Zogby: "Utica, N.Y. -More than four-in-five Americans (81%) agree the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has a negative impact on U.S. interests, including a majority of both Democrats (88%) and Republicans (77%), a new Zogby Interactive survey finds."

    The most salient finding is that the Palestinians have not been able to counter the old
    Paul Newman Exodus American propagandized mindset with an endearing narrative of their own. The current result is that the Democracts are not so pro-Israel uber alles; the Independents are in the middle; and the Republicans are overwhelmingly stuck on Newman’s blue fake Israeli eyes. If you ever wanted to see how the American masses live in a fantasy land created by their socio-economic superiors, this is the video clip to watch.

      The wiki entry on the Uris book Exodus states the book was commissioned by a pro-Israeli American businessman Edward Gottlieb in order to increase support for Israel.

      I haven’t read the book but watched the film a few months ago. It actually was fairly even-handed until the final hour when it collapsed into total farce. I understand the book is much more explicit in its racism.

      Seems like some new scholarship is in order to make the propaganda roots of Exodus more widely known. It disturbs me already that people believe a film and novel to be true, even more so that they are commissioned propaganda.

      Yeah, I continue to be disappointed in Maddow and Olbermann in that regard. Although, GE has a lot of ties to Israel. Whole divisions of the medical focus of their conglomerate were outsourced from Americans to Israelis some time ago. It’s hard not to imagine there’s pressure behind the scenes to keep quiet on Israel — although it is getting a bit absurd. How long can they ignore what is becoming a major factor in progressive reform, the way anti-apartheid did the first time around with South Africa?
