monitors, just like Scientologists making sure he said stayed on point and did not deviate.

It is not the responsibility of the the Palestinians any other Arab state or any other country or entity to recognize Israel as a Jewish state. They have recognized Israel's right to exist and that is sufficient.

Israel's survival in incumbent upon it maintaining a facade of being the victim in the conflict and Occupation and Friedman and our pathetic Congress does nothing to dispel that.

A tiny country the size of Bakersfield Cal that’s 6,000 miles away controls the most powerful nation in the world. Pathetic.

  • Mock campaign supporting two-state solution reveals liberal Israeli racism
    • Hilarious - The agreement with the Palestinians will be based on the principle of “two states for two peoples” and the 1967 line with "arrangements and adjustments as dictated by Israel’s security and demographic needs."

Of course, no mention of security for the Palestinians from the illegal settler squats who will not stop their fanatical, messianic rampage for sure.

Silly me, I get it now; Palestinians only have those rights which do not conflict with the “right” that Israeli Jews had to steal most of their land.

Oh my yes, Israels definition of “peace” means Jewish supremacism and a religion-supremacist “Jewish State” in as much as possible of Palestine.

Most certainly Israel would want peace…once it is done ethnically cleansing all of Palestine.

I think I'll grab a bottle of wine, a bag of popcorn and a deck chair and enjoy the sh*t show that is Israel to come.

  • Breaking: UN Security Council passes historic resolution against settlements as two-state solution 'slips away'
    • Annie, Annie, Annie ! I follow your and Phil's and Adam's posts and articles with alacrity. I watched the news and was jumping up and down with joy.

FINALLY. The tide is turning and there is no going back, Trump or no Trump. Trump is Bush to Nothingyahoo Cheney.

To the backlash in Congress that is sure to begin - if your loyalties lie with Israel, you’re free to leave the States; just surrender your US citizenship at the border. No man can serve two masters.

AIPAC called the Obama administration's decision "deeply disturbing." Really ? Karma is a bitch -hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

  • General under consideration by Trump for Defense has slammed Israel for impending 'apartheid'
    • Israel needs to be slammed for apartheid and the Occupation. “Anti-semite” has lost its sting, because every justified criticism of the Zionist Israeli government is declared to be anti-semitism. The word is so overused and misapplied as to be useless. Indeed, to be declared “anti-semite” by the Israel or the Israel Lobby is to be declared a person of high moral conscience.

U.S. in all the endless TV coverage and “expert” talking heads does not address the major issue, that is, the problem is not just one of police resources, intelligence failures or flawed immigration laws, but foreign policy.

As for ISIS or insert whatever “terrorist” group you want here - here we are again wondering, gee, why do they hate us so much? Right now we are a bunch of idiots lying to ourselves thinking that our foreign policy has NOTHING to do with what happens in a “terror” attack. Bullshit.

Like our own actions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, etc. and our unending, blinding, sycophantic support of apartheid Israel has nothing to do with what happens to us. We’re morally vacant, and opportunistically so. It all goes hand in hand.

Isis and its unhinged supporters in the U.S. and around the world have managed to bring at least a taste to Americans the terrible carnage that has been going on in the Greater Middle East for the past decades: markets and schools and public buildings blown apart, a region where people—some “guilty, some innocent and “collateral damage” meet death in their homes on a daily basis.

Until the leaders and opinion makers and talking heads in the U.S., and other countries and their allies, are willing to recognize the extent to which their own massive intervention in the Greater Middle East is also responsible for the terrible situation we find ourselves in today–then, this long, downward spiral to God knows where will only continue its bloody way.

  • Saban urged Clinton campaign to do negative research on Jeremy Ben-Ami re Israel
    • This is disgusting and hypocritical of Shillary as she shrieks about how Russia is trying to 'influence' the election outcome.

U.S. policy couldn’t be more pro-Israel than it is now ? Wait until Shillary gets there. Haim Saban pledged to spend “as much as necessary” to make her President. Shillary has pledged to invite Nothingyahoo to the While House in her first month as President, to use the occasion to “reaffirm the unbreakable bonds of friendship and unity” between America and Israel, and to do everything to destroy the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) movement.

She continues to echo Israeli denunciations of Iran as a dangerous “terrorist state” and equate criticism of Israeli policies with “anti-Semitism” while blaming the people of Gaza for Israeli assaults on their wretched territory.

