Things are getting desperate in the U.S. Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi of the Israel Project, an Israel lobby group, writes in the Jerusalem Post that America will never be the same, and it's time to remember Israel's shared values with the Russians:
The pro-Israel community must internalize... new realities... we must adapt and change the way we do business. We as a community continue doing things right, but are not doing the right things. Our strategies are outdated, akin to shining the chrome on a broken model-T instead of getting a new car to take us where we need to go.
Unfortunately, some in the pro-Israel community still want to use the models that do not work in the new order. Some pray for an Obama defeat that will bring back the old order. But no matter who wins elections, it is not coming back....
Importantly, Russia is already warm to Israel – a country with more than one million Russian speakers, significant shared values and many business ties.

She’s delusional. Suddenly Russia is Israel’s bff?
That’s the same Russia that has put Israel in its place by supporting the Goldstone report at the UN?
Avi – I think everyone should do everything they can to encourage “better relations” between Russia and Israel.
Good point. I’m off to practice my Kalinka.
There are 142 million people in Russia. Some Russians view the Russians that left for Israel (not all were Jewish, per Avraham Burg: Israel needed more population in the 1990s, so they made a deal) as traitors.
You think Russia is going to let Israel in to do what it did to the USA, again?
“You think Russia is going to let Israel in to do what it did to the USA, again?”
Shhhh. Let the israelis think they will, though. ;D
What a laugh. Remember how we used to hear about the legacy of anti-Semitism in Czarist Russia which was picked up and remained unchanged in Soviet Russia?
Well, I say if the Israel Lobby wants to divorce the USA and partner up with some other country, they’re free to do and and they’ll get no argument from me.
In fact, I actively hope that they do exactly that. American foreign policy can use a break.
Re those Israeli-Russian “ties” : I could mention “Dangerous Liasons” [1991] by the Cockburns, which had some interesting information about KGB penetration of [and cooperation with] the Mossad. But would it do any good?
Meir Dagan, head of the Mossad, is Russian, and despises the USA. It would take me an hour to find the link on an Israeli-written foreign policy site.
RE: “Meir Dagan…despises the USA…the link on an Israeli-written foreign policy site.” – MRW
FROM DEBKAfile: Mossad chief: Obama’s perceived military “softness” weakens Israel, 06/01/10
(excerpt)…the Mossad chief said Barack Obama’s first year as president was a period of “devaluation” for “Israeli and American strategic assets.”
Dagan’s uncharacteristic bluntness was a measure of the anxiety gripping Israel’s security leaders over the slump in US-Israel relations.
He timed his cutting observations for the day Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was to have held talks in White House with President Obama…

And Jennifer Laszlo-Mizrahi writes her beauty comments: “President Barack Obama is viewing American foreign policy and national interest through the twin prism of globalization, which is referred to twice in the first paragraph of his introduction to the new White House National Security Strategy document, and international cooperation.” (Imagine the nerve of Obama) “A strong US-Israel relationship is necessary, but not sufficient for the future.”
Yeah, we wanna’ get our hard-on without globalization and international cooperation. Let’s pump our guns east.
I believe hitler thought mussolini was weak, too….
Anybody who thinks Russia has any warm feelings for Israel has only to watch Russian-government-funded RT television. To give one example, its coverage of the Mavi Marmara Massacre has been much more accurate than that of the U.S. media (with the one honorable exception of Democracy Now.) Norman Finkelstein appears on RT regularly.
RT goes pretty light on israel, but yes, they are better than the mainstream u.s. media.
(They have to be, some Russians may be watching it ;D)
I think she is on to something. With a million Russians in Israel, Avigdor Lieberman’s star rising, Israel becoming more Stalinist by the minute, it seems like a pretty good fit to me. One problem: where Israel leads the US tends to follow. Oy vey!
it seemed obvious to me that the core of the neocons ARE Russian Jews.
Is Mizrahi keen to create a new Sharansky in Mikhail Khordorkovsky, or merely to port ALL of Russia’s oligarchs to Israel, thereby buffering the possible loss of Uncle Sam’s annual stipend?
The neocons despise Russia and are as obsessed with putting Russia down as any Islamic country.
The idea of Israel turning to Russia in an anathema to the Neocons and the far right. And don’t forget that the Russians also enjoy good lrations with Iran, Syria, Turkey, Brazil, Venezuela and China – all of whom have a healthy mistrust of Israel.
there is a strong streak of racism in Russia, is that one of the “common values?”
if anybody in the world seems to know how israel plays the game and keep them in check it is Putin … Russia will never trust nor allow israel to have much influence over Russia – and any relationship with israel is essentially that – a takeover of some type
it is a laugh to think the israel will turn to Russia or China – they already have interlinked mafias, and in the case of israel and Russia, at least, these are the core economic ties … Russians have too much history to forget their self-interest the way we Americans have trumped ours in favor of our parasite israel’s and China same thing – they’ll never be bested by israel
go ahead, israel, drop us as your “friend” (host) … we’ll happily move on without you
Some Israeli or American Israeli boasted somewhere recently that the Chinese call the Israeli ‘important and successful men’ in Chinese because the Chinese call them “Tai Ren,” which does technically mean ‘big man’.
Ha. If they only knew.
You think the Chinese are going to take their bloated story of genius and conquest for 2500 years? The Chinese were building dry docks in Nanking — they are still there, BTW — for the largest ships in the world while Israel’s ancestors were herding goats and the Torah was still oral. That was 500-400 BC.
This profile of Putin puts forth a very complex and wily leader in Putin:

