   absolutely;iremove the stem knob-this can and will end up in your or someonelses mouth and it won't add to the dining experience.you can wash the fruit,i do not.run a kife around the avacodo length wise, cutting from the skin to the pit. a small twist will yeild two halves with one side holding the pit;this side when not needed is wraped with plastic and set in the fridge for days and days.the other side without the pit is consumed in a variety of ways!i have worked in kitchens where it is common to leave the pits in a guacomole that is house prpared and held in back in bulk[although no pits are served].
