An Israeli made GHETTO.
A border between two Arabs, a border put in place by 20th century colonial powers to divide and control.
What an oppressed and haunted face!
what a scam. they say for weeks they are going to open the border. it was all just a pr scam.
That’s assuming they didn’t originally intend to do it, but were then dissuaded by threats and/or bribes.
Of course, it’s also possible that they said it just because they were fishing for those bribes.
But I’m not sure which is the case.
The reason is very puzzling but what you say makes the most sense. The Egyptian military was putting pressure on international donors to get them to give them that $10 billion. What is so depressing about this is that if true it just reinforces the very deep control that the Zionists retain over the international financial world. US (and Saudi, for that matter) interests can not possible be served to continue the Gaza lockdown. It takes some really weird pressure to imagine why the US would go to such lengths over something that is so outside of our intersts.
Don’t forget, there are still a lot of Egyptians on protest to finish what they start, right this minute. They still need our support! Not just for the sake of the Gazans but because Egyptians deserve to be free from oppression as well.
Ma‘an had this today. Inshaa’llah this will happen.
Rafah crossing to re-open Wednesday
GAZA CITY (Ma‘an) — The crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip will be re-opened Wednesday after a four-day closure, the Palestinian official responsible for the Rafah terminal said Tuesday.
Ayyoub Abu Sha‘ar said in a statement that the transit point would open normally in both directions for travel, and travelers on a list of passengers due to cross last Thursday and Saturday would be given priority.
The official asked citizens to respect the list system in order to avoid congestion on the border, and make everyone’s journey go faster.
This is the real life remake of “Escape from New York” set instead in Gaza, with the prisoners being 99.9999% innocent of any crime except breathing while being Palestinian.
If the border were opened, that would obviate the necessity
for another flotilla. It appears that US/Israel interests are
to challenge the legitimacy of the international effort
to break the siege of Gaza. It’s frightening to contemplate
what they have in mind. Now that the Palestinians have
been designated the new “Wretched of the Earth”
we are left with the horrifying prospect of wholesale slaughter
of nonviolent demonstrators.
Israel/US has brought enormous pressure to prevent another Mavi Marmari episode.
No one should be under the impression the interim military government is not being pressured by the Americans and Israelis. Even after Cairo has a democratically elected government it will economically be very weak. And when we arrange aid for it we will have conditions. The Rafah crossing is one of those conditions. Another condition is relations with Israel. Egypt will not be allowed sever relations. We are not through with Egypt yet.

Hmmm differing stories !! The most enlightened amongst us would assume that the US/Israel destruction & death machine is simply reasserting it’s authority on the weak & corrupt ( bought off ) Egyptian military but the news that it will re-open very soon has got me thinking ? Can someone please clarify the facts on Rafah re-opening to an ‘upbeat pessimist’ ?
