Blair, the west’s Mideast envoy, get $1 million from chief party to dispute (guess who?)

John Pilger in the New Statesman:

Protected by the fake sinecure of Middle East envoy for the Quartet
(the US, EU, UN and Russia), [Tony] Blair operates largely from a small
fortress in the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem, where he is an
apologist for the US in the Middle East and Israel, a difficult task
following the bloodbath in Gaza. To assist his mortgages, he recently
received an Israeli “peace prize” worth $1m.

Gosh I missed this. Announced in Haaretz, February. (Thanks to Eva Smagacz)

And US taxpayers probably paid for that.

The corruption is simply unbelievable. They do it so openly. Like no one cares. Just wow.

I guess the Church of England's loss is the Church of Rome's gain.

They can have him. I guess scruples didn't come with the conversion.

Appalling. Is there no limit to the mendacity of ex politicians who have had their snout in the taxpayer's trough?

Get out of your Hotel suite Tony, take off your suit and work with people who have AIDS in the third world. Christ spent time with lepers, prostitutes and tax collectors. What are you doing except living a life in the pointy end of the aircraft?
    Fraud.

The Jews have really done a number on the Church of Rome. Comte Leon de Poncins was writing about this decades ago, maybe his books will come back into fashion.
