Mr Badarin writes
“As a response to its critics, the BBC listed the following: “BBC News has reported extensively on Israel’s recent military actions in Gaza” (not attack, emphasis added), “detailed the series of airstrikes on Gaza”, reported on “civilian deaths and casualties”, “reported on the context of the conflict in light of Israel’s continuing blockade”, and “detailed the considerable differences between Hamas and Israel’s respective military capabilities”. It includes hyperlinks to specific articles: 1, 2 and 3.
The above list is true. Neither the quantity nor the content of the reported material is in question here.”
OH yeah? check link 1 for a comparison of each side’s weaponry and tell me this drivel is not an outright propaganda piece. (on one side, all kinds of rockets with different ranges, full colour map provided, on the other side guess what? – Iron Dome!) Check link 2 for an explanation of how all those people in the Gaza Strip got like that (no mention of 1948, context my arse). Check link 3 for a description of peoples’ lives under blockade which omits any detail of what the blockade consists of and whose policy it is to keep the inhabitants ‘on a diet’ – no, its all about Egypt…
Come off it Mr Badarin, you don’t have to pretend the BBC is still quite good really, no, really they’re not. The BBC is complicit in the Occupation and the Genocide. Its Head of News (just one small aparatchik) is committed to supporting Israel – he’s said so. Its Head of Statistics (ex-Jerusalem Post intern) has spoken and written in support of the Israeli line on casualty figures, quoting with approval the NYT revision of childhood while doing so. They need to keep their lucrative positions don’t they?
I confess I didn’t bother reading on after that 4th. paragraph – the writer is living in cloud cuckoo land already. Its not enough for a ‘researcher’ to have a heart in the right place – they need to do actual reasearch too.