Our Congress, our government and out soon to be criminal Shillary are bought and paid for by the Israel lobby, AIPAC, WINEP, etc. No one, let me repeat, no one get their hands as deep
into the American pocket and government as Israelis have been for the past 60 years.
Sheldon Adelson and Haim Saban are just two shining examples.

As Secretary of State and as a member of the Quartet Shillary did nothing of substance for solving the I/P issue. Not to mention being a whore for AIPAC/Israel Lobby.

Demonstrating once again the sniveling and shameless fealty to the wealthy that she and her husband have elevated to a high art over the last 30 years. Ugh. Get rid of her.

  • Black Lives Matter will defeat the Israel lobby (because the lobby can't debate reality)
    • “We appreciate these points because the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is deeply committed to addressing many of these issues, too…except, of course, the Palestinian ones and the Occupation”. What a bunch of hypocritical racists. GO BLM GO !!!!!

  • Clinton to Palestine: Drop dead
    • The next war that Israel initiates and incites ? All their next adversary has to do is obliterate their airport and port and Israel is done. Can't wait to hear their victim mentality and hypocrisy, "Gee, what did we EVER do to deserve this?", "Help, help - we need help - just look at what they did to us!", "It's the (fill in whatever group at the moment), it's not our fault!".

Oh the anger. The anger at finding out that you're not as important as you think you are.

    • Of course the Hilbots on the Dem Platform Committee were not going to let Bernie Sanders get ANY say in the forming of the platform. Disgusting. However, the voices for Palestine are getting to loud to ignore.

As a lawyer and former Sec. of State it looks like Hillary needs a refresher in international law:

Reviewing a few facts of international law relating to the Occupation, and Israel’s blatant and constant violations of them, may be helpful:

Please define exactly what the US “national interest” is with Israel.

Why is ineffectual resistance to brutal occupation considered terrorism, yet the occupation itself, which takes a horrific toll on all Palestinians on a daily basis, considered acceptable?

By totally erasing any nod, any mention, any compassion toward the slaughter of Palestinian children, women and men in their homes, schools and hospitals, Hillary Clinton makes a mockery of her touted Methodist upbringing and her declared concern for children everywhere.

The woman is a sociopathic, narcissist menace to US society. As a life long Dem I refuse to vote for her.

  • Democratic establishment wants to make Palestinians go poof in platform
  • Front-page play for Israel battle shows that Israel has lost the Democratic Party base

  • Sanders appoints Palestine advocates to committee drafting Democrat's 2016 platform
    • Oh my, poor hopi - ok - then let's take religion out of it.

Israel is simultaneously running three systems of government.
The first is full democracy toward its Jewish citizens — ethnocracy.
The second is racial discrimination toward the Palestinian minority — creeping Jim Crowism. And the third is occupation of the Palestinian territories with one set of laws for Palestinians and another for Jewish settlers — apartheid.

Israel, and you, are forgetting that its continued denial of freedom to the Palestinians and its continued racist, apartheid regime are the very essence of the issue.

As to the end of the state of Israel? Demographic trends mean that Israel can't have it all.

Israel has painted themselves into a corner, surrounded by states that loathe them. Their hubris, arrogance and sense of entitlement based on the ridiculous credo of "God's chosen people", has left them an apartheid state, discredited, unmasked, de-legitimized, scorned, reduced to a diplomatic dwarf, maniacally messianic fanatics, laughed at and alienated from the rest of the international community.

  • Hillary Clinton supported Iraq war because of Israel, say Matthews and Landler
    • Big Bad Palestine is treating itty bitty tiny Israel badly.
One struggles to keep one’s stomach settled when reading such drivel from Bill.
Please answer these questions Bill on behalf of your "wife".

Where is the demand that Israel renounce violence and recognize Palestine?

Please define exactly what the US “national interest” is with Israel.

Why is ineffectual resistance to brutal occupation considered terrorism, yet the occupation itself, which takes a horrific toll on all Palestinians on a daily basis, considered acceptable?

By totally erasing any nod, any mention, any compassion toward the slaughter of Palestinian children, women and men in their homes, schools and hospitals, Hillary Clinton makes a mockery of her touted Methodist upbringing and her declared concern for children everywhere.

