In John Mearsheimer’s latest, he says that in the future Israel “will” be an apartheid state, and “will” be a greater Israel, “and when that happens, we’ll be on the road to a binational state.” [quotes paraphrased]
My question for Mearsheimer: when will that date arrive? What more does Israel have to do to oppress the Palestinians for you to declare it is an apartheid state? How much more land must Israel ethnically cleanse, confiscate, and colonize for you to declare that Greater Israel is here, now? Mearsheimer’s predictions of an eternal future condition – “we’re on the road to apartheid” – ironically sound like the neverending road to the two-state solution.
Why can’t we all just wake up and call a spade a spade?
