American Jewish Committee rushes to justify attack

from American Jewish Committee's "Z-word" website

"The use of greater force from the start might have led to one or two hotheads getting killed but might well have kept the final body count down to more manageable proportions."

And this:

"Judging from the pop-eyed rage expressed by some of those aboard towards the yahudiler I am not surprised matters have come to this. Some of the passengers were evidently longing for martyrdom."

Thanks to Ben White.

SHAME on the AJC, and anyone connected with it.

    • Elliot says:

Amen. There is a short video clip taken with thermal imaging from an Israeli helicopter. It supposedly shows a series of “violent” acts by the people on the boat including throwing a soldier from a higher deck over the railings, attacking a soldier with a metal pole etc. This was the basis for authorizing the use of lethal force. I couldn’t make out a thing. It’s laughable that this is produced as evidence. If we choose to believe the IDF’s story and that’s what the commanders could see when they made their decision, then they were really in the dark.

  2. sherbrsi says:

Some of the passengers were evidently longing for martyrdom.”

    “Jihadists, Islamists, Hamasists, Al-Qaeda, Martyrs.”

Just who will the Zionists keep pointing the finger to to escape looking at its own grotesque self?

The Zionists would sooner brand the whole world anti-Semites than admit a single flaw in the Israeli state.

  3. Colin Murray says:

… but might well have kept the final body count down to more manageable proportions.”

What does this mean? Is it an admission that Israel would have been willing to kill more many more if the aid ships had gotten closer to Gaza?

    • sherbrsi says:

By “manageable proportions” they mean a smaller body count easier for Hasbara to dismiss as “violent terrorists hellbent on Israel’s destruction killed in self-defense.”

The whole article is pure nonsense, even by Hasbara standards.

    • Frances says:

“might well have kept the final body count down to more manageable proportions.”

Will someone please explain what the fuck a “manageable” body count is? Seriously, what on earth does that mean? 3.46 peace activists, 600 000 Lebanese, 104345345345 Palestinians and 0 Israelis? Is there an algorithm that the rest of the non-Zionist world is not privy to?

      • sherbrsi says:

Zionists put any news coming out from the region through the Hasbara filter. It doesn’t matter if the flotilla massacre was morally, legally or even strategically offensive, where Israel went wrong is that it didn’t come out looking the good guy.

      • Setanta says:

“Manageable” in this context means more likely to pass the bullshit test. Unfortunately for Israel, that number is zero.

    • potsherd says:

Of course they would have! They just would have had to spin the outcome harder to make it look like the fault of the aid mission.

    • eGuard says:

Maybe they mean that were the civils armed with firearms and had shot at the pirates, there would be even less deads (some commandos)?

  4. mok says:

    Absolutely disgusting.

Supporting the Gazans is a Jihadist’s venture is it? Then so be it.

First it turns out the Israelis were sure that weapons had been prep’d aboard the flotilla beforehand, now it turns out an IDF search has turned up no weapons (except for two pistols – that were brought on board by the the IDF btw). When will the lies desist?

There are going to be protests all over the world this week. Please, all of you join in. The only way we’re going to change this miserable situation is to participate in overthrowing it. The zionists are trying the scare the west in to supporting their brutality by invoking Jihad and Martyrdom? It’s disgusting.

Don’t forget that “Murder Incorporated” was a Jewish gang.

  6. Avi says:

The Israeli government released some footage – shown on Press TV – it claims to be of an activist throwing a “Molotov cocktail at Israeli troops”.

The footage is from a thermal camera. The problem with the footage is that a Molotov cocktail that burns at temperatures around 1500F should glow extremely bright white (or very dark black) compared to the other humans in the frame who emit temperatures of 98F or so. But, this particular Molotov bottle does NOT.

My conclusion – I’m 100% certain of this – is that it was a cold water bottle or a soda bottle.

I would urge everyone to examine carefully any so-called evidence Israel will attempt to pass off.

  7. potsherd says:

Right now, the phones to every Zionist-owned member of Congress are ringing off the wall. They will have to get them at their backs for this.

Whereas … “Israel has the right to defend itself …”

MY COMMENT: The “American Jewish Committee” is giving American Jews a very, very, very bad name!