With all her self-regarded experience in foreign affairs she continually backs state terrorism against millions of Arab Palestinians trapped in two enclaves, surrounded by walls, military outposts, and suffering from deep poverty, including widespread diseases and severe anemia among Palestinian infants and children.

Hillary has shown little understanding that her work as Secretary of State was a catastrophe for the Middle East. Her public statements seem to be a combination of mendacity, compartmentalization, and ignorance.

As a member of the Quartet she did nothing of substance for solving the I/P issue. Not to mention being a whore for AIPAC/Israel Lobby. She has also pleased her financiers. She has again vowed to strengthen U.S.-Israel ties, fight BDS (Boycott, Divest and Sanction), and strengthen the Israeli military machine. The woman is a sociopathic, narcissist menace to US society.

  • 'NYT' touts an Israel apologist's book
    • Another great response. To bad you can't respond directly to his face. He and they always seem so smug. It beggers the mind that these fools just don't get it and shows just how myopic and stupid they all are, especially the NYTs.

    • This is a great question. so succinct. Thank you.

  • Clinton propagates false understanding of Camp David
    • Please, someone, anyone educate Hillary, if that is possible :
Israeli leaders have rejected every Palestinian proposal for ceasefire or peace, blindly pursuing the Zionist policy of ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people from their homeland in collusion, and bias with the US for 60 years. The Camp David offer? It is no surprise this history was also rewritten to shed Palestinians in a negative light.

It should first be noted that Palestinians have conceded their claim to 78% of historical Palestine, and agreed to form a new state on the remaining 22%, which is comprised of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
      • Israel proposed that 69 settlements, populated by 85% of West Bank settlers would be annexed by Israel. These settlements would reduce the Palestinian state by 10%, not to mention severely disrupt travel and daily life in the West Bank.
      • Israel proposed “temporary control” of yet another 10% of land that housed the most extreme of settlers. Essentially this means that a foreign power would control the land of another sovereign nation.
      • The remaining areas would be broken up by Israeli bypass roads and checkpoints, forcing Palestinians to live on bantustans or reservations (like South Africans or Native Americans), in a non-contiguous state.
      • Palestinians were also expected to relinquish land considered most essential for trade and tourism.
      • Israel would maintain very vital controls over Palestinian water, Palestinian borders, and Palestinian airspace.

Anyone in their right minds would not have accepted such a ridiculous proposal that would continue to force millions of people to live as slaves.

  • Israel demands correction from Sanders: it killed only 532 Palestinian children in summer 2014
    • Oh my god. I had to wipe the tears from my eyes from laughing so hard over these bloviating blowhards the ADL and Wapo not to mention that scumbag Oren's ridiculous lunacy" - The continued efforts by these idiots are getting tiresome and becoming white noise. No one believes Israel anymore and the old victim rhetoric for Israel apologists doesn't work anymore. That's the reality.

“We cannot interfere in the internal elections of the United States" - this one is particularly hilarious. Please someone email them with these words - AIPAC / JINSA/ WINEP/ ADL/ PNAC/ AEI and Netanyahu/Miami/Romney and Rubio/Adelson and Hillary/Haim Saban and that's just for starters - when the Israel Lobby leaves the US government alone then maybe the truth and facts about Israel will finally be put into perspective.

"but when there is libelous misinformation being spread against Israel, we need to react and stand firm on the truth and the facts.” - because AIPAC/ JINSA/ WINEP/ ADL/ PNAC/ AEI will surely set us, the people of the US, straight right ? These people are delusional acting like none of here can read, disseminate information or Google.

Here's what Bernie should do - define the money AIPAC has given Hillary and tie it directly to what we give to Israel that could be spent here at home. People understand dollars and cents. Make her and her pro-Israel people defend giving 10 millions dollars a day to a 'vibrant democracy' when our own are going without. Spell it out for them - for the record, Israel is an economic, technological and military powerhouse that provides Israelis with universal health insurance, free education and other social safety nets that are denied the American people payed for by the largess of the US taxpayer. Their heads will then surely explode.

  • Bernie Sanders' record on Palestine
    • Please, let us take a moment to give Bernie some credit for bringing or maybe pushing this issue into at least the semi-mainstream. How often has a presidential candidate uttered the words Palestinian or Occupation? His stance may be lukewarm to some but for others a breath of much needed fresh air. It is about time and long overdue.

