I’m not so pessimistic as this article.
First, at the popular level, Western Europe abandoned their support for Zionism. A majority of those countries sympathize more with Palestinians, although at different levels, despite their earlier commitment due to the Holocaust. Their governments only support Israel to follow US dicatates.
Support for Israel in the democratic party is plummeting and the lobby is clearly losing especially with young Americans despite campus censorship. Support is strong among evangelicals but they are not a majority obviously.
On a gut level, I felt that Hill voicing the one-state solution (implicitly) and his firing is the beginning of the mainstreaming process, during which many fights will be had.
