I have a deep bond with, and love for, Germany, where I served as an American Exchange Pastor over fifty years ago. Allow me two comments. First, shocking as it is to us who carry the pain of horror day and night, those who deny our witness truly don’t know, and can’t believe it. How often I’ve heard, that German boys wouldn’t do things like that,…American boys wouldn’t…and so on. Secondly, I feel strongly that it takes a piercing personal encounter to shatter the monumentally entrenched narrative. And oddly, ironically, that is just what is happening with the shredding, it is spreading the story that will shake the wall. Keep witnessing.