Every article written anywhere gives us the chance to rebut the hasbara, red herrings, accusations, attempted smears and lies that have been fomented for decades. Even if he does not make the nomination, and I hope he does, he has pushed this forward in a positive way and my hat is off to him for that.

  • Trump 'has no business being president' because he would be 'neutral' to Israel -- Clinton tells AIPAC
  • As Trump takes on the neocons, Kristol likens him to Hitler
    • Yitzhak Rabin, Anwar Sadat, Mikhail Gorbachev, F.W. de Klerk, and many others came to recognize the new realities but Nuttinyahoo ? He is an aging out of touch has-been in 2016, the 21st century, still clinging to the idiot tenant that he and his failed, apartheid policies will prevail. Nutty was a mess the first time around and he has confirmed he has been a mess for the rest of his time in office.

His vision of peace? Go back to his Newsweek interview April 20, 1998.
“At the end of the final settlement, the Palestinians would have their own territory and the ability to govern themselves, but none of the powers that could threaten Israel.” Nothing, nothing has changed.

He has painted himself and Israel into a corner, surrounded by states that loathe both of them. Their hubris, arrogance and sense of entitlement based on the ridiculous credo of "God's chosen people", has left them discredited, unmasked, de-legitimized, scorned, reduced to a diplomatic dwarf, maniacally messianic fanatics, laughed at and alienated from the rest of the international community. THAT will be his well deserved legacy. THAT is why he is despised.

  • Obama to sign AIPAC-promoted trade bill that legitimizes Israeli occupation and fights BDS
    • Many thanks Annie, duly noted. It's just so frustrating, he had eight years, EIGHT YEARS to do something, anything. You would think that he would get some balls and tie this new negotiation for aid to Israel with settlement building but, to me, he is such a coward. Your points are all well taken however and I have appreciated all of your postings over the years .

    • And don't forget, last night per the debate Shrillary said she wanted to uphold and continue Obama's policies which will no doubt include blinding, unquestioned support for apartheid Israel. She will set the US back 20+ years in Middle East policy no doubt.

Make no mistake Shillary is whore for AIPAC - doin' it for Jewish money - with her "I'll call Netanyahoo the first week I'm in office" crap. She will be an Israel firster and do nothing for the Palestinians and just perpetuate the Occupation. The issue has even percolated into American presidential politics: in a letter to mega donor Haim Saban, an Israeli-American businessman, she pledged to “make countering BDS a priority.” She is shameless and someone, somewhere should confront her with this.

Pathetic isn't it? It is sad indeed that the first African-American President of the United States defends in Israel exactly the kind of institutionalized bigotry, apartheid oppression, and racism in Israel the civil rights movement defeated in this country, a victory that made his election possible. You align yourself with garbage and you end up being garbage.

  • The Kissinger friendship: Clinton called 'Henry' to intercede with 'Bibi'
    • And don't forget, she was part of the "Quartet" who did jack crap about Israel and the illegal settlements, although they were often " deeply troubling", "greatly concerned" and "alarmed" . Yea, right. She did about as much for Palestine as Condi Rice and Dennis Ross, a big fat nothing. I hope she doesn't end up as the nominee. God help us all.

  • Dennis Ross says Clinton was the only president to stamp down anti-Israel forces inside the White House
    • I hope the author was being sarcastic: "... with pivotal roles in the Israel-Palestinian “peace process” since the earliest days of the Madrid and Oslo talks. " Really ? I guess he was so "pivotal" that that is the reason there is peace now between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
      No, you say?

Yea, how about Dennis Ross? This cheese whiz has based his has been career on 'negotiating' for 30 years with no productive results to his name, the best Israeli lawyer AIPAC dollars could buy in the US goverment. Someone should have stood up and shouted "it is the occupation stupid, and you know it."

Listening to his double talk, spinning, and distorted, idiotic reasoning it's no wonder he left the Middle East in worse shape that when he started. And the guys is actually proud on his non-accomplishments. A lightening rod into the warped mentality of apartheid Israel. And he's running around teaching that shit too. I can't even stand to look at a picture of this loser, the guy makes my fingernails curl with rage.

