Barghouti: The first intifada has begun again

More at The Real News
Israeli soldiers killed 4 Palestinian teenagers allegedly carrying garden tools during protests in the northern West Bank this weekend as AIPAC served wine to congressmen and told them about the great economic development in the West Bank. Mustafa Barghouti says: "It’s popular, it’s non-violent and it’s peaceful… It is happening everywhere now…. There is an agreement between all these groups, that we don’t use military actions…  These people are unarmed and they have nothing to defend themselves with, encountering the Israel army and Israeli settlers… both using guns."

Great reporting by Jesse Rosenfeld, via Lia Tarachansky. [And I'm sorry reader for my goddamn ethnocentrism, but you will see several young freedom-rider Jews in this video, defying an enormity on behalf of an oppressed people.]

MUSICAL INTERLUDE (brought to you by the makers of Ziocaine™):
White Flag Warrior, By Flobots (excerpted)
    [Jonny 5]
…They see sharks in the estuary,
    They claim the ark is Bartholemew’s;
    They say “War is necessary,”
But we say, “War is child abuse!” …
    [Jonny 5]
…They shell dwellings to quell the shellings,
    They lift taboos to seduce the cowards;
    They say we’re too yellow-bellied,
But we say “we’re the new superpower!”
    [Tim McIlrath/Jonny 5]
We’d rather make our children [We request to negotiate]
martyrs than murderers! [We come to you unarmed]
We’d rather make our children [We desire to communicate]
    White Flag Warriors!

Gosh, maybe if enough brave and courageous Jews were to join in the fight for justice for the Palestinians, we could salvage our reputation out of it, at least. Well, maybe you could anyway, mine’s already shot.

Shooting a protester in the back of the head with a bullet would come from a deranged militant force, but Israel is destroying itself without the help of a second intifada. Thank God for these idiots. Israel needs a peacekeeping force from the UN or the US. They’re losing control and everyone realizes the writing on the wall.
In the US, the battle that will be fought behind closed doors comes down to AIPAC vs. Congress, while the msm will try to control the discourse. Obama will get some good advice from all the skeletons of previous administrations who are sick of standing up for Israel and their sick nationalistic fever.

No US course has been objective since Truman’s buck stopping there in 1948.
We all know know that Truman was not objective either. And he regretted it.
Similarly, more patriotic congressmen have annonced their regrets to0, after they were out of office. AIPAC counts on this, useless and belated honesty, and they have been correct in terms of assessing no practical change. No change in the status quo; Israel uber alles, funded by USA.

    Headline at YNet –

    Did IDF Troops Lie?

Hell, yes, they lied! And right now, if you ask anyone who’s heard about t his from the MSM, they’ll tell you “the Palestinians attacked with pitchforks.”

  5. AM says:

Let us hope that agreement between all groups holds well. Israel will try its hardest to provoke violent actions and spin spin spin. The video summed up Israeli PR tactics well. Luckily, the Palestinian Cause is more developed today than it has been in the past, but it still won’t be easy standing up to the Israeli Juggernaut. Let us continue to hope and push that the political discourse will CONTINUE to change.

For all you cynics, I think there is a possibility that the Israeli/Palestinian issue may be referred to the U.N. Security Council if Netanyahu does not accede to Obama’s demands. The UNHRC held a settlement vote today and there was only one blocking vote-the U.S. The UK actually voted for sanctions. I really do think that Obama may be thinking of elevating this issue to the Security Council.

    • Chaos4700 says:

…where Obama will, what, exactly? Press the ‘veto’ button, like we always do? We’ll be damn lucky if has our rep vote just a nominal ‘nay,’ or at least merely abstain.

You realize if this does go to the Security Council, and we veto it, the rest of the world will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Israel pulls our puppet strings?

  7. Citizen says:

Anybody see the Family guy episode today that satirically revealed how jews were good with money and the irish were good at getting drunk and pissing away their money? Peter wanted his son to b jewish so he’d be smarter; Peter’s wife (with a partially jewish family tree) was considered a self-hating jew by jews because she felt her son was converting to Judiasm for the wrong reason, that is, to be smarter than his Dad about money matters.

This will only end with about three senerios….
    1. burn it to the ground….then nobody gets palestine
    2. israel bombs iran…iran retaliates…bombing saudi oil fields oil prices soar to $400/bar….US economy gone….of course israel gets first crack at our ooil reserve…..
    3. the arabs have had enough and start to cut ties with the US stop selling US oil….once again US economy done for.

sadly the US congress acts like a 15 year old around a hot model…

    • Chaos4700 says:

I don’t think Iran would attack Saudi Arabia. They aren’t war crazy like the US and Israel obviously are. But we would still a sharp increase in gas prices — you can bet that if the US and Israel invade yet another Middle Eastern country, the whole region will become hostile to us. Two points suggest a line… but three points confirm it.

  11. Iran won’t preemptively attack anybody, but Israel may, hoping that the US will either assist, or pull its irons out of the fire. I sincerely hope the US has made its intentions to not attack Iran prematurely abundantly clear to the Israelis.
