AddictionMyth This user account status is Approved Comments Comments Posts Posts I like both you guys so it pains me to see this squabbling (even though I am not a socialist haha). My thoughts are first of all if Christians are offended by this then I agree it is problematic. But I also think that 'evangelical' is actually a phantom designation and there really aren't many, even if there are many who are taught to identify as that on surveys for political purposes, and even if their 'leadership' is vocal. Thus, there are not many who'd be offended by this but hey like I said I could be wrong and would want to know either way. Overall I like the idea of child sacrifice, because that is a universal problem. However I think it's wrong in this case. In fact, the Zio-Christians' support for Jerusalem is not to sacrifice their own children but Jewish and Muslim. But these people are mostly very old and not very politically powerful any more, compared to a decade ago (or two). Despite the 'conventional wisdom', Trump did this not to appeal to the Zio-Christians but to the plain old Zionists. Why? Because the deadline was Dec 1 and he had to make a decision. It was unrelated to Roy Moore! On Anti-Christianism The funny thing is, people like Eisner defended Israel by saying it's the Jews' backup country in case things go south. Like say, if Nazis rise to power again and start killing the Jews. Yet here's a neo-Nazi on Israeli TV who isn't threatening but flattering us! Haha I think we're safe where we are. On Eisner and Greenblatt refuse to see Israel’s face in Richard Spencer’s mirror Palestinians should start a movement demanding full and equal rights including freedom of speech, religion and press. Their own people will oppose them viciously for a million reasons including foreign aid (which must end) and political oppression (e.g. 'incitement' laws, which must end). But they must ignore them. Come to the table with these demands and Israel will respond in kind (though everyone at first will resist viciously for a million reasons). That's it! Sorry Mooser I will not tell you where I live in Jerusalem. But come visit and I'll invite you to coffee in a public space! On The United State of Israel and Palestine You frighten me too. On Jews are safer in Israel than U.S. because our kids drop their M-16s on the sofa — NYT op-ed I live in Jerusalem. I am far more terrified by a soldier with an M-16 (or whatever the hell they are) than any Palestinian. I have been threatened many times by Zionists and even worse is no one condemns them (e.g. on facebook) and even worse is that others pile on. It disgusts me to hear that it is for my 'protection'. On Jews are safer in Israel than U.S. because our kids drop their M-16s on the sofa — NYT op-ed Where are you Mooser? On Racial supremacy and the Zionist exception Yup. I didn't realize that Zionism was Jew-Supremacism until I witnessed the rise of Trump's white supremacism. Also the alt-right has been severely discredited by Trump's waffling (not to mention harsh universal condemnation), and as a result diaspora Jews will feel safer in the US and thus won't feel the need for a 'backup country'. This will encourage a fresh look at Zionism. "What hath we wrought??" I'm in Jerusalem now and I know we have a huge mess to clean up. I'm happy to help haha. Also I'm a 'libertarian zionist' - one state with full freedom of speech, religion and press. On Racial supremacy and the Zionist exception "some have suggested that I suddenly began supporting the BDS movement" - I would like to know who is attacking her so that we can attack back. If she is supporting us then we should back her up. In my experience it's usually a small number of people who make the majority of noise, and if you can identify them it's usually not hard to shut them down for a while. Also - there are so many easy ways to attack AIPAC these days. There's no excuse for being bullied by them. On Pressure builds on Booker, Gillibrand to get to Yes on Israel Anti-Boycott Act (for sake of 2020) Yep. I agree completely. They created a huge mess and this realization is just 'dawning' on them: "What have we done??" Israel is a Frankenstein. You need to identify who's responsible (e.g. Adelson) and bash them over the head with this and MAKE THEM PAY. On Both political parties are fighting openly over Israel’s role in our policy-making I think the best thing we can do is stop GIVING money to Israel (currently $4b+/year) and keep SPENDING money on Israel. This is why I'm against BDS - it's counterproductive to the long term health of the country. To put it differently - I can think of lots better things to boycott. This will reduce the incentive for instigation of violence and open up space for people to negotiate.
