Don’t know if you guys saw the blatant hit piece on Dima Al Wawi, the 12 year old little girl who was kidnapped & tortured by Israel (link here http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/30/world/middleeast/surge-in-palestinian-youths-in-prison-tests-israels-justice-system.html?smid=tw-nytimesworld&smtyp=cur).
New York Times writer Diaa Hadid didn’t even take the time to get basic facts wrong, inserts quotes that Dima didn’t say, but makes sure to insert other children accused of attacks and to point out the types and lengths of the knives they were accused of possessing(even though we know, like in Dima’s case that children are interrogated w/o family or attorneys, tortured until they confess).
Interviews in Haaretz and other papers with Dima and her family directly contradict what was written in the New York Times. She was going to look for her mother and their land is nearby the illegal settlement, the knife was in her bag, not under her shirt as Hadid claims and Dima denies going to stab anyone.
I know the New York Times is known for its blatant bias, and Hadid has written other hit pieces on Palestinian prisoners, but to attack a 12 year old torture victim is a new low.