What a very Wittyesque way of justifying murder.

  10. Polly says:

Well, speaking of Witty, and Yonira, Rachel, eee, Julian etc etc – where the fuck are you all today??????

  11. Jim Holstun says:

    Dear Friends,

Israel now has the goods on the Flotilla-monsters in humanitarian guise: not only did they have slingshots (maybe), but they were also armed with . . . with . . . I CAN’T SAY IT, BUT I MUST!

    They were armed with marbles!

  12. eGuard says:

Speaking of body count, why hasn’t the IDF published their number of killings?

  13. Shmuel says:

    This is J Street’s statement:

In Wake of Flotilla Tragedy, J Street Urges Stronger American Leadership to End Conflict Now

J Street is deeply shocked and saddened by reports that at least 10 civilians have been killed and dozens more wounded (including Israeli soldiers) this morning as Israel intercepted a naval convoy bringing humanitarian supplies and construction materials to the Gaza Strip.

We express our condolences to the families of those killed and we wish the injured a full and speedy recovery. We hope that leaders on all sides will take immediate steps to ensure that this incident does not escalate into a broader round of violence – in Israel, in Gaza or in the region.

There will undoubtedly be calls in the coming days for a UN investigation into today’s events. A credible, independent commission appointed by the Israeli government should provide the world with a full and complete report into the causes and circumstances surrounding the day’s events and establish responsibility for the violence and bloodshed.

This shocking outcome of an effort to bring humanitarian relief to the people of Gaza is in part a consequence of the ongoing, counterproductive Israeli blockade of Gaza. J Street has been and continues to be opposed to the blockade – believing that there are better ways to ensure Israel’s security and to prevent weapons smuggling than a complete closure of the Gaza Strip.

We do not know yet what the impact of today’s incident will be on the just-restarted peace process, on Israel’s relations with international community, or on the health of Arab-Jewish relations within Israel itself.

We do know, however, that today is one more nail in the coffin for hopes of ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict peacefully and diplomatically and for preserving Israel’s Jewish and democratic character. We urge President Obama and other international and regional leaders to take today’s terrible news as an opportunity to engage even more forcefully in immediate efforts to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

  15. haviv says:

Amazing. You guys can talk simultaneously about the non-violence of the passengers (see link to youtube.com if you really believe Israel is lying), and about the justification for their violence: link to mondoweiss.net

Which is it, guys? Was the violence expected and justified, or a figment of those Israeli fascists’ imagination? Can’t have it both ways, seems to me.

    • Seham says:

      How dumb are you, Haviv?

They were a flotilla attempting to bring humanitarian aid into Gaza which as you assholes love to point out “Israel does not occupy Gaza anymore, they left it, etc.” Israel had no right to attack the flotilla on INTERNATIONAL WATERS and stop them. They weren’t going to Israel. They were going to Gaza. The Israelis acted like crazed pirates and some members of the flotilla responded to ISRAELI PROVOCATIONS. Are you telling me that you would sit there like an innocent passive little flower and not fight back? What kind of flipping parallel universe do you freakin Zionists live in?

I am so sorry for the loss of those lives on the flotilla. But the amount of damage these events might have on the future of that shitty little apartheid entity is priceless.

      RIP Israel with Godspeed.

Wow, that analysis is genius. You’re a fucking moron, they HAVE NO RIGHT BOARDING THE VESSEL! Get that through your entitled, ethno-supremecist skull. You and your Nation are uncivilised Barbarians.

  17. Joseph Heller once remarked, “Catch-22 means people have the right to do to you anything that you cannot prevent them from doing to you.”

    That’s some catch.

  18. demize says:

The Israeli military is very apt at attacking unarmed civilians. Even with the plethora of weaponry and training they posses, I don’t think they will be doing to well in opposition to a well equipped dedicated cadre of fighters. They are cruel, soft, and lazy. They will be getting their asses kicked in the near future I envision, if Turkey is provoked any further. Unfortunately the will be dragging the rest of humanity into the next World War I fear.

  19. demize says:

Too, they. Sorry phone randomly eliminates letters sometimes.
