‘This past year has arguably been the worst in the history of the occupied Palestinian territory’

Palestinian Centre for Human Rights rep Daragh Murray, speaking at the UN Human Rights Council, blasted Netanyahu’s speech to AIPAC, cited the collective punishment of the people of Gaza, and said that civilians the world over are shocked by the images of the evictions in East Jerusalem that are the result of the "peace process."

The news is what Hillary hinted to AIPAC yesterday: the Palestinian narrative cannot be marginalized any longer, everywhere she goes leaders want to talk about it. Even Tony Blair in his speech to AIPAC today called for easing the blockade on Gaza. Pure persecution, and the world is watching.

Yep, while it was really depressing to hear from Hillary’s mouth that she had no clue about the I-P disaster during the 1990s, which means she had no clue while running for a senator’s spot, and my God, can you belive living in such a fantasy balloon during those Hillary years, and reminding one self that Hillary was Chief lady of the USA–imagine even worse–Shrub’ s wife—jeez, where do we go from that? The USA is truly ruled by
ignorance. What does it mean when the USA’s leaders and main influencers are and have been so ignorant?

Makes me wonder what exactly Obama’s wife knows about the real world divorced from simple anti-black -rascism. Kudos for her dad’s government pay checks. That should help government employee health care. Just don’t expect that for yourself.

Toughest since 1967 perhaps. You know, when Israel was just soon after colonizing the territory and applying new labels from “captured,” then “occupied,” then “liberated,” then “the new territory.” The U.S. State Dept sharply criticized Israel for Israels move to incorporate some East Jerusalem Neighborhoods. Moreover, Ambassador Charles W. Yost, chief of the United States delegation to the United Nations had sharp words over the Israeli expansion

The expropriation or confiscation of land, the construction of housing on such land, the demolition or confiscation of buildings, including those having historic or religious significance, and the application of Israeli law to occupied portions of the city are detrimental to our common interests in [Jerusalem]. The United States considers that the part of Jerusalem that came under the control of Israel in the June war, like other areas occupied by Israel, is governing the rights and obligations of an occupying Power. Among the provisions of international law which bind Israel, as they would bind any occupier, are the provisions that the occupier has no right to make changes in laws or in administration other than those which are temporarily necessitated by his security interests, and that an occupier may not confiscate or destroy private property. The pattern of behavior authorized under the Geneva Convention and international law is clear: the occupier must maintain the occupied area as intact and unaltered as possible, without interfering with the customary life of the area, and any changes must be necessitated by the immediate needs of the occupation. I regret to say that the actions of Israel in the occupied portion of Jerusalem present a different picture, one which gives rise to understandable concern that the eventual disposition of East Jerusalem may be prejudiced, and that the private rights and activities of the population are already being affected and altered.

“My Government regrets and deplores this pattern of activity, and it has so informed the Government of Israel on numerous occasions since June 1967. We have consistently refused to recognize those measures as having anything but a provisional character and do not accept them as affecting the ultimate status of Jerusalem. . . .”

Charles Yost, U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations, UN Security Council, July 1, 1969

    A tough Stand!

    However…

Yost got struck down by the Pro-Israeli Lobby right after that stand.

Yost is just one in a long line of people struck down by the lobby.

Makes me really proud to be a born American, one who served in the USA military. Any one else feel the same way?

Philip: Clinton and Blair are some of the Palestinians’ worst ever diplomatic enemies disguised as peace mediators. We shouldn’t be fooled by their words, their very feeble words.
