Not my President

  • Yesterday the State Department warned that if Israel chose to attack, kill or imprison American citizens this country would do nothing about it.
  • Earlier today Hillary Clinton said the brave Americans wanting to break the siege on Gaza were provocateurs and that Israel knows best on how to make sure goods get into Gaza.
  • Now the White House says that American activists are breaking the law because they are providing support to a terrorist organization--the people of Gaza are a terrorist organization--and will be subject to fines and jail.

Such shameful statements by the State Department, when will Americans question whose interest their elected officials are working in?  Political parties, skin color and gender apparently play no role when Israel is concerned.

Someday, some police department or DA is going to have to try this.

I mean, isn’t there some new laws about sponsoring terror(or some old laws about Americans internationally and their government)?

Or how about some beuracratic body enforcing the U.S constitution?

There is an answer to Zionist crimes somewhere in America. There has to be…

      • Citizen says:

stevieb, JFK tried to do it, and the recent attempt to revitalize his efforts have come to naught; never even mentioned in the US press. All spy cases against AIPAC have also come to naught. No judge wants to open up that can of worms because it reaches to the highest levels of our government past and present. The data to show with crystal clarity via classified documents what W & M try to show merely by quoting (mostly Jewish) MSM will remain classified until it is way too late. JFK couldn’t prevent Israel getting nukes, and no new JFK will be able to prevent Israel using its nukes when it sees fit, that is, if it determines that the world will not allow it to exist in its present form , i.e., “Israel as Israel.” The whole world recognizes limits on national soverignty, but not Israel, not even on paper. Like the most common criminal you can imagine, Israel feels entitled to do what it does, to self-govern without restraint no matter what meants it uses towards its ends. Like Goering, in essence, Zionist Israel is simply opportunistic sans any other ethics.

Seham- I presume you didn’t pay at least USD 1 million to Obama’s election fund. Anyone who didn’t can’t call him their president.

    Obama belongs to his sponsors.

  3. MHughes976 says:

I have a problem in reconciling ‘Why don’t you use the efficient and legitimate channels for supplying Gaza?’ and ‘Supplying Gaza is against the law’.

  4. Chu says:

The continued siege on Gaza, exposes how corrupt the US/Israeli policy is.
This refugee prison camp is what is left of southern Palestine. It’s sad how Israel complains about rockets, while these refugees live in squalor.

Israel created the problem of Gaza, but always want to blame their problems on global antisemitism. This cheap tactic has got to end. Why cant hey can settle on 1967 lines? It’s not about security.

The longer this obfuscation plays out, the more damaging it is to Israel.

  5. spuxx says:

I wonder what the response of the State Department would be if a flotilla to Benghazi was threatened by Gaddafi?

  6. Chu says:

“…try to remember that Israel’s move to the right is driven by fear and confusion, ruthlessly fanned by politicians whose hold on power depends on the panic of Israel’s citizens. I feel it can’t be true that the country that was supposed not only to be the homeland of the Jews, but a moral beacon, is descending into such darkness. I try to remember that such times of darkness do not reflect on the human quality of a whole nation; that countries like Spain, Greece and Portugal emerged from dark times into the free world…”

  7. chet says:

There is no question that if the American flotilla vessel was carrying any actual humanitarian goods, i.e. food, medicine, etc, that the passengers could be prosecuted for providing aid to a designated terrorist entity – this possibility has been countered by the strategy of only carrying letters of support for the Gazans.

    Kudos to their legal team.

    • stevieb says:

Hold on – Gaza designated as a “terrorist entity”?

      By whom?

And there is no law against providing humanitarian supplies to anybody not according to the Geneva Conventions anyway. The blockade of Gaza is illegal; the occupation of Gaza, W.Bank, Gholan Heights, Sheba Farms is illegal.

Why would their legal team be concerned about breaking an illegal embargo by supplying humanitarian goods?

  8. Why don’t these craven and spineless officials try reading the UN reports on Gaza and its desperate need for medicine, food and raw materials, denied them by the ‘official channels’. Instead of reading direct from the Likud ‘factsheet’ they have been employed to regurgitate so robotically.

  9. Mndwss says:

The Gaza Ghetto is ignored by the world just like the Warsaw Ghetto was…

  10. munro says:

Very depressing but hasn’t this site established that zionism has a stranglehold on the msm, politics, academia and wall street? So Obama should stand up to the Lobby and not be reelected and let Republicans demolish social security, medicare, EPA, whatever health care and financial regulations the Democrats managed to get through – and obliterate Muslim world?

  11. zionism has a stranglehold on the msm, politics, academia and wall street?