Putin’s buddies with Chabad?

Yup. Childhood neighbors who were kind to his family.
As Robert Friedman, the guy who wrote “Red Mafiya” about the Russian mob in the US, discovered no one in Russia gives a shit whether you’re Jewish. It’s “Do you come from my village?”
Friedman made headway with a Little Odessa (Brighton Beach) mobster because Friedman’s grandfather came from the same village as the top guy. They still killed him.

We as a community continue doing things right, but are not doing the right things.
And the logical, moral response to that is, find a new host to latch onto?
What’s logical about, “We as a community continue doing things right, but are not doing the right things” ?
We do it right but we are not doing right?

Hey guys, ever heard of “Visa Waiver programs.” These are done between countries with relatively friendly relations like the USA and France. Guess who has one with Israel and who doesn’t, say, between the USA and Russia. The answer’s obvious, right? Right???
“Israel lobbyist urges approach to Russia”
Go for it. Russia is playing israeli the same way israel plays the rest of the world. The fact that Russian immigrants to israel are also treated with a lot of discrimination in israel’s caste society should make such a Russian-israeli partnership especially entertaining.
“(‘we share values’)”
(cough)
You did with the yeltsin era corruption and gangsterism and those oligarchs still left over from it. But keep kidding yourself. You’ll find out. :D
Russians don’t like the Americans much, I doubt they are going to love Israel any better.
Speaking of Russia reminds me of a conversation I had with a Russian.
When the 9/11 happened, and the tvs were rolled out on carts, everyone started speaking in hushed tones at our college computer lab. The girl with the very blonde hair who worked as a lab tech, or something, turned to me and said, “I bet you thought the US was very nice. Wait till you see what they do to these people.” She had an accent so I asked her where she was from and she answered, “Russia. Everybody thinks we are evil. Now everyone will find out how nice America is.”
The Russians were much better disposed to americans, and israelis, before the yeltsin years took their toll. Israeloamerican backing of that severe depression caused by yeltsin & co. left around 3 million Russians dead who would not normally have died and that depression is comparable to the one in the usa during the 1930′s. Most Russians know that depression was a direct result of western backing (mostly israeli and american) of the oligarchs that sucked the country dry. That’s what changed the majority from having a positive view of america to a negative view.
The Russians get better news of things like the Afghan and Iran wars. American/israeli warmongering is not something left to the alternative media in Russia, it’s front page news. There also isn’t that curious zionist media phenomenon where allthe news outlets carry the exact same view of an incident or issue. They get a variety. So they are on average, better informed than americans. The Russians are also very anti-war as a people. A bit of trivia. The first anti-war protest against the Iraq war that got onto american television was stage by a couple of Russian teenagers. On the jay leno show, as a matter of fact, in Feb 03. That protest made the phrase ХУЙ ВОЙНЕ! world famous. ;D
You’re dead right, hayate.
Shorter Jennifer Mizrahi: nEEdz Nu pAraSite 2 SUk?? Also a bit of can haz cheezburger.
I came back to this thread because this Laszlo-Mizrahi article is SO REVEALING.
She’s advocating Israel dump the USA. Why?
What does she want Israel to get from Russia?
She shows disdain for ‘international cooperation’? Why?
This is one article everyone should keep a copy of. Laszlo-Mizrahi let the cat out of the bag.