  • 'Netanyahu at War' on PBS was dreadful but not without interest
    • Thank for this article. This is what I sent Frontline :

Thank you for the hypocritical slanted view of the Netanyahu " documentary ". You dredged up the same old, aging cast of characters with little to no women or Palestinian input. You only mentioned the Occupation and AIPAC once. Bravo - you have prevented me from wasting my money and contributing to PBS for the year. Thanks.

Michael Oren - who has repeatedly insulted Obama - he is an Israel firster > AIPAC > Likudite

Martin Indyk - Israel firster > AIPAC > Likudite

And the creme de la creme cheez whiz - Dennis Ross - This cheese whiz who 'negotiated' for 30 years with no productive results to his name, the best Israeli lawyer AIPAC dollars could buy in the US government also an Israel firster > AIPAC > Likudite

Some feedback for your viewing pleasure although I doubt this will get very far:

To watch this documentary one would also think that America was a majority Jewish male population that carried two passports instead of a mixed gender population constituting 2% of the America’s demographic. Bibi Netanyahu carried a US and Israeli passport in his youth.

Michael Oren, former Israeli ambassador to the US was born in America and went to Princeton. Martin Indyk was an Australlian national two weeks before he was granted US citizenship/ made American Ambassador to Israel. Obama’s chief of staff and his senior advisor were both Jewish.

Three members of Netanyahu’s former political team respond to questions in a flawless American accent- not a coincidence, since they were all born in the United States.

The American political perspective is offered by Jewish males Marvin Kalb, Jeffry Goldberg, and Peter Beinart.

In its framing of events the documentary ironically captures the male Washington DC/ New York City male world that determines US/ Israeli policy: women, Palestinians, all non male goyim need not apply to participate.

  • National Public Radio annexes West Bank to Israel
  • Israeli nukes are finally newsworthy-- as US gov't both releases and gags info
    • Israel and the AIPAC driven fear mongering that is allowed to happen in the US media are the ones trumpeting the so called Iran threat.

Iran is not threat to the US. The Iran issue is 100% Israeli created.

When Iranian nukes are mentioned the double standard with Israel should be immedietly pointed out.I

Unlike Iran, Israel simply has way too much to hide and wants to keep it that way.

Silence about Israelis nuclear weapons and lack of membership to the NPT while maintaining such harsh rhetoric towards Iran’s nuclear program, which is legally allowed to enrich uranium as a NPT member is an example of the kind of outright double standard BS that the United States has been following in its foreign policy.

When will Obama hold Israel to the same standards that Israel is demanding of Iran and anyone else who threatens Israel’s hegemonic agenda? Level the nuclear playing field or get rid of it.

It is in line with Israeli rhetoric to demonize Iran. It takes the focus off them and it’s their intention to agitate elsewhere so the world does not focus on their ulterior hegemonic motives.

Let’s not forget, whatever Israel accuses another country of doing you can bet they themselves have already done it.

To wit, Mordecai Vanunu provided info and photos to the London Sunday Times in 1986 about Dimona.

During the Kennedy years,Israel allowed American nuke scientists to make ‘visits’ to Dimona but these proved to be so ineffective they were eventually discontinued.

When the scientists were allowed into the plant they were rushed through and never allowed to see what they needed to see to confirm that Israel was not developing nuclear weapons.

Of course, a full inspection of the Dimona plant would have revealed that this was exactly what Israel was doing.

Tel Aviv needs to be dealt with before Tehran.

    • And they say Jews don't run Hollywood or the MSM. What a load of crap. Bardem and Cruz will be just fine. They will work in Spain and Europe and continue their spectacular careers. They should be lauded for speaking out.

As for Haim Saban - he needs the following memo given to him about Israel's "democracy" - Israel is simultaneously running three systems of government.

Israel, and you Haim, are forgetting that its continued denial of freedom to the Palestinians and its continued racist, apartheid regime are the very essence of the issue. For Palestinians the list is endless and growing, particularly with each growing settlement, every home demolition, every land confiscation, every eviction and each day that passes that a brutal siege is imposed on the Gaza Strip or that Palestinian refugees are not allowed to return to their homes simply because they are not Jewish. You gotta work with what you have. Logically and morally, if one is an Israel supporter, like you Haim, that‘s not much.