Good thing you said Zionism and not Judaism, wouldn’t want people to think you are a racist mouthing the same old accusations used against Jews forever.

Yup, we control academia, and this whole Apartheid Week joke that takes place in Universities? We are behind it for various nefarious reasons I am sure you will soon uncover.

    • Citizen says:

Yeah you Zionists as a practical matter do control all those avenues of US citizen activity. Only a very few people manage to interrupt your agenda, for example M & W with their The Israel Lobby, which has never been factually countered, and now everyone knows it. Your purpose is to block informed consent, and you are currently most worried about losing control in academia. With that in mind, longliveisrael, your comment is really weak, depending as it does on readers ipso facto believing whatever you say because you suggest any criticism of Israel and Israel Firsters in the USA is nothing but conspiracy nutcake chock full with jew-hatred; you need to get schooled by your brighter fellow travelers if you want to maintain that Zionist muzzle, so here:

How to name and shame critics of Israel:

      • Start every critique with supportive words for peace or free discourse or both.
      • Don’t accuse anti-Israel forces of anti-Semitism unless they openly vilify Jews; accuse them of being anti-peace for opposing Israel’s right to exist.
      • On campuses and other places where anti-Israel groups act in a disruptive manner, write and promulgate civility petitions calling on all parties to engage in a respectful discussion. If the anti-Israel groups sign it, then they constrain their future actions; if they don’t, they can be accused of being uncivil.
      • In taking on an anti-Israel professor on campus, don’t focus on the substantive arguments they make. That will make you look like you’re trying to stifle discourse. Instead, accuse them, in the words of Professor Gil Troy, of “academic malpractice” for propagandizing the classroom.
      • When someone on campus justifies Hamas or Hezbollah, call them out by asking a question: Do you really support the Hamas charter’s call for killing Jews? Can that ever be justified?
      • Avoid indictments against all Muslims or Islam; preface any criticism of a Muslim radical group with an acknowledgement of peaceful Muslims.

Anybody recognize our anti-mascot Richard Witty’s endless stream of comments on
Mondoweiss in these instructions? So did Dick write these instructions? No,
they are the product of David Bernstein, Executive Director of The David Project:
      link to israelcampusbeat.org

These instructions deserve to be filed ready for use, same as the general Hasbara 101 bullet points Mooser gave us to bring the spotlight on those zealot Zionists coming to this site to block, diffuse, and misguide clarity geared for informed consent of American citizens.

      • Chaos4700 says:

Good find, Citizen. Not that it isn’t painfully obvious that these Zionists are all bleating out the same messages over and over again but it’s nice to have the documentation lined up about it.

      • MRW says:

Excellent link, Citizen. Here is the original from The David Project in shortened is.gd form:

Don’t know who it will turn out when I press submit, so here it is without the http and two slashes. Also, placed a space after gd:
        is.gd /w6QncU

        • Citizen says:

The irony in this one is delicious:
1.) In taking on an anti-Israel professor on campus, don’t focus on the substantive arguments they make.

2.) That will make you look like you’re trying to stifle discourse.

3.) Instead, accuse them, in the words of Professor Gil Troy, of “academic malpractice” for propagandizing the classroom.

  12. you need to get schooled by your brighter fellow travelers

    Typical lefty arrogance.

Of course, first agreeing that the Jews control everything, then preaching to us how we should think and talk, in the great tradition of Stalin and Mao.

    Zionism is Fascism.

  14. Citizen says:

So Ireland has gone one step beyond the current cowardly US diplomacy in the matter, officially declaring Israel’s blockade is illegal and sucks, and warning Israel not to harm its Irish citizens, but it still tells its own citizens on the Irish boat in the flotilla that “You’re on your own.”

When I see the Obama administration consistently acting like this, I can’t get over your comment that “Obama is a deep, thoughtful man”, Phil. His rhetoric is great. But his actions range from weak to outrageous.

In my naivete I voted for Obama. His conduct since being in office has served to convince me never to trust another politician. It has also shaken my belief in democracy. In order to get my revenge I am tempted to vote for the worst person on the republican slate, which represents a major challenge; who is the worst in that line up.

sajepress, it wasn’t hard to hope that Obama would be more for being an honest broker in the ME than McCain; perhaps next time around just vote for a 3rd Party candidate to send your single message at least, and of course knowing that’s impractical vote participation? For said revenge, how about Bachmann, she who hates gays and welfare (except the federal subsidy for her own giant farm), and belives God told her to support Israel uber alles? As a bonus, she worked as a tax attorney prosecutor in behalf the IRS Code, the biggest chunk of redistribution of the average worker’s income one could ever imagine, to benefit both GM & those poor to middling folk you can see on Judge Judy who milk the system for all its worth.
