From ABC News yesterday:
JAKE TAPPER: I hate to say this, but yes or no, David, does the intransigence of the Israeli government on the housing issue, yes or no, does it put U.S. troops lives at risk?
AXELROD: I believe that that region and that issue is a flare point throughout the region, and so I’m not going to put it in those terms. But I do believe that it is absolutely imperative, not just for the security of Israel and the Palestinian people, who were, remember, at war just a year ago, but it is important for our own security that we move forward and resolve this very difficult issue.

Netanyahu declared today that he will go on building in Jerusalem, just as before.
In the meantime, the WSJ is taking its stand defending Israel against the NYT, which is to say, attacking Obama.
Does the White House have a minyan?
A very similar interview.
Axelrod’s a fraud. Obama should be thanking Howard Dean for getting him into the White House, it was his strategy that opened the door for the monumental Democratic win in 2008 that the party has since squandered.
Axelrod, the answer is Yes. The match was almost struck…
Picket signs will say ‘Israeli Settlements Endangers American Troops’.
“Israeli Settlements Endangers American Troops”
I’m going to get that bumper-stickered.
You know actually? That is a brilliant bumper sticker.

That’s certainly unique. Are you a Manson fan?
At the risk of breaking ranks here…
How is it that Israeli settlements endanger our troops? If it’s because the muslims don’t like it, well…that should not be a consideration. We should oppose the settlements for the right reasons, not because the muslims don’t like them. Otherwise, how would that not be others dictating our foreign policy?
…and the opinions of Palestinian Christians don’t matter? Heh.
Somewhat more seriously: The problem, Sunyata, is that people in the Middle East look at Gaza and the West Bank, and then they look at Fallujah and Bahgrim, and then they look around in Amman or Cairo or Damascus or wherever else they live and they ask themselves, “Are we next?
All I’m saying is, America alone should decide America’s policies.
That, I can agree with.