  • How many 'Palestinian Arabs' want to kill 'all Jews?'
    • I think the bigger question that should be counter-posed is how many Jews want to kill Palestinians ? The kill ratio is 10 Palestinians to 1 Jew. The illegal settler squats go after Palestinians everyday not to mention the night raid and detentions that occur every day and night. Someone ought to rebuttal this idiotic and erroneous statement of Pamela Paul's with the facts.

      - The United States will free the spy Jonathan Pollard before Passover. survey says - Jonathan Pollard for Marwan Barghouti period.

      - Israel will initiate a fourth round of prisoner releases that will include 14 Israeli Arabs [Palestinian citizens of Israel] survey says - this to happen before Pollard is released for Barghouti and before passover.

      - Israel will release 400 Palestinian prisoners “who have no blood on their hands,” that only have a few months remaining on their sentences. These prisoners to be released will be determined by Israel and will include women and minors. Survey says - same as above but the Palestinians will determine who will be released.

      - Israel will freeze most of the construction, except in East Jerusalem, and use restraint [rein in] in publishing building tenders and marketing land to contractors. - survey says - all illegal settlement construction will be frozen ESPECIALLY East Jerusalem and all publishing building tenders and marketing land to contractors are null and void.

I appreciate President Obama’s statement that Israel's conciliatory words will have to be matched by action that is transparent and verifiable. And I look forward to discussing this with the president in Washington next week. Israel thinks that soothing words and token actions will enable it continue on its path to full apartheid oppression of the Palestinian people. Like South Africa before it, Israel will try to remove sanctions by offering cosmetic concessions while preserving its ability to rapidly build expand the illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank at a time of its choosing. The world would welcome a genuine diplomatic solution that truly dismantles Israel's capacity to continue to develop illegal settlements, but we will not be fooled by half measures that merely provide a smokescreen for Israel's continual pursuit of apartheid oppression and denial of human rights of the Palestinian people, and the world should not be fooled, either.

      There, that's better.

Please tell us when Israel will allow IAEA inspections as Iran has done because if Israel wants Iranian nuclear transparency then Israel better be just as transparent. And as long as Israel defends nuclear ambiguity as 'strategic advantage', Iran can also defend it's nuclear ambiguity as 'strategic advantage'. Iran is sovereign state and is allowed under the NNPT to enrich uranium. How do you response to that Mr. Netanyahoo?" And watch Netanyahoo squirm, deflect, and lie on American television. Our "journalists" never really do their job and that is the shameful thing here, they never ask the hard questions, not even Bob Schieffer. For shame.

  • Is EU's stand on settlements a carrot or a stick?
    • While it is correct to say that Israel classes Jerusalem as her capital city, this is not recognized by any country other than Israel and those nations enjoying diplomatic relations with Israel have their embassies in Tel Aviv.

All the big newspapers are published in Tel Aviv, all the banks are headquartered in Tel Aviv, and most of the large companies are headquartered in the Tel Aviv area. The stock market is in Tel Aviv as are the majority of the theater companies.

Under international law, neither East nor West Jerusalem is considered Israel’s capital. Tel Aviv is recognised as Israel’s capital, pending a negotiated settlement with the Palestinians.

East Jerusalem is considered by the international community to be illegally occupied by Israel, in contravention of several binding UN Security Council Resolutions.

In these resolutions, the United Nations Security Council has also called for no measures to be taken to change the status of Jerusalem until a final settlement is reached between the sides.

Declaring Jerusalem as Israel’s capital is an attempt to change this status, and is thus a violation of these Security Council resolutions and against international law.

Immediately after Israel invaded and occupied East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in June 1967, the Palestinians offered to establish a demilitarized state if Israel would withdraw.

Israel refused and went on to colonize all occupied Arab lands, including to this day, Syria’s Golan Heights, as well as continued occupation of Lebanon’s Shebaa Farms.

The most extensive violator of Security Council resolutions is Israel.
Israel’s rejection of the Arab League land-for-peace formula put forward in Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338 arguably puts Israel in violation of these resolutions, long seen as the basis for Middle East peace.

More clearly, Israel has defied Resolutions 267, 271 and 298, which demand that it rescind its annexation of greater East Jerusalem, as well as dozens of other resolutions insisting that Israel cease its violations of the Fourth Geneva Convention, such as deportations, demolition of homes, collective punishment and seizure of private property.

