I am sorry but as a military historian-analyst, the hopes for a new liberation movement are simply that, hopes...
The single, most serious problem with all such movements around the world today is that being sincere in their endeavors they are coalescing around activist constructs and techniques. This would be fine if your opponents were actually rationally, thinking people as they were to some degree back in the 1960s (though not all of them by a long shot but enough were to make a difference).
Today such hopes are being constantly dashed through the mechanisms that are being used to combat the terrible ills that authoritarian groups and people have implemented and as a result, these efforts are running smack into a highly successful divide-&-conquer strategy that is being used to combat progressive and resistance groups.
This has been especially true in the United States. In Europe, though we are witnessing the rise of right-winged nationalistic groups in reaction to the massive immigration issues that are festering in European countries, they have been somewhat more successful as a result of their higher levels of cohesion around the unifying memes of national identity, cultural history, and cultural tradition.
Outside of this specific set of successes, the rest of the progressive and resistance groups around the world that are attempting to use political mechanisms are failing to a significant degree not only as a result of the ancient, Roman strategy of divide-&-conquer but also, and just as importantly, as a result of sociopathology at the political levels (and in Israel at the societal level in general) as well as the psychopathology in business leadership.
Simply put, these people don't really give a rat's ass about your hopes and aspirations. or fairness and honesty. They are all out to take and acquire whatever they want and feel entitled to. And being suborned buy what are considered to be incurable personality phenomenon, such people will never be able to be reasoned with on a rational basis. This is what makes sociopathology in this case so formidable a part of the opponents' makeup.
Palestinians and all their supporters, like many other such groups trying to alleviate the oppressive policies and injustices being suffered by them are in an all out war of survival. And until this is actually realized, you will never adopt the strategies and tactics of war to provide you with a more level playing field.
In addition, many such strategies and tactics will be unpalatable because of a misunderstanding as to how they would work to accomplish their goals. And I am not talking here, in the case of Palestinian resistance, violent conflict. As Sun Tzu discussed in his famous treatise, The Art of War, the best battle to fight is one where you do not have to.
And from my own analysis and perspective, Palestinian Resistance and all their supporters must take a completely opposite tact to what is being done now through the use of an orderly retreat... And that is just for starters....
To continue in the current vein of resistance would be the same as trying to pull harder on an old Chinese party toy. You will never get your fingers out...