UN Security Council resolutions are well grounded in international law. Security Council Resolutions 446, 452 and 465 require that Israel evacuate all its illegal settlements on occupied Arab lands.

The Knesset can sit where it wants. Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel. Why? it’s all against international law. But then you knew that didn’t you?

  • 'New York Times' profile of group bent on sanctioning Iran fails to mention Israel connections

Let's take it a step further. When an AIPAC endorsed candidate runs just spell out for the people in that district all the money we give to Israel that could be spend here at home. People understand dollars and cents. Make AIPAC and the people who run on a pro-Israel ticket defend giving 10 millions dollars a day to a 'vibrant democracy' when our own are going without. Spell it out for them and shame these AIPACers, Neocons, Israeli hawks, and anyone else of their ilk. It's long overdue.

  • End your illusion: Israeli government will never implement a two-state solution, top official says
    • Demographic trends mean that Israel can't have it all. It can't be a Jewish state, a democratic state, and a state in control of its whole historical land. It can only have two of its objectives at a time. Think of it this way: Israel can be Jewish and territorial -- but not democratic. Or it can be democratic and territorial -- but not Jewish. Or finally, it can be Jewish and democratic -- but not territorial. This third choice is the one that can conceivably lead to a two-state solution. Excuse me but this Mr. Danon and the rest of his ilk are, my god, arrogant pricks. Not only that, they are self righteous, ignorant, stupid fools.

  • Palestinian's message to Kerry: 'We do not trust you and America'
    • Economic package? In a hundred years the Palestinians couldn't get their hands as deep into the American pocket as Israelis have been for the past 60 years.

While the US can preach to the Palestinians about how and when to demand the end of their 45-year-long military occupation, the Obama administration says the US "cannot dictate the terms" to Israel. The Palestinians have every right to be wary of this "package".

Back in 1991 when the Israelis and their US lackeys were demanding $10 billion in loan guarantees and GHW Bush, the last president who showed some spine against Israel was refusing to go along them, Ted Koppel hosted a debate on the subject on Nightline between Stuart Eizenstat, a former Carter White House staff member and uberZionist, and Rep. David Obie, a relatively independent Democrat from Michigan with a significant Arab constituency.

When Eizenstat defended Israel’s credit, noting that every year they paid back to the US exactly what Israel owed us, Obey quickly shot back, saying, ‘that’s not surprising since we give them the money to pay us back.’

If he was any kind of a journalist and not a pro-Israel talking doll, Koppel should have loudly exclaimed, “What, we give them the money to pay us back?” But, of course, he didn’t and quickly changed the subject.

What Obey was referring to was Public Law 184, originally known as the Cranston Amendment, named after its sponsor, Sen. Alan Cranston (D-CA) that guaranteed to Israel each year, at the very minimum, a sufficient amount of aid to cover its debt to the US.

Clearly Kerry will put together a "package" not as advantageous to the Palestinians as the one for Israel.

My president stood utterly alone on the world stage as the sole head of state refusing to recognize the existence of a Palestinian state just so he can appease an ally, Israel, that over the last few years has repeatedly gone of out its way to embarrass his administration and stifle his attempts at achieving a two-state solution. By all means he should write another book entitled "The Audacity of Nope".

Good news? There will be when the US recognizes a two-state solution, a separation between their country and this one, the United States.

  • MSM jailbreak: Chris Hayes devotes 2 hours to conflict with panel of 2 Zionists and 2 Palestinians
    • You guys, giladg is the latest is hasbara recruits, he embarrasses himself all the time over on Foreign Policy where is allowed to whine and smear everyone that does not agree with him. But, fortunately, everyone here counters his ridiculous hasbaric claims and re-written fiction narrative quite nicely. Political movements which are standing on solid ground, and which have facts, reason and morality on their side, do not stoop to these methods. It’s a sign of desperation and general intellectual bankruptcy.

  • Ten reasons why AIPAC is so dangerous
    • The solution is simple - when an AIPAC endorsed candidate runs just spell out for the people in that district all the money we give to Israel that could be spend here at home. People understand dollars and cents. Make AIPAC and the people who run on a pro-Israel ticket defend giving 10 millions dollars a day to a 'vibrant democracy' when our own are going without. Spell it out for them and shame these AIPACers. It's long overdue.
